Tiffany_Zerbe Posted April 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2017 So..being quite new to cruising, I already paid for two cheers programs and the cruise with our credit cards. I then purchased a $500 gift card which I plan on putting on our sail cards. What happens if I don't use the full amount?? We also prepaid our gratuities too:o What happens to that balance?? Can I cash it out somewhere or am I out of luck??

Someone will certainly correct me if Im wrong. This will be my first time using a Carnival gift card.
jdemps Posted April 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2017 I always upload money from sail and sign account to a player bank on a slot machine, play a while and then cash out. take ticket to casino cashier and then get that cash. I don't know if you can take money off Sail & Sign card like an ATM at a kiosk? I'll try that in July on the Miracle.
Sunquest4me73 Posted April 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2017 We had like $250 left on our sail and sign due to putting gift cards onto the account at the end of our cruise, they sent us a check and it was quick less than two weeks after our cruise. FlaMommy75 Posted April 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2017 In the past we have cashed it out at the kiosk but that method did not work on our October cruise...maybe they no longer allow the kiosk to do it? Anyways, we were mailed a check about a week later so no worries.:)

This is what they did for me too. Got a gift card with the balance on it though, not a check.

Organized Chaos Posted April 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2017 According to Carnival FAQ's, any amount put into your S&S account using a Carnival gift card that isn't used will be refunded as a Carnival gift card. Carnival Gift Card: If the guest uses a Carnival Gift Card for their Sail & Sign deposit, any refundable overages will be refunded in the form of a new Carnival Gift Card. If you deposit cash into your S&S, you can cash out the remainder using a kiosk or guest services. If you don't cash out on the ship, they'll send you a check about a week later if it's more than $10. If less than $10, they automatically donate it to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. summersigh Posted April 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2017 If you book excursions while on board the ship they will be debited against your S&S account (where the value of the $500 gift card is applied) That will help use up some of the card.:)
