Caribbean, what currency ?

we are doing the transatlantic from Barbados next March,I was wondering what currency is accepted in the Caribbean islands and is it worth purchasing some before leaving home,

Everywhere in the Caribbean will take US$ but get small notes as some give change in local currency.

I found they tend to round everything up to the nearest dollar. In Nelsons dockyard I asked for a can of Coke and handed over $5 expecting change, it never happened!

Take US Dollars, and get them in the UK before your trip. As stated would not take anything above $20 bills due to getting change from your purchase in local currency. Enjoy your cruise.

If you go to a French island take some Euros - they rip you off by accepting dollars as one to one.

As others have said the mighty US Dollar bills no bigger than twenty's and some Euros if going to French Islands IE: Martinque, Guadaloupe.

Buy here pruor to cruise,exchange rate on ship very poor.
