  1. I asked this already regarding Ocean Blue---- I am fine with the Red Lobster, or any other steak restaurant that does serve fish. But I can't handle a strong "fishy" smell in a restaurant. Most people on this forum said that there was no noticeable fishy smell at Ocean Blue on the Bliss. So I am looking forward to Ocean Blue. Food Republic has a few items that look really good- my husband loves sushi- I saw for me a tempura item, chicken and a shish kabob looking steak thing--- If the restaurant isn't "fishy odored" then I can eat there. Thanks in advance for comments. Anita
  2. Just saw above response--- I will go ahead and request with the concierge pre-cruise- I will also then check with concierge upon boarding whether my requests were accepted.
  3. Thanks for the info. I'll will call the Haven pre-cruise desk first, just in case, as I like to take care of as much "stuff" prior to embarkation. It looks like it probably will need to be handled on the ship- just wanted to know what the procedure is.
  4. Thanks Stefmaia--- That answers my question. I will then have a list ready as you have done. So I guess I should hang out in courtyard after boarding, 11:00 ish.
  5. Gary, I have enjoyed reading all your postings. I may have missed this in your postings, so forgive me if this has already been addressed: On a future cruise, I have booked a Haven spa suite- I spring for two massages on a cruise- sometimes it is good, sometimes actually really good. What I want to know, is this: If I contact the concierge, prior to cruise with preferred days and times for the massages, would the concierge be able to book this for me before boarding the ship? If not, is this something the concierge can take care of as soon as I get on the ship (Bliss)? I really don't want to stress out dealing with hoards of cruisers at the spa to book these, if I can avoid this. Thanks.
  6. I do know that the spa suite just includes admission to the spa. I just want to know whether contacting the haven concierge prior to the cruise would take care of these appointments.
  7. On my next NCL cruise, we have booked the least expensive Haven cabin, the spa suite--- Can the concierge pre-book spa appointments prior to cruise? If not, can the Haven concierge book the requested spa appointments on embarkation day ahead for the entire 1 week cruise? Or can I submit pre requested times and days to the concierge, pre- cruise, and would I find out if those appointments were scheduled when I meet with the concierge on embarkation day? Thanks in advance for information regarding my questions.
  8. Interesting the comment that NCL will refund unused refundable OBC but just in cash. I would think it would be easier for them just to put back on credit card. Hmm.
  9. Thanks Zggyuk--- I had called NCL's horrible customer service and couldn't get a straight answer-- I think I will try to email customer service and get it in writing, that gifting oneself OBC is refundable after the cruise for any money not spent- going back on credit card. Funny, Princess and Celebrity-- very easy to get a straight answer--- apparently it is common on those cruise lines for people to add OBC as a kind of small debit "bank"--- I guess on NCL not so much. Interesting.
  10. You know, I am the original person who started this thread. I never gave it any thought regarding people who reside outside of the US in terms of exchange rate. I just was wondering if any one HAS gifted themselves OBC of lets say $500 or so for a 1 week cruise, and had refunded back to their credit card any money that wasn't used on the ship. You see, I do this all the time on Princess and Celebrity- so that I don't have any charges from the vacation showing up on my credit card, well after vacation is over. Psychologically I like to think of my cruise as an "ALL inclusive resort"---- It has worked out for me very well on the other cruise lines. I haven't been on NCL for several years, so I am wondering what the policy is recently. I would only do my usual $500 if I know for sure that I will get unused money refunded. Never had a problem on the other cruise lines.

  12. I am thinking about maybe springing for 1 night pre NCl cruise at Marriott or Edgewater at Pier 66 Seattle-- What I want to know: does the hotel porters there offer luggage assistance for the short distance to ship? I have never taken a cruise out of Seattle before---- so I don't know what to expect at the pier. Also are there stevedores the way it was(is) in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale? My husband and I are in our late 60's and will each have 1 large suitcase and 1 carry on. If there is no one available for luggage help, we may be better off just staying at an airport hotel, then getting our own transportation to the ship, so less distance with luggage. Thanks for any info. .
  13. We did this a few years ago--- We took a bus that left right next to Hertz car rental. It went straight to Vancouver, dropped us off right in front of our hotel. Excellent connections. We had flown into Seattle a few days earlier, rented a car from Hertz to get us to a lovely hotel with free parking and transportation to the local spots. The day before the cruise, we dropped off the car at Hertz, hoped on that bus, and that was that.
