Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We are booked in an Aqua Class for our trip on Beyond in August. We have been cruising with Royal for a while now, and have been buying the Ultimate Dining Package because the MDR's just seem to be going downhill. Since we do have access to Blu, as well as the 4 MDR's on board, we want to do one of the specialty restaurants. My wife is dying to go to a Michelin Star restaurant (I will be at one in Mendoza next week!! 🙂 ) So, if I were to book Le Voyage, there's three different options - A la carte dinner, a Tasting Menu and also the Chef's Table by Daniel Baloud. My wife doesn't eat SO much, but I don't want to be stuck with just one option for an Entree. Does anyone have any suggestions on which level to book??? Price is about $20 difference per option.
  2. We had a Prime Concierge Infinite Veranda booked on Beyond. We were convinced by a few friends that it was worth it to spend a couple hundred more for an Aqua Class cabin, and we jumped on it. The Canapes and the Bubbles mean nothing to us, since we have the drink package, and will now have an opportunity to dine in Blu, as well as access to the Thermal Suite, which I'm sure the wife would use, and I'll probably use once...
  3. Crazy to think that Tito's is on the Premium list...However, Wheatley is just as good of quality on the Classic package
  4. Not for nothing, but a Somm is not there to sell bottles of Moscato. He or she must've just been so annoyed that they said no, and moved on. They are there to sell and upsell expensive bottles. This is a question for your table server.
  5. So our upcoming cruise in August, the MTD is sold out and the only option is an 8:30PM seating. I've read conflicting posts of showing up and getting a pager for the MDR? Is that true, or am I stuck with an 8:30 dining option? I'd hate to eat late and miss the shows...I know I'm going to try to do some of the specialty restaurants but I do want to try all the options in the MDR's on the ship as well...
  6. Yeah, I get it. It's not the "traditional" balcony, but I don't see this ship has "traditional" balcony rooms....weird but I'll deal with it. I was about to book on 11, but then I read somewhere that the upper decks block the sun from coming in so went up to 12
  7. Been loyal to Royal for the last bunch of years, have had some amazing trips on ships big and small. However, we were sick of the same itinerary of Port Canaveral, Coco Cay (which I LOVE) and Nassau (Which I HATE!) We booked Beyond to the ABC Islands, places we've never been. Just curious about the main differences between RCL and Celebrity - we booked a Prime Concierge Infinite Veranda on Deck 12. Are the MDR's good? We've seen the MDR's on RCL too commercial, menu changes, and skimping on a lot. Main question is - worth it to upgrade to a dining package? Things I DEFINITELY need to try? I heard Daniel Baloud's restaurant is not to be missed! Dress code - I'm assuming a little more strict on Celebrity vs RCL? I usually wear a pair of nice shorts and a collared shirt - I assume that's a No-Go, but are jackets required for Men? I'm a bit of a wine and liquor snob (work in the industry) - booked the "all inclusive" wifi and drink package - assuming its worth it to upgrade both? Lastly, I am Emerald in RCL - and also have the RCL Visa - do I get any perks or benefit with these? Thanks so much for your input and I am looking forward to our new adventure on a new line (for us)
  8. I sent an email 30 days out from my sailing and they replied back that the medical fridge would be in the room by the evening of the first night
  9. Anyone know what kind of music is played at Music Hall? I heard they used to do a lot of cover bands, but recall seeing that changed. We had a fantastic time on NCL's Breakaway, which had Sid Norman's Pour House and their house band was fantastic! We went there almost every night. Hoping to have a similar experience on Oasis...
  10. Luckily for us on the ship, it wasn't one of ours, but still feel horrible for the victim and his family/loved ones....
  11. 7am woke up to Oscar Oscar Oscar over the loud speaker. Supposedly man overboard port side was wearing life jacket floating face down. We were already at the dock in Nassau. Thoughts and prayers for his/her loved ones. Dunno if it was a passenger on the ship or a dock worker. Anyone else here on the ship have any insight?
  12. Anyone have this available? Sailing on Indy in a couple weeks and wife needs to know what she can/can't drink w/ the Drink Package. TIA
  13. I just purchased VOOM in Cruise Planner for my upcoming cruise in May (free voucher from Casino), how do I get the discount??
  14. Heading out on Indy next month, first time on this class of ship. Not too sure what the shows are - see a possibility of Grease? Although we just saw that last year on Harmony, still a solid production. Main question is, is the Quest back on ALL ships???
  15. I just priced it out for our upcoming Oasis cruise in August. It's $16.99 for the first device and $14.99 thereafter. It used to go down more per device, I got it for $10.99 for 4 devices on my last cruise in August on Adventure. It get s expensive....$400 for 4 people for a week, BUT on an Oasis Class ship, I think it's necessary to be able to keep in touch, especially with children and elders.
