  1. That's good to know. I was booking directly with RC because I wanted to pay with my cc and get double points. I will check out a TA next time to see what they offer.
  2. Do any of you have the RC cc? If you book with a TA, do you get the extra reward points? That's my issue.
  3. I don't know why people want an early boarding time. Rooms aren't ready. What can you do? I sailed on the Enchantment in August from Baltimore. We got to the port maybe 12:00 p.m. By the time we got on, we had to wait a little bit for our room to be ready. We dropped off carry ons and went to WJ. For April cruise, our flight gets in at 12:30 p.m. and then we'll head to port. Hopefully by the time we get onboard, our room will be ready. I think you've got a good plan. No reason to get onboard the ship early. Sleep in and relax.
  4. It's a Turkish cruise operator so I don't know how reliable it is. Miray Cruises | Ship Management & Floating Hotel Accommadations (mirayint.com) Web site, once you get past home page, is in Turkish (I guess). I don't think English will be spoken much on the cruise.
  5. It sure is. My daughter got Covid on a cruise. Fortunately it wasn't too bad as she had her vaccines.
  6. Yep, but she didn't. I was able to get my pin on my cruise last August, but she wasn't with me and they wouldn't give it to me even though she had earned it. I should have insisted. Then C&A was supposed to mail it, but it's been 6 months so I don't think it's going to happen.
  7. I visited Labadee on my first cruise in 2008 and I loved it. I didn't want to leave. Ship was tendered. Barefoot Beach with the hammocks was glorious. Merchants were not aggressive. I bought a couple items. Food was good. There was construction going on as they were adding to it. I have really fond memories of Labadee.
  8. No lapel pins for platinum. I guess my mother will never get her pin, which she earned when it was a perk.
  9. Exactly. I don't need more water. Give me my soda!
  10. I'm sailing April 1 and I see room. Are you sharing your son's room? Or is yours adjacent? RC will send out cruise contract with luggage tags so if all else fails you'll see your room number there.
  11. It will eventually give you a cabin number. Probably closer to your sailing. My set sail says Deck 6. No cabin number yet.
  12. Hmmm....I do have to go into the office occasionally, so I guess this won't work for me.
  13. I'm scheduled to sail on Explorer April 1. I hope all is well.
  14. I wasn't impressed with the entertainment on Enchantment last August. They had the same comedian for two nights. He wasn't good enough for one night. Then they had RC singers and dancers. They had another entertainer, but I went on an excursion so I don't know how he was. I'm hoping entertainment is better on my next cruise.
  15. I cruise in April and there are a lot of events in the app for my sailing. There's a 70's night.
  16. $20 per waitstaff each night is a lot of money. I can't afford that. I pay the gratuities RC charges. I don't pay extra. I am low-maintenance.
  17. Good idea. What happens when steward sees us both return from breakfast? 😆
  18. I chose morning, but after reading a few comments, I'm thinking maybe evening. I don't like coming back from breakfast and having to wait to get into room because I don't want to disrupt steward. I guess ultimately it doesn't matter because it may not be my choice. I try to keep room neat, but obviously there is still stuff to be done.
  19. You can do two adjoining cabins. There might be some suites with two bedrooms. I don't believe RCCL does solo pricing. I know you don't want to share, but they do have cabins that sleep 3 people.
