  1. One is 12 days, one is 16...so 75+75 each for each leg...150 for each leg.
  2. 75+75 for each person for each leg
  3. I know ya'll aren't fortune tellers...but wondering what you would do. We are looking at B2B (16+12) next April. Should we book now or wait 3 1/2 months & book on board to get the 150+ OBC for each leg? Decent chunk of OBC...but wondering if prices for this TA/British Isles cruise will just go up between now & then. I'm just looking for other POV's before I decide. Thanks!
  4. Admittedly--I was pulling that as example. Vaping is higher worldwide & world population % that cruises is smaller worldwide, but unless I go country by country & we can narrow down socio-economics, pretty tough to get exact #s. What I'm saying is...a likely very low #, so I am not concerned. AS I SAID--we shall see.
  5. Not surprising in a city of 18M. Considering cruises are a microcosm of society, I'm not too worried about it. 3.4 % of US population vapes. 30% of US population has cruised. In theory about 1% of passengers vape. No guarantee they will all be in the casino, at same time. Yes, yes, the true math lies in the demographics of who vapes...the largest vaping age group by far is under the age of 44...and the largest age of cruisers is 40+. The numbers support my lack of worry. (11% of world population vapes, but much lower % of world population has ever cruised--much tougher to do the math there)
  6. I LOVE that Celebrity casinos are smoke free--it puts them a step above other lines just for that fact. That being said, vaping is not nearly as widespread as smoking. Would I prefer NO vaping? YES Do I truly think it will be an issue? NO Time will tell.
  7. Sadly I saw this on the Divina in Feb. I have NEVER seen this on any of our other 30 cruises on other lines--it was VERY uncomfortable.
  8. OK the benefits (soda package, internet & specialty dining) for the girls is a pretty nominal addition so I don't see that as a huge issue. It's a fair question--2 rooms, a bit more space & privacy, but at the cost of a verandah. My thought is that for a port intensive cruise, a verandah loses a bit of value. We have no problem with INT rooms (tho our Getaway room was a bit cozy for my taste--Prima class is bigger). Nice & dark to sleep. We r usually only in a room to sleep & shower. But others have VERY strong feelings about not staying in interiors/having a balcony. Don't get me wrong--we LIKE balconies & have a "$500" rule---if it is less than $500 total more, we go for it. But anymore, we usually just put in upgrade bids & keep our fingers crossed. Our success rate is solid on several lines. Remember--there are more balconies on any ship than any other category 😉. The key is this--are you OK w/ INT if the bid does not go thru? We have done that before where we booked 1 adult/1 kid in each room...then just got extra keys & swapped them out. No big deal.
  9. That pretty much is how the one for Nov cruise went... Bizarro since submitted same day... I'll call Weds...sigh.
  10. Sheesh...been over a week...the holiday won't help. THIS is why you do it early!
  11. It was just odd to me that I got 2 different "ways" of doing it on the same day. How long did it take to finally show up on your account?
  12. OK, 57YO here. I These refillable tubes were a game changer for me. I was in Europe for a month w/ backpack & carry on bag. I was AMAZED how little product I used. Try filling these with your product (label with sharpie or plastic labels for label makers) & use them for 2 weeks. I ran out of NOTHING in a month! Now, as I said I use powder foundation so that helps (Bare Minerals--people think I am 5-10 yrs younger when it's on). I also tried & fell in love with GEMZ "solid" shampoo & conditioner--very lightweight. They come individually packaged--I was able to cut the shampoo in half for each use. And my bag had more things in it than usual as Europe can be pickier (solid deoderant, mascara may need to be in your bag). I prefer the 20ml size but honestly, 10 ml might have been big enough for most things! I didn't need sunscreen on that trip--my powder foundation has it in it, as does my moisturizer & it was cool so no pool/beach time. I bought 2 things there: hairspray (I wasn't sure 2 travel size would even be enough for a month) & a decent tube of lotion (which was AMAZING--SO SO much thicker than what I get here for that same inexpensive price) since it was very dry in N. Europe. I used the lotion up & left the hairspray for my cabin attendant. If you are sailing the Caribbean, I would just pick up sunscreen once you get there as well. Honestly, sunscreen is the biggest issue for our upcoming Med cruise...I understand it is expensive there. We have a checked bag allowed & transfers booked so won't be shlepping cases on cobblestone or on trains as I did in May.
