We're so excited for this cruise, but I've never had such a hassle giving a company money
- Partial payment? Must call and wait for hours..
- Bar tab and payment actually worked online!
- Add the Splash of Romance package.. Must call in.. I called at 8:30 Eastern (5:30am for me) waited an hour, selected call back.. nothing.. Call a few hours later..waited an hour before call back chosen..nothing..I'm even answering spam calls and getting back on active lists for this.. Now we've been on hold for 3 hours. Why can't that be done with 3 clicks on a website?
At least the agents are very helpful and efficient once you get off hold. No doubt a little investment in IT would go a long way in customer satisfaction
I took my most recent cruise on Virgin 5/2022 but was able to make partial payments online before final payment was due. If that has changed, that is unfortunate.

They (VV) let me combine a single My Next Voyage offer with FCC.
-
We stayed in a Cheeky Corner (also aft) and enjoyed it, but there was virtually no breeze while underway.
-
I agree - it sounds like VV is right up your alley! Took my first VV cruise in April '22 and loved it!

Thank You scaught - We are Rockstars (not Mega)
I know we have a "curated" bar, I wonder if we can make any special requests?
In my experience as “regular” Rockstar 😜, you can make requests, but they are currently limited by supply chain issues. They do try to do their best to accommodate you though.

The beds in the RockStar suites unfortunately do not separate, which I agree is a flaw that hopefully VV will address. Lucky for me, my travel partner is my sister, so we are used to sharing a bed 😄

@thrifty99 Having just gotten off the ship, your review is helping ease my post cruise blues!
There was “hosted” karaoke a couple of time that was in the evenings (I want to say it was in the Social Club but it is in the event lineup on the app). We did the group as well as the private karaoke and had a blast!
We also did the test kitchen but one of your picture was new. What is the picture between the egg and the scallop?
Hope the weather stays good for the rest of your trip!

We just left the Scarlet Lady in tip-top shape for you! Have a blast! ☺️

Currently on Scarlet Lady and have been told occupancy is 500. Next cruise is slated to be 800.

@cantgetin on the Virgin website (https://www.virginvoyages.com/voyage-well#sailing) they have testing requirements detailed depending on where you are cruising to (Caribbean vs UK/Europe). I am going to attempt to add a screenshot (LOL)
That being said, I also got an email about 3-4 weeks out from my upcoming sailing detailing the testing requirements at the time.

@tde1969Are they mailing seabands at all or are they picked up on embarkation day?
You guys look like you had a blast!! 13 days and counting for me...

@CustomerCareI am sailing (just as a RockStar) in just over 2 weeks and have not had the same experience. I received emails when booking windows opened for shore excursions and dining and booked them on the app. I also have contacted my Rockstar agent several times prior to this through the app and have gotten prompt responses (although I am currently waiting on a response that has taken longer than usual). I know Mega Rockstars are supposed to have "roadies" to provide more personalized service and I expect that once you board, they will be able to work out your schedule requests despite them showing unavailable in the app. Maybe try sending a message to them through the app?

Whether you book on board or 60 days after debarkation, you get a $300 credit towards your next booking.
Thanks for the info @LibratPDX. Do you happen to know if the $300 credit is per person or per room? Meaning, if 2 people took advantage of the deal and sailed in the same cabin, could they potentially get $600 off the cabin price?

9/10, would absolutely book again. I took a point off for not being able to dock in Bimini. We booked another voyage for next year while on board.
@snarfbeastWhat (if any) specials were they running for booking a future cruise while onboard? Thanks.

I was not informed at all. Just trying to be prepared, we are 25 days out for out of Miami.
You must be on right after us! It is also on the website (2nd paragraph):
2. COVID-19 antigen testing prior to boardingAs the world changes, we’re evolving our practices and testing protocols as well. So in light of that, Sailors are welcome to bring a negative COVID-19 test instead of testing at the terminal (either a PCR test: a polymerase chain reaction molecular test, commonly called a “PCR test” or “NAAT test”, or an Antigen Test, also called a rapid antigen test, or a lateral flow test) administered by a health professional in the 48 hours prior to boarding.
We encourage you to bring your own test results if possible so you can travel with peace of mind and significantly speed up your boarding process before hopping aboard our beautiful Scarlet Lady. However, we understand how busy life can be, and will continue to offer freetesting at the terminal in the event that you are unable to test prior to arriving at the port.
If you’re able to bring your own negative COVID-19 test results, we will be accepting the following formats: a printed document, an email, a PDF or image of your certified results, or a telehealth/clinician application notification. We will not accept handwritten doctors notes, an image of a test cartridge, or a physical test cartridge.
Whether you are able to bring your own test results or you plan to test at the terminal, be sure to stick to the arrival time you pre-selected in the Sailor App during check-in.- 1

I got an email for my Caribbean cruise (different rules for Europe/UK) with the info about testing 48 hrs prior - my email said there would be testing at the port for those who needed it. I am about 21 days out. Were you informed by email or over the phone?

Great--total confusion. We are cruising out of Barcelona after flying in from the US 2 days "early." So I called VV last week to find out what the status was of testing requirements. I'm thinking that screaming might be in order as much of what is posted here disagrees with what the rep told us. The first "conflict" is that he said the testing must be done 48 hour ahead, rather than 72, which would make it virtually impossible for us. I think I'll recheck as to the rules about a month before we cruise.
From what I can tell (for now), the 48 hours is for Caribbean sailings. The website says 72 hours for UK/European sailings. You “should” get an email closer to your departure (I got one at 21 days out for my Caribbean sailing stating the 48 hr. timeframe), but I would definitely keep checking the closer you get to departure.

@jj1814 I had heard the same figure for the transport if you were just a Rockstar...we will be doing the same!

If my memory serves me correctly, we booked a Cheeky Corner (pretty big terrace) in 10/21 for 5/22 and got 10% off for booking > 6 months in advance. We did not pay in full, but for a 5 night cruise it was $4800. They (Virgin) ran a promotion after we booked and I was able to call and get a price adjustment. I believe it was after final payment, because my credit card was credited the difference.

@pl281Thanks for sharing. I will be sailing her in May and cannot wait!

Will be following this thread as well.

I called Virgin this morning with a question about my boarding time and the representative I spoke with said "We are going to be transitioning away from testing at the pier..." I told him I had heard that but their website currently says otherwise; he didn't provide any further details such as dates, etc., so who knows what the deal is. He also said that I would be notified of changes via the app, so if that is the case, all bets are off...

The information that I posted was available on the links the day that I made the post and shared the information. There were multiple posts in FB groups about the change in policy.
However, it seems that the day (or two) after having this info on their website Virgin Voyages changed it back to the original information! There are many confused sailors who saw the information when it was there - but now it has gone.
No idea what VV are doing with this - but on Friday morning when I made the post the information was correct and sourced directly from the VV website!
I will edit the post advising folks to check for up to date info...
I can vouch for @britincanadaand the original post 😉. That info was on Virgin's website and I actually copied and pasted the language to send to my travel party (sailing in May), but now, who knows what the truth is... It will probably change again before I sail. I enjoyed the "reassurance" that testing at the port provided, but either way, I cannot wait to board!

@britincanadaThanks for posting. I am headed on the Scarlet Lady in early May and knew there would likely be changes in their testing protocol prior to that time. I find it interesting that they will accept either type of test (antigen or PCR). Either way, SUPER excited to sail in 72 days!!
