  1. Thanks! Looks like y'all had a great time. That's probably the best passenger video I've seen of a cruise ship. Though I must admit I watched it at double speed. It definitely gives me a better feel for what to expect.

Vicki, love and marriage sounds like fun. Maybe we'll get lucky and be in it.

Yes, agree, that one was a bit slow...realizing that, I did another one from our cruise this spring on the Jewel (a smaller ship) that I sped up and used more upbeat music. Also, it's half as long.

In any case, congratulations on your upcoming wedding and have a great time on your honeymoon.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  2. Thanks for sharing!!! Where did you go in Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados? We are doing this cruise, but with the above ports, and St. Thomas and St. Kitts in Dec. 2016.

Hi Karen...thanks for the kind words. In Antigua, we did the Catamaran cruise with lobster lunch through RCI. In St. Lucia, we did a private tour through Joy's Adventure which you can find on TripAdvisor. I highly recommend Joy's. In Barbados, we simply took a taxi to the Harbor Lights beach club. We loved the Jewel (second time on the ship) and loved the itinerary...I am sure you will have a great cruise as well.

  3. Hi there! My hubs and I are going on a southern Caribbean cruise out of Puerto Rico on December 3. We will be going to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, St. John, St. Lucia, and Barbados. What do you guys recommend in these ports--more specifically, St. Maarten, as we are opting out of an excursion there?

Anyone else on this cruise? Holler! :)

Here are my recommendations based on tours we have done:

St. Maarten - we were very happy with a full island tour with beach time with Bernard's tours, booked independently. If you don't want a full island tour, just off the pier there will be taxi drivers waiting. Have one take you to Maho a Beach and/or the Sunset Grill to watch the planes land right overhead. Bernard's will include Orient Beach in their tour which is beautiful.

St. Kitts - highly recommend Thenford Grey's grand island tour with beach time, again booked independently.

St. Lucia - we recently did Joy's Adventure which was spectacular. Again, booked independently.

In Barbados, we took a taxi to Harbor Lights beach Club. Others have also liked The Boatyard.

You can also check out my video which will give you some ideas.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  4. Appreciated your very professional video especially since we depart Thursday on Jewel.

One question - it appears that you stayed at the Caribe Hilton. Years ago they provided lockers so that non-guests could use the beach facilities at a nominal price. Do you know if they still offer this service?

Hi, and thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your question about the lockers at the Caribe Hilton. We certainly enjoyed staying there and will return on future cruises.

  5. Loved your video :) we were on Adventure that week and were in St Lucia with you! Our cruise on Jewel is one of my favorites, your video brought back happy memories.

Glad you enjoyed it! We have two cruises booked on Adventure. We have really enjoyed the Southern Caribbean. Also, as a side note, at the beginning of the Jewel cruise, we didn't know anyone on the cruise. All the folks in the video were met via our CC roll call...so be sure sure to join yours and actively participate!

  6. Thanks for sharing your Cruise. Looks like you were having a blast. We sailed the Jewel September of 2015 and doing a B2B Cruise on the Jewel April 2017.The Jewel is our Favorite RCCL ship.

How exciting! It looks like Jewel's dry dock was successfully completed on schedule...she is currently at Port Everglades awaiting her departure at 4:30 this afternoon for a short cruise prior to departing for her TA later this week. You can watch her sailaway live at the link below.

  7. Great video. We were on the week before you, and had a GoPro as well. We are trying to cut it down to four minutes (one song's worth), but that is proving to be quite difficult!!

Thanks. I had a lot of trouble with the GoPro software crashing due to the length and size of the video, but there are some instructional videos on YouTube that helped get past these obstacles. We had a lot of fun on the cruise and I enjoyed putting the video together. I am glad you liked it. Did you have the Aruba/Curaçao route?

  8. At that time, we had access to the Concierge Lounge...the new one after dry dock will be in the old Hollywood Odyssey. Diego is one of the best Concierges ever. Also, the suite breakfast in Chops was outstanding. We were also on the Jewel two weeks ago in an aft JS. There is something about that ship....we had a fabulous time and I am sure you will as well.