  13. In May I brought Vessi sneakers (waterproof), Sorel waterproof short boots & flats for the ship. In August I'd probably swap the boots for waterproof walking sandals; perhaps some comfy leather white tennies if its cooler.
  14. 100% on the pool tables--clearly you were dealing with a power hungry pool attendant.... I KNEW we got each other...Nebraska here. Befriended a guy from Illinois on Divina & we shared our frustrations to each other about passenger behavior...
  15. Yes..combed thru that today...once I looked thoroughly at the perks I was smacking myself for waiting so long...
  16. Yeah but Celebrity throws in GOOD trivia & gameshows too (can you tell I'm a fan?) 100% about the rest. On Divina--not enough loungers...people pulled them EVERYWHERE--no respect for area for people to walk around the deck. Friendliest passengers--CANADIANS & Midwesterners 😉
  17. LOTS of dance lessons. Trivia was ok on Divina in Feb...Music trivia was BAD in May... in several ways Since it was cool in Europe..."pool games" we done in lounges...somehow that feels odd. Shows we very "meh" on both cruises. Vocalists were quite good. Honestly I did VERY few activities & normally I do A LOT on a ship.
  18. So if I just add something to my ressie w/ AmEx I might get it?
  19. Caribbean was a lot of S. Americans & Americans. Europe was mostly Germans as we were out of Hamburg.
  20. I'm glad! It was SO odd...especially 2 different demographics onboard!
  21. OK...after about 30 cruises, tried MSC in Feb (NOT YC) Wasn't a fan--tried again in May. Even less of a fan now. We did Retreat on Beyond in April. Really enjoyed it but would have to get a similar deal as we got on that one to do it again--nothing was so much better to pay a huge premium for. Would I try MSC again if we did YC? Maybe, if the price was right. But I found the passengers to be rude on both sailings (one in Caribbean & one in Europe...)--which is an issue that many reviewers point out. And the activities & entertainment were, well, odd. I agree with above poster about Celebrity shows--EXCEPT Eclass. Those are on another level.
  22. SO I submitted my email with all the documents on June 19 for our cruise in August & one in November. On June 22 I got my responses. Oddly, they were worded in 2 different ways...and, of course, one has posted (Nov) & the other (Aug) has not. The email for Nov cruise is clear, Amenity form was sent under separate email that lists the $50 OBC under each person's name & it shows on our online reservation. (That emails simply said: "Your shareholder benefit onboard credit has been added to your reservation. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.") The email for Aug cruise is different. Says this: "Your shareholder benefit onboard credit has been added to your reservation as an amenity. It will show as a pending balance while it is processing. Once complete, the balance will reflect $0 and your onboard credit will show on your amenity invoice." Amenity email looks like the other one EXCEPT, it does not list the OBC on the Amenity page, but a 2nd page that is an invoice & says "balance due"...$100. So over a week later, OBC is still not showing on our Aug reservation. I have emailed twice & whoever is handling it simply puts the same reply as above. Anyone had anything odd like this happen? Sure feels like the person who processed the August one doesn't seem to know the process... I will call if I have to...but you never know how long that will take!
  23. So JUST got the AmEx Platinum today--KICKING MYSELF FOR NOT DOING IT SOONER! ($695 was a tough pill to swallow) As I perused benefits thoroughly today, it says that the NCL benefit is the OBC plus Le Bistro. It doesn't mention a bottle of wine (other lines have that). So to clarify...I need to book the cruise via the AmEx portal to trigger these benefits? (Obviously playing w/ the AmEx)
  24. SHHHHHHH--STOP TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT SYD'S & WATERFRONT!! Now, not sure how usable the Waterfront would be on a winter TA...
  25. You need to own 100 shares. By Friday's close price this would run you $2177. ($21.77/share) That is near it's record high price the last year. I just opened an Etrade account--took about a week to get money transferred in. You then must submit a form & proof of ownership (I take screenshots). I do this at least a month before leaving but it can be done later---you just never know for sure how long it will take. Benefit: $50 OBC 6 days or less $100 OBC 7-14 days $250 OBC 15+ days
