Wow… that’s a shame. I don’t mind them trying to make a profit since they had a couple of bad years with Covid….but that really takes the fun out of it. I never got an email like that but I did bid just above what they suggested in the first email. I am close to elite plus in points and diamond on RCCL. There is a lot of speculation on how they decide to chose who to upgrade. I’m not sure anyone knows.I just decided what I was willing to pay and stuck with it. Also, I went from a suite class to a better suite class. My brother made a bid and he was in a very inexpensive room. He probably could have paid the same price if he had chosen a better room originally. Also, I was notified a full 3 weeks before my Italy and Greece cruise. Not a few days before which is how I thought it would go.

I cruised two months ago. Mine said pending and low and behold I got it! I saw the charge go through before I was notified. It was so special! Seven glorious days in the penthouse suite on the Edge. My only complaint is the next time I cruise I will miss my suite!

I’m pretty sure Celebrity does not include your flight to and from Baltra, if you don’t buy the land package. That was my concern.I really don’t even want to go to Quito. I always get altitude sickness above 7000 feet. There is another city (starts with a G). I would have flown into if I did in on my own. My particular package which they are still offering also includes flights from the states to get to Quito. I’m annoyed however, they are only offering certain flights and I don’t like the itinerary. I may take the credit and book my own.

It is not cheap….but after researching on this site and talking to more than one travel agent, it is almost impossible to orchestrate on your own. If you miss the ship you are pretty much out of luck.

I also am frustrated by the people on the other end of the line at celebrity. I do use a TA for that reason. I am totally capable of researching and booking by myself but here and there my travel agent has advocated for me and this was priceless. Yesterday, I called for information on my Galapagos trip and was given all incorrect information. The connection was poor and the person was extremely hard to understand. I think she was sick. I also chose the option when I called that I was working with a travel agent. I wonder if they send you to lower level, people because they don’t make much money on you if you booked through a TA. I know good help is hard to find, but I look at their employment site all the time (because I would love that job)and never see them advertise. I assume they just go off shore for cheap labor.

Yes we just got off the Edge and every good chaise lounge had a towel and a magazine on it. I asked some nearby people if anyone was sitting in this area and they said no. I scooped up their stuff and laid their for two hours. No one ever returned. I do believe the waiters could have helped. The retreat deck was about 80 percent towels and 20 percent people. Otherwise no complaints. I was just surprised. Even a sign would have helped. Maybe?

I just called FBC for my Galapagos cruise. They did not have all the flights available that I could book by myself. I get $750. To spend on flights through the cruise package I purchased. If I reject their options and book my own flights, they give me a $500. credit per person. I asked why all the options available were not offered to me, the agent said the airlines don’t release all of the options and/or it doesn’t fit with their airport transfers. So I have to decide if I want control over my airline bookings for about $250. per person. The real issue is they are not offering me a non-stop home and I know the flight exists.

I have never laundered anything I loved on a ship. I have tried a few times and very unhappy with the results. Maybe they have improved.????? I haven’t bothered to in 5 years beyond maybe socks.

Our Independence sailing is up to $82. A day. Probably because there is not much else to do at Nassau and Coco Cay. That’s too much especially when my cabin-mate hardly drinks. I’m hoping they lower it.

We are doing the Linda’s tour on Celebrity September . I looked on Trip Advisor and Viator for ideas Rhodes was the one stop where nothing jumped out as a must see.

My daughter and 5 others just finished a RCCL Italy and Greece cruise. They all had just the surf package and had no problem. They were however in port in Split Croatia since that was the day before they disembarked in Venice. They all reported the testing was very smooth and easy. Some of them shared internet, since they did not all buy the package.

What is a good insurance policy???? Seems confusing.I looked at Allianz
