  1. Thinking of going to Circular Quay and watching her depart on Tuesday. For those booked, what time is your sail away? Be lovely sailing out from OPT with Vivid on.
  2. You have clever grandsons. My second and third picks for boyโ€™s name were Jack and Ryan. Wallabys are smaller than Kangaroos and not known to be aggressive so unexpectedly meeting one was lovely.
  3. Yes, itโ€™s annual usually April/May. Lots of people travel from interstate for it and no doubt from overseas too. Apart from the lights, there are also talks & performances. This year itโ€™s on from 27 May - 18 June. april/May is a good time to visit Uluru & FNQ too.
  4. Canโ€™t get up close to the OH atm and the only article I can find re the projections is 2013 so way out of date. When there are future projections, I will see if I can get close enough for photos of the equipment.
  5. I posted three times this morning replying separately to other posts and they just disappeared so yeah the posting issues work both ways..
  6. Then after 3hrs of walking, I met up with DH & DD to head home. There is more to see but the highlights seen tonight will do me for now. DH is seeing a show at the Opera House tomorrow night and I was originally going to join him but I think my feet need a rest & he plans to walk there and back via the Sydney Harbour Bridge which is a no from me.
  7. Then outside the Barangaroo restaurant precinct where the restaurants were doing a roaring trade (same as the Circular Quay restaurant precinct) there were the planet illuminations. Some of the restaurants between Circular Quay and the Opera House had signs for this weekend if the festival - minimum 2 people. Minimum spend $50.
  8. After looking at the installations in Circular Quay area, next up was the Walsh Bay Light Walk to Barangaroo. First up where these at Walsh Bay Wharf. They were very popular for photos. Then there were a few smaller installations
  9. We have had a very wet 7 days and then the weather gods smiled down on the organisers because it was a beautiful evening to be in the city by the harbour for their opening night. No rain and no wind. Winter is next week and you didnโ€™t even need a jacket tonight.
  10. The Harbour Bridge is of course illluminated and there are projections on the pillars and lighting flashing across the harbour.
  11. Ken Done is a well known Aussie painter. His designs were huge in the 80s. We had a doona cover with one of his colourful designs on it for years. His installation is projected on the facade of Customs House at Circular Quay during the festival.
  12. Beautiful evening in Sydney for Vivid - arts, ideas & music festival. First time itโ€™s been held in 2 years so plenty of people out and about for it.
  13. We have had beautiful deer photos and one big black bear roaming the neighbourhood, posted this week. I will add my encounter a wild Wallaby.. Itโ€™s not tame. Itโ€™s wild and lives in the vicinity of my workplace and is rarely seen although we know of its existence. After a week of rain this week, we have beautiful sun, so I decided to walk to work. As I was walking across our grassed lunch area ,this morning, it popped up from behind one of the bushes, stopped and listened as I tried to chat then shaking its head at my inane greetings, hopped away. No photo but nice to have seen it. ๐Ÿฆ˜
  14. @Luckynana Happy Birthday to Jack. Having a loving Nana who is so proud of him is wonderful. @dani negreanu your second cheesecake is equally delish and your hubby is a talented man @A&L_Ont that steak has me drooling.
  15. My girlfriend and husband just came back from a small ship cruise off Western Australia. Her hubby says I think I put on 5 kilos and I think you did too. He put on 2kg in 10 days and she put on half a kilo. She is very happy. She ate what she wanted but unlike her DH she didnโ€™t drink. She has 300 photos to show me when we catch up.
