  1. $12.50 AUD = $8.27 USD Beer is $8.25 + 18% Gratuity USD ($9.74 total) $14.99 AUD = $9.92 USD Bubbles is $6.95 + 18% Gratuity USD ($8.20 total) My understanding is that Carnival Australia includes the gratuities as part of the price. If so, $12.50 AUD is still lower than the USD price for beer. Soda is still a bit more.
  2. What was the old beer price before the 40% increase ?

  4. I'm not so sure that Carnival is that transparent with their pricing. It was only months ago that they would show you the starting price of each category, and separately next to that pricing they would list the port fees and taxes of each person. They no longer show you the port fees and taxes of each person until you drill down. I wouldn't call that transparent. Why did they remove this information ?
  5. Hence... "The 'cruise industry' does keep track and reported that 45% of global cruise travelers in 2019 were first-time cruisers"
  6. Agreed. After doing a number of 7-day cruises, they hardly seem worth the trouble too now that I've done some 9-day or longer cruises. And even those do not seem long enough. We are now doing back-to-back cruises that last 2 to 4 weeks in total.
  7. The cruise industry does keep track and reported that 45% of global cruise travelers in 2019 were first-time cruisers. With Carnival booking at 102% capacity, their first-time cruisers percent is likely higher. So, Saint Greg is pretty much on the money. Must-Know Cruise Industry Statistics [Latest Report] • Gitnux
  8. Is this lounge at the cruise terminal while waiting to board ?
  9. 5-day. Sea days are great for relaxing.
  10. There's a bunch of cruise snobs... love to complain and *****. Ship's too dirty -- even though I witness the crew cleaning areas that they cleaned an hour before day after day. MDR dinner is less than edible -- I guess expecting a steakhouse experience without actually paying for it. Musicals and shows that are dull -- expecting Broadway performances for a shipboard price. Service that doesn't meet expectations -- is not white glove service. Speaking of white glove service, there are many passengers walking around with their white gloves declaring that the ship is nothing but filthy.
  11. This is all starting to make sense. There are usually multiple versions of an application, each supporting different operating systems and different browser types. The web-site versions used by laptops and desktops are usually the 'Gold' versions. I personally use only this version when making important transactions like banking, reservations, and in this case, check-in as they have the least amount of issues.
  12. You can also use it towards the purchase of the Cheers package before boarding.
  13. What device were you using to do your check-in on, that did not work ?
  14. What device were you using that worked, and what device were you using that did not work ?
  15. You are responsible for all required documentation. Carnival does not provide any help. Carnival states: Carnival requires guests to provide proper travel documentation in order to travel. The documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise and is the responsibility of the guest. Our policy states that any guest traveling without proper documentation will be denied boarding the ship and will be under full penalty, and therefore, will not be offered a refund or a replacement cruise. Guests must contact the appropriate embassy or consulate of the countries they will be visiting for specific travel documentation requirements. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.
  16. Yes, it true that the only drinks with the 18% are those charged to the S&S individually. While you pay an 18% surcharge for gratuities for the full Cheers package daily price, or $10.80, after 5 drinks, the gratuity percentage declines significantly. So, if you have 10 drinks, then you are only TIPing half that amount, or 9%. 17. You're asking people to admit that they have gambling losses... ? 🤣
  18. I'm still trying to decern why someone would need to shave a few minutes off the amount of time they would wait in line for a cocktail... you're on a ship... where are you in a hurry to get to ? 🤣
  19. You sound like a reasonable person...

  21. Make sure you have your luggage tags on your luggage. The tags will also have "Priority" printed on them. Then the Steward knows your bags belong to that room and cruise.
  22. What is nice is that once StockPerks verifies your shares, then you can use their App to redeem all cruises going forward ( currently, for cruises through Dec 2024 ). I had booked a couple more cruises later and was able to easily redeem my shareholder OBC for those cruises. Previously, I would have had to send in a new request to Carnival for each newly booked cruise.
  23. Yes... Platinum, Diamond, and FTTF is allowed to but only to drop them off in your room. You cannot stay. Drop and Leave, they say.
