Cards!

Hello all we are doing that Panama Canal Cruise starting Nov 22 from LA and my wife, her parents and I are interested in meeting others that like to play cards....mainly we play Canasta, Spades and Hearts....but are learning Bridge, two of the people in our group are big Bridge players...but we would love to meet and play with some new people... let me know if there are any other interested? :):cool:

Click on "Find Your Princess Roll Call" at the top of the page. Cruises are listed by date, your is on page 9. Click on "View Discussion." There you will find other passengers that are on your cruise. You will have better results on the roll call site.

You shouldn't want to start a new thread there. The roll call is the thread for your sailing. It is there as a central location for participants to discuss the cruise, activities and get to know fellow passengers.

Yes, no new thread. You just want to piggy back onto what's already there for your sailing. This is one of the 999,999 opinions:D.

Another idea. You will see people playing cards all over. Some are in the game room, but others will just be poolside, or at the cafe, or in the buffet. It doesn't hurt to ask and see if anyone wants to do a pick up game. We've met some great people on cruises by just taking the time to talk to them. One cool thing about cruising over other vacation choices is that people kind of expect to sit together, talk together, play trivia together, etc. So, people usually aren't bothered if others approach them on cruises. The most anyone can do is say no thank-you. I bet you find people that think that sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks Tom, kind of what my main plan was to begin with :-) I am not a shy person and when I cruise I usually make lots of new friends. thanks for your input and the previous post as well about tagging on to someone elses post. all good I am just excited and cant wait to get on that ship!!! 47 more days! woohoo:D

If you cannot figure out your roll call, or none of the posters in that group want to play cards, there is another way.

In the library people put up ads to meet others with similar interests. Check them out, and put your ad.

that's perfect.... I have e feeling there will be plenty of people to play with... there are 4 of us but its always nice to play with new people and mix it up as well as meet new friends in the cruising community :)

Here's a tip. It's best if you bring your own playing cards (Bicycle, Bee, Casino cards). Princess used to have the best playing cards but now they have the "Red and Blue" brand and they are not very good.

we have at least a 1/2 dozen decks of Bicycle cards we keep on hand, we have at least 2 dozen between us so we will be bringing them for sure Harry but thanks :-)

I love Canasta! I've played, off and on, since high school. My Canasta playing now is against computer generated partners and opponents. It's better than none at all.

well that's great... some in our group are Bridge skilled card counters and can out play us but we love to play....I am not sure if you can see our photo or not but we will be playing a lot and always love additional players! do you know when and where the CC kick off meeting on the ship is?:)
