Traveler Jerry Posted January 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2016 What are some good hotel choices in Lisbon pre-cruise (other than the Ritz)?
PaulaJK Posted January 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Look at Corinthia [on web] and see if it fits your needs.
Chairsin Posted January 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Avenida Palace -- nice central location in the heart of the city with a very friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed there twice in the last few years and encountered our fellow passengers.
tsavorite Posted January 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2016 If you are after really good boutique type hotels, any of the Heritage Lisbon hotels are worth considering. I like the Avenida Libertade, other people have raved about the Britania.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Avenida Palace -- nice central location in the heart of the city with a very friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed there twice in the last few years and encountered our fellow passengers. I second the recommendation. Excellent choice. Bostonactor Posted January 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We will be staying at the Avenida Palace pre- cruise this April, based on the recommendation of friends who thought it was wonderful. They loved the service, the location, the room, the breakfast and, in particular, the bar.
Chairsin Posted January 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Oh, yes -- the breakfast! How could I have forgotten to mention that. They provide a lovely highly varied buffet of tasty food served in an elegant ( if slightly fade glory) room with formally dressed waiters. claudiaYVR Posted January 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We also had a lovely stay at Avenida Palace in Oct 2014. Really nice cozy bar, great piano music in the main room past the lobby having a drink before dinner (there was a card in our room with a schedule of the music performances for every night of the week). Awesome breakfast as others have mentioned. It has tons of character and old world charm, don't expect modern facilities. Fabulous location.
