    Marina Redo

It's amazing how it could be falling apart after the redo, yet when I was on it in February, pre- redo, it seems fine. Or maybe I'm just not a complainer.
  2. Seriously, well, this way to the egress John, come see the fabulous egress.
  3. Glad you got that worked out. If I'm not mistaken you'll need to clear customs/immigration, go through security again and then get to your gate. If that's still the case or the case in your instance, then no way you would have made it.
  4. Ding ding ding, we have a winner. This is why I didn’t click and watch it. I didn’t want to subsidize their views.
  5. Thanks for posting this. I would have been willing to bet it was more like 2012 or so, but I would have lost that bet.
  6. At the present time we have a mixture of cruisers that booked under Olife, Simply More, or no perks at all. I would think the person that is serving you would need to be able(authorized) to operate the computer system that would either charge you for a drink, know that you have the drink package with Olife, or you have SM. The person filling your water glass doesn't have this authority. When all this settles out in the next couple of years and everyone onboard has booked under Simply More, then it would make sense to allow basic waiters/waitresses to just Simply pour you some More. Having said that, much of the problem is space management. I've seen Wine servers, recently, operating multiple corners of the GDR. They were running all over the place, wasting time and effort. If each of them had a section, then they could operate more efficiently. It would seem a real basic concept, so maybe I'm missing something.
  7. I appreciate your observations as we are going to be on Nautica in a few weeks. Just an FYI, Roll Calls on Cruise Critic were already irrelevant before Simply More, but for Oceania Roll Calls it's might just be the straw that breaks the camels back.
  8. I've seen them provided to other lines, while I've been on them and also other lines that have been in Port the same day we're there on Oceania. Businesses can't sell to people that aren't there.
  9. I think the average pour here is a little bit bigger.
  10. Same here in the middle of the Midwest.
  11. Well now wait a minute. They have been known to offer an upgrade at less than the going rate, but on a case by case basis, and generally where it will benefit them. You can also offer less than the going rate for a room above your level, whether they take it or not is another matter. I've also read comments where people asked at Guest Relations and were able to upgrade for less than the going rate. I've personally never tried it. But as a rule there is no system set up where you can bid for upgrades like some other lines.
  12. Yeah, it kind of seems like whoever wrote that for that TA website was trying to rewrite the Dress Code to suit what they think it should be, as we've seen so many people do here over the years. It's pretty simple.
  13. Just for the record for those that didn't see it over the weekend. This is from a Travel Agency website and NOT Oceania's website.
  14. Do you have a link to this? My Oceania website doesn't have that at all, must be in a different place than Frequently Asked Questions.
  15. That's one of those marketing things. Just like many Travel Agencies like to advertise the perks available to everyone as some special they're doing, O is just as guilty for taking credit for providing shuttles in their marketing materials, but let something go wrong or people not be happy about the shuttle service then Guest Relations will be the first to tell you they have no control over it, it's provided by the Port, local town, etc.
  16. Yes, but all the ships have drink packages and wine tastings.
  17. The sommelier desk, or station, seemed to be a moving target on Regatta this past April. Sometimes outside Terrace, sometimes outside Martinis, sometimes on deck 5.
  18. Not necessarily, Shorts are specifically mentioned in Currents as being OK to wear in Terrace in the evening. Many people can't get past the old time thinking of no shorts in public after 6. That ain't this cruise line. But most dining venues do require long pants in the evening.
  19. Oceania has no such rule. Don't overthink it. Shorts are ok anytime anywhere on Oceania except for evening dinners, with the exception of the Terrace. Shorts are ok and allowed at dinner there. They are not allowed at Tea, Captain's Reception, and Repeaters Party, although I have seen them then. I've never seen any restriction concerning the evening show, most people wear what they wore to dinner, so if you wore shorts to the Terrace you'd probably be OK.
  20. On one cruise we were on the port stop for London was Dover. Wasn't a bad bus ride.
  21. Exactly, and perhaps this post should be on that Cruise Line's Forum.
  22. Which deck is this on Oceania?
