  1. My next booking also went up by $400,the website still says 3rd passenger is free for my sail date, but when a mock booking is done my daughter is now paying a $400 fare plus port fees(previously just port fees)

  2. I called this week and was told that current promotion was going to be extended for another month (the choose between UDP, UBP, etc...)

Without sounding rude or stupid, why would it be advertised as ending today if they are continuing this promo?

  3. Trust me I do get the point and understand the discussion. I'm fine with people having a different opinion on the subject and I'm fine with those that agree.

The things I take exception with are simple:

Some here feel NCL owes them some explanation, apology or notice because they changed a policy. They don't and while it may be a bad way to go about implementing a change that's what they chose to do.

NCL and care about making money. They don't care if you have booked once or 1000 times with them. The only thing they "give" you is a loyalty program that you can enroll in for discounts/perks on future cruises(which you pay for anyway through the bookings you make). This whole "I was loyal and this is what they have done to me" argument is just nonsense. Your a number to NCL, they are not your friend.

You in turn have the right to use or not use the RS or specialty dining, NCl didn't take that away from you. All they did was increase the cost for you to do so.

You also have the right to take your business elsewhere in the future.

As far as the DSC increase goes? The increase is a difference of $13.30 for two people on a 7 day cruise. If that amount(or the small amount for a longer cruise or more people) breaks your budget then if it were me I would come to the conclusion that I just can't go on a cruise.

I don't mind having a healthy discussion on any topic and I know that not everyone will agree with my opinion. That however doesn't mean I will write off that poster entirely because there is a good chance that I will agree with them in the future.

  4. Absolutely, people need to wake up, this is either going to happen or it won't, crying about it on CC won't stop it, call NCL direct, call FDR or simply accept this new fee for what it is..... A minor fee that was introduced with little to no warning or an explanation, handled very poorly by NCL and even worse by the cry babies who are too lazy to walk and get a cup of coffee, the new menu with the fee will offer more than day old pastries and crappy drip coffee, well worth a few bucks.

  5. I really don't think 'having a tight budget' has anything to do with this.

I really think it's the fact that when one booked their cruise and paid for their cruise the cruise they booked and paid for INCLUDED free room service. They can't cancel because they are past the cancellation period unless they wish to lose money. NCL has the absolute right to do this.....however, IMHO, they should have grandfathered in those who already paid and who are/were past their cancellation dates as they really didn't get what they paid for.

Me? I can't imagine what the temperature of the 'hot' food will be once it gets to my cabin as even in the MDR it's not really 'hot', Taking it from the kitchen to my cabin will take even longer....therefore it will be 'less hot' then in the MDR. LOL

I can see that point of view, if this new system sticks and is implemented fleet wide, they better deliver hot food to ensure its worth the fee. When we were in the OS on the Sun our food was piping hot and free so I expect the same for a fee

  6. Either side is fine you go by the coast on both sides, lava is a crap shoot if it is flowing or not, you can watch the coast from your balcony then move to the public spaces or vice versa, I think the real winners are those in forward or rear facing corner suites/cabins

  7. Not sure why this "blows your mind" other than the fact that it coincides with the Concordia sinking. Crew smuggling happens all the time, on hundreds of ships worldwide, in any port in the world. You could even make this into a "don't remove the DSC" thread, because the poor underpaid crew had to resort to smuggling. DEA dogs routinely search cruise ships in US ports, and frequently find contraband.

It's just a title so people would read it, I'm well aware of the dirty business as I work within the shipping industry, primarily ocean going vessels
