Hi all..

Am booked in The Yacht Club for this Christmas cruise and am not sure what to expect..

Feedback would be much appreciated...

Many thanks...Greg

Not sure what you are asking, but here goes. . As soon as you arrive at the port look for the white tent. This is where they take your luggage, you will be escorted thru security, into the terminal and a private lounge. This is where you will set up your on board account and can relax with drinks & snacks although it did not take long for our small group. You then get escorted to the YC area. You will have access to the YC area which includes the One Lounge, pool bar and pool with plenty of space and loungers with Jacuzzis. You will have a butler who can escort you off the ship in ports, this gets you off faster. They will escort you to shows if you want and get your seats. Anything you want the staff will try and accommodate. Let your butler know what you want in your mini bar and they will stock it with those items. 2 of the forward elevators have a slot - insert your card outside then inside the elevator and it becomes an express to 15 and above. Even if other floors are pushed it bypasses those floors.

Of course you have Le Muse restaurant. You have a special entrance to the spa/gym. There is a concierge right outside the One Lounge at your service.

The pool bar in the morning for breakfast was perfect for me, remember you can get pancakes & waffles by asking one of the stewards, they will get it for you even if not on the buffet.

It's the total experience. If you have any questions they are happy to answer them.

They will also escort you off of the ship at the end of the cruise bypassing lines.

Hope this helps ..

PS...how is the food in MUSE?? and where is the One Lounge. I thought the TopSail Lounge was the exclusive one??

Top Sail is the lounge, sorry.

Food on LeMuse was very good, I didn't eat there every day but the few meals we had were delicious and service was great.

This is the view from the lounge.

I'm seriously considering booking a YC on Divina, but I find the deck plans very confusing. Specifically, how do you get from the YC area on deck 16 to the Muse restaurant? Deck 16 seems to be split. Can you walk through Deck 15? If it's raining how many decks do you have to go down to stay dry?

This is the worst part of th YC, your butler will take you to the dining room, he will get the elevator and escort you on the main deck, I believe six floor. We would choose walk outside if a nice day or go down through one of the passenger decks

Thanks for the quick answer. It sounds like YC is a nice experience, but I am picking up many ways in which it is designed to rub your status in the faces of the hoi polloi [even when you are trying to avoid doing that] -- YC guests must get many dirty [envious] looks.

I booked YC for next year. I am not really worried about the path to the dining room. I can usually find the food without problems, and walking up and down some stairs can only help burn off a tiny bit of the hopefully delicious food.

This will be our first trip with a butler, and like Host Jazzbeau, I am a bit unsure about the butler escorts around the ship. However, I plan on just telling the butler we will find our own way if I am truly uncomfortable.

But on the whole YC sounds amazing!

We were on the 16th floor. We just walked out the back door of YC on 16, went down 1 flight exterior stairs, then walked along deck 15 to the aft, around the Disarranno bar, into back door, right at entrance to Le Muse. We never had the butler walk us.

Our first port of call, our butler said he had to help us off the ship. He carried our bags, commandeered an elevator, took us down, and then proceeded to take us to the front of a very long line while we tried to hide our faces. I still laugh thinking about that.

We used our butler to escort us to a show and to walk us off the ship at the end of the cruise. We found our way to Le Muse just fine and did our own thing. Actually I had a bit much to drink one afternoon and one of the butlers walked me back to my cabin. I could have gone on my own I was not stumbling drunk but thought it was very nice.

We will probably use our Butler when we tender in Great Stirrup Cay, this way we can bypass the line and a possible long wait for the tender or so I've heard.

You do get looks. Remember you get what you pay for. I won't abuse the butlers or the privileges but I will definately use them when I feel I need to.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you. The Divina is a large ship and if the butlers can save us some serious time in line, I will be using their services, looks or no looks. :)

One more question: DW's SIL went on an MSC cruise (non-YC cabin) and reported that all announcements were in multiple languages. Is that true on Divina out of Miami? Do you hear them in the YC? [i figure the Butler can tell me what I need to know!]

Has anyone used drink coupons for buying drinks outside of the Yacht Club area? I am sure you could just charge to the room, but I think the coupons might save a little bit.

We are thinking about doing that...maybe buy one coupon book. I really don't understand the reasoning behind the YC drink policy. I suppose you could mix a drink with your minibar before venturing out and then drinking very slowly.:)

Good afternoon

Yacht Club cruising is almost like cruising on Seabourn-Regent-Oceania and other luxe and semi luxe lines at half price.

Enjoy

We bought a book of vouchers on booking and thus saved the 15% + a bit more, but did tip the servers anyway. We quite often took a cocktail from the YC bar down to the casino and then either used vouchers or just added drinks to our account.

There is music in the Top Sail Lounge every night and depending upon the passengers, dancing as well. We rarely left the YC areas apart from dining, shows and the casino, as we had a good crowd of passengers to socialise with in the YC.

After our first cruise in YC I did some rough calculations on what we would have spent on drinks etc. and found that it did not work out much more expensive that a balcony cabin, that may have changed now with the Aurea including drinks all over the ship but I doubt it.

You can get a drink from the bar and walk around the ship. They serve at the one pool all day.

I know the robes are laundered between sailings (I don't wear them). What about the slippers? Are these like bowling shoes that someone else has worn previously? I like slippers to keep my bare feet off the carpet, but I can bring my own if these have been previously worn. Anyone know?

They are cloth slippers that are new and sealed in a package.
