India visa

We have just received our Indian visa. We applied for multiple entry (as we figured we were entering 4 times)

The visa we received is only Single Entry..... is this ok?

What visa does everyone else have?

I was actually posting on behalf of my MIL. They live in Malta so had to apply via Indian embassy in Tripoli!

You obviously have Multiple Entry then?

Does the Multi-entry cost more than single entry? And did they charge for the higher cost....

Depends on your MIL's nationality? What passport is she traveling on. Your MIL needs to make a phone call.

Your MIL should ask the source of visa - Tripoli. They would know why only a single entry visa was issued when for multiple entry was applied and paid for.

She has emailed and phoned the relevant people but we will not find out any more until tomorrow ( hopefully)

My original question was to find out what type of visa everyone else had to try and alleviate the stress we were having this evening.

If we only need a single entry visa we can just relax and look forward to the holiday.

If the multi entry visa is required then I might not have to spend Christmas with my Mother-in-law ;-)/panic more

Once again what is her Nationality and under what passport will she be traveling under???? This is what governs the issue! Her nationality & passport. We can't give you that info....

MIL has German passport so no problems getting the visa. problem is that she lives in Malta and there is no Indian Embassy there- the reason we're panicking is because it would take a long time to change it ( via tripoli) Plus we were told that multi and single were the same price.

But of course I wasn't really asking you guys how to solve our problem - but to quickly know which visa was required for this particular cruise :-)

Did you see the online link I posted? You may want to study up on the Visa requirements for German Citizens or dies she have an EU passport?

Once again The Visa requirements are based on her citizenship and cruisers on this site are mostly US, Canadian, some AU & NZ & Uk... German or EU is completely different.

German is EU passport as is Uk ( which is my passport)

We know the visa requirements for our passport and how to visit India in general etc ( Uk passport have to pay 3 times as much as German for example)

But this wasn't my query.....

We are on Jan 11 th cruise same itinerary.

Celebrity have issued clear guidance that must be a multi entry visa.

We now have our Visas and they are clearly marked multi entry.

Sorry but you will need to do something about this.

In the US the default is now a 10 year multi-visit visa.

Glad you are finally getting the answers you need. You might amend your profile slightly to let at least your country of origin show. Remember so much advice here is for US cruisers and the rules can be and are completely different if you are from somewhere else :)

Just finished a cruise with multiple stops in India. We needed a multi-entry visa. Even with that, we had to fill out numerous other documents for each port. They take their documentation very seriously in India!