  14. I appreciate the comments, but I need to know specifically, whether or not for the BLISS, Juneau time is 7:00- 12:30 (all aboard time)-- this specific excursion- the one where a small boat meets the cruise ship - 5 hours? and goes through the glaciers (assuming that ice isn't a problem) was actually available during the last summer when this was the short schedule for Juneau. So please, anyone who did the Alaska 7 day trip on the BLISS this past summer and knows about this, I sure would appreciate comments.
  15. For those of you who did the Alaska Bliss itinerary this past summer, I was just wondering about Juneau-- the port time is short- 7 am to all aboard at 12:30.--- Was the Endicott small boat excursion to the glaciers still offered by NCL for the Bliss? Thanks in advance for info.
  16. Thanks for all the info. So to get in to cavern club for each Beatles show, do you need to line up an hour early? Are any show times less crowded than others? ( Just trying to figure out restaurant reservation times)
  17. I was just wondering, when the "Beatles" perform at Cavern Club- Is one show, early Beatles, another Sgt. Pepper Beatles, etc? Thanks.
  18. Ok, maybe I didn't word things exactly right with my question. What I meant with "nickled and dimed"- maybe wrong expression here, was that I hate going home after a cruise and having additional charges show up on my credit card from that cruise. I have been on many cruises, usually with Celebrity and Princess- I have had two with Royal and this would be my third with NCL. What I have done in the past, is gift myself OBC for $500--- I prepay all my excursions, Specialty restaurants, wifi, service charges, etc. figuring that whatever incidentals I purchase on cruise- would just get paid for by the extra cash that was placed on my card. So on most of my cruises, I have had maybe $100-$150 refunded to my card. Once I did owe around $20, but that was it. I just like feeling that I am on an all inclusive vacation. It has been about 5 years since I have been on a cruise, so I don't know what NCL policy is today with this. I did call up to ask, (twice) but I have found that the agents frankly weren't very knowledgeable and didn't give me a straight answer. I just want to know that any gifted OBC is fully refundable after cruise--- I don't want to wait on a line to get the money back in case, just want the refund back on my credit card, which was done in the past without any problems.
  19. Benny- thanks for the review----I have a question(s) regarding the Beatles shows. Do the singers first do their whole act with costume changes, at the main theater? At the Cavern club are each of their shows different- One for "early" Beatles, one for Sgt. Pepper stuff, etc? Since I think you went to a few Beatle shows, I think you are the one to best answer this! Thanks in advance, Anita
  20. On Princess and Celebrity, I have "gifted" my self with OBC-- If any money wasn't used, I received a refund of that amount back on my credit card. If I do this with NCL, and not use all the money, will I also be refunded the remaining amount? ( I like to do this, as I hate feeling nickled and dimed when on a cruise--)
  21. Ok, reading all these responses, I will make a reservation in advance for O.Blue. Once on board the ship, I will "sniff" around, pun intended around dinner time. I think I will make the reservation for then end of cruise, just in case.... On another note-- has anyone ordered the full lobster there? Usually when I am on a Norwegian cruise, I get the surf and turf at Cagneys. Just wondering if the lobster is worth doing at O B. Thanks in advance for all the responses to my inquiries.
  22. For those of you who have eaten at this sp restaurant: At the risk of sounding, well "weird"-- here goes: Does this restaurant have a super fishy smell? The reason why I ask, is that I am super sensitive to really smelly fish restaurants-- ( Am fine at Red Lobster) or regular restaurants that serve fish as well as meats. A few years ago I was in Seattle and went to Pikes market, had to leave fairly quickly do to all the fish being sold around it. Wasn't pleasant to say the least. Any way, I would like to use this restaurant as one of the specialty package, if it has a regular odor. Thanks, Anita
  23. First thanks to all who responded to my question regarding specialty package for basic Free at Sea deal. Ok, so the regular package means both my husband and I get 2 days of eating at a specialty restaurant included with this. If we do upgrade to the plus Free at Sea, we would then get 3 days of eating at a specialty restaurant included with the price. Another question I had, which I think I posted someplace else--- If I pay for any upgrades now and end up having to cancel the cruise (has never happened to me yet) would I be refunded the extras as well ?- I'm talking by the final due date of payment for cruise.
