packerbackergb Posted April 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2017 I assume that all rooms have a safe, but how do you gain access? I've been told they issue a key, card, or code to gain access. I've also heard that if it's a card, it's not the same as your S&S. Any help appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
leaveitallbehind Posted April 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2017 You may get experienced Carnival cruisers to answer this for you here but you will get your answer as well if you also post this on the Carnival board at the following link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Carnival ( and other lines) have two kinds of safes. One uses a (usually) four digit code that you set yourself. The other uses a credit card, any will do. I have used a cruise card from another line... EM
cb at sea Posted April 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2017 If it's a keypad, you set your own code. If it's a card, you can use ANY card with a magnetic strip.
erlindabraxton Posted May 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2017 Is the cabin safe same as that of hotel room safe. Can we keep a tablet, cell phone, watches in it or they are of small size feasible for only document storage like a passport.
Meamat Posted May 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2017 re: size - I can't compare to average hotel safes, but we were able to put a fair amount in ours and I used it like extra storage. Room for documents, a couple of jewelry cases, watches, phones that weren't in use, and a few other things as well I'm sure. I don't know dimensions so I can't say for sure a tablet would fit. And I just used an old card with magnetic strip, I think it was a store rewards card or something similar. You can use your sail and sign card, but then you'd be the only one who could open it. I preferred a separate one so others in the family can access.
Rare sparks1093 Posted May 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 6, 2017 The safes are about the same size as those found in hotels. CCL uses the magnetic safe and the key pad safe, as the magnetic safes fail they are being replaced with the key pad safes. For the magnetic safes you may use any card with a magnetic strip and must use the same card to unlock it.
