  1. …or you just happen to live in/near a cruise port! I’ve been on twelve cruises. I’ve flown to four of them and the other eight were from my home port. I’m MUCH more likely to take a cruise if it’s from my home port. Here are a few of the reasons why: • I HATE everything about flying • If I fly, I have to either take more time off work (and away from my pets) or else book shorter itineraries • Added stress of issues stemming from air travel (lost luggage, delayed or canceled flights, etc.) ruining the trip • Saves money Of those, saving money is definitely the LEAST important one for me…
  2. This is the hanging door menu for room service. Although they will no longer be using the hanging menus, I imagine the selections (both free and paid) will remain the same. You will now just have to call in the order.
  3. I haven’t been on a cruise since 2016 but I have my next cruise planned for September. I’ve sailed on Carnival ten times previously plus two cruises on a different line (Celebrity). On every single cruise I’ve ever taken, the Sign & Sail cards were handed to us when we checked in for embarkation. Watching vlogs now, I see that they have changed that and now deliver them in an envelope outside your stateroom. My question is WHY do you suppose they made this change? It doesn’t make any sense! It seems to me like it would be so much more work for them to have to deliver them to thousands of cabins. Moreover, it’s less convenient for the passenger. And I imagine it invites tons of problems when the envelopes with the cards get lost/stolen, which would then result in lines of people at Guest Services trying to get new cards. I don’t get it. Does anyone have thoughts that may not have occurred to me?
  4. For my past five cruises, I have booked a cabin on the Lido deck (or one deck above). I would MUCH rather be able to leave my room when I feel like it, walk a few hundred yards and grab coffee or a few items from the buffet or the Blue Iguana (WAY more selection than on the free room service menu) rather than hang an order form the night before for disappointing food that may or may not still be at the best time. In the past, most times I got the room service, I was either awakened when I could have slept longer or woke up earlier and twiddled my thumbs until RS arrived. I’ve never been on a ship with Ocean Plaza before, so I won’t know to miss that. However, when I’m on Panorama on my next cruise, the Lido will be WAY more convenient from my cabin on deck 11 mid than trudging down to deck 5 aft, so I doubt I would have availed myself of it even if they had it. I'm generally STUFFED after dinner following a long day of eating, so I’m not one who is generally looking for late night food. I always plan to try the afternoon tea, but I don’t recall doing so a single time in all my Carnival cruises. I always find myself doing something else that time of day. The only one I find disappointing is the brunch hours, as I was considering perhaps hitting the brunch TWICE in the same day; once early and once late! 😛 I think I will survive with just one brunch, though! 😉 And it’s not like there aren’t other options from noon to 1:00. I’m sorry for those these changes does affect, but I’m not really one of them…
  5. The FunTimes I saw said it’s open for sea day brunch from 8:30-12:00. Still not as much separation as I’d normally have between meals, but I think I could justify it! 😂😋
  6. No need for an apology. And I agree with your taste. I’m just able to garner pleasure from things that are tacky as well as from things that are more classy…
  7. I promise I’m not an enormous glutton! I just feel like maybe I’d like a breakfast-y dish at the beginning of brunch service and a lunch-y dish closer to 12:00. With so many options, even with three sea days, I’m not going to be able to try everything I want…
  8. I find the “tacky” decor charmingly hilarious! I’ve sailed Splendor twice and found Miracle’s (infamous) main dining room hilarious!
  9. If you purchase something through Carnival in advance of your cruise (drink package, internet package, beverages for your cabin, etc.), does it get charged to your sail-and-sign account? Or do you pay by credit card?
  10. Isn’t that one unique to the Alchemy bar? Would they be able to get it for you while you play in the casino?
  11. As long as you are an eligible player, meaning not underage, they should still pay the jackpot. Rating players - tracking their casino play through a card and doling out benefits - is ENTIRELY separate from the games themselves.
  12. That was really my concern! I want to try for as early a time slot as I can get…
  13. What information do you need to provide during the online check-in? I will be sailing with someone from a different time zone and it will be difficult to contact her when I’m doing it, so I want to be sure I have all of the information from her in advance.
  14. I’m doing YTD for the first time on my upcoming Panorama cruise. My question is, do they automatically seat you at a table with just your party? Or do you have the option to share a table with random others the way it used to be for MDR breakfast and lunch? Because that is something I actually LIKE! If I’m spending every dinner with the same person I just spent the whole day with, I’m afraid we’re going to run out of things to talk about and it’s gonna be boring…. 😉
  15. Congratulations!🍾🎊🎉
  16. Plus $200 in FunPlay. But you’re going on a more-bucket-list-worthy cruise of twice the length, so I’m kind of jealous of you, too! 😉
  17. I got this offer and thought someone would have to pinch me. It was real, though and I’m booked on a Panorama cruise in the balcony of my choice on deck 11!
  18. Mine is for everywhere, but does NOT include my companion. Sucks to be her! 😉😆
  19. I booked an offer through the casino players’ club that includes “Drinks On Us! included everywhere on board the ship”. Can anyone tell me if that is exactly the same as having the “Cheers!” package (or if not, what are the differences)? I appreciate the help!
  20. I believe I saw them on one of the dining room menus posted in someone’s review!
  21. I’m so excited to see someone else who sailed with a casino offer! This will be my ELEVENTH Carnival Cruise and I had no idea to look for “My offers” on the Carnival website. I shudder to think how much money I wasted!!! Well, I just booked a week on Panorama in September because there was an offer that was too good to pass up! • “Free” balcony (meaning we pay $200 for two people and get $200 in onboard credit) • $200 additional dollars in “Fun Play” • “Drinks on Us” not just in the casino but everywhere on the shop (this last one applies to only me and not my guest) How could I say no to that?!
