  1. I have been on the Reflection and Solstice, and the walls were "magnetized" so I can hang things up using magnets. Very convenient. Also there were storage places above the bed, so I used a few of the collapsible storage cubes in them. Just wondering if the set up is the same on the Eclipse, which is my next cruise over Thanksgiving. Appreciate the information. Thanks, Anita
  2. My condolences to your dad's passing, Candy----- I will call the concierge at the phone number you suggested--- and perhaps make sure Ocean Blue is booked first. I'm starting to remember the last time I was on an NCL cruise (non Haven)-- we were stuck with 5:30 reservations as well, but we found the service so slow in all the specialty restaurants available at the time, that we basically sat for about half an hour or so any way until the food started arriving. I think we were finished eating around 7-7:15ish, Once the food started arriving, the service was ok. So it did work out in the end, I guess. On Celebrity, I always get 6:00 reservations without any problem. But I think the food generally is much better on NCL with many different restaurants and choices.
  3. I was away from my computer so I didn't see your response right away, sorry about that. Thanks so much for replying. Can reservations be done on line? It has been 4 years since I was last on an NCL cruise so I forgot the procedure. So if not, do I call the regular NCL phone number first, make whatever reservation times I can get and then email NorwegianConciergeDesk@ncl.com to get them changed ASAP?
  4. Hi Candy Apple--- So it isn't done online? I haven't been on NCL for several years and I have forgotten the procedure. So at 130 days at the earliest, call the pre conciege. How was Ocean Blue booked if you were one of the first to call? I don't get it?? I will need reservations for Ocean Blue, Le Bistro, Cagneys, and Q. We could have reservation if we had to, at the earliest at 5:30--- I figure that it will be 6:00 before food is served.anyway. We like to get dinner out of the way to have a little time before heading for an evening show (later one) which I think is usually at 8:30--9:30 or so. I hope it works out for you.
  5. A question to Sthrngary re booking sp restaurants-- I have booked a Haven spa cabin-- 4 specialty restaurants are included. I am planning to make the reservations 130 days ahead as soon as the window opens. Here is my questions: If the restaurant times won't work for us (We are old farts and prefer to eat dinner 5:30 to 6:30 ish) do we make the resservations anyway for the wrong times and then email the concierge to fix the times for us? Or do we not make the reservations on line at all and just contact the concierge? What do you advise. Thanks in advance. Anita
  6. Kudos to cruise critic--- I just saved a ton of money on my upcoming Eclipse Thanksgiving cruise. Last night I went on CC around 8:30 pm -- and saw the Labor Day flash sale on this topic. So I went on the web site and saw that a lot of my add ons: 2 excursions, wi fi package, etc. went down in price substantially--- So I called up hoping someone was still around to answer the phone at customer service-- surprisingly to me someone did pick up--- I explained that I wanted to change my pricing for a lot of stuff, but not at the expense of losing reservation times, etc. It took about an hour to get things all sorted out, including first making refund in obc for 1 sold out activity and 1 restaurant where it was booked for the time we needed--- The agent then applied the obc to the last thing that needed changing so that the end result was a savings of about $275.00. I would not have thought of checking for this sale, if I hadn't been reminded after going on this site. So thanks so much to all. Anita
  7. Ok--- I did what Gypsy2 said, and yes, my husband's card went through without any issues--- Wish I had thought of that sooner--- Just odd, as it is the same account, but he has a different number and security code. I had used my card two times without an issue with them. First to put down the deposit and then to upgrade a couple of things. I'm paying off the cruise each month until the month when final cruise payment is due. We'll see what happens then.. Thanks for all the replies- I really appreciate it. Anita
  8. Weird-- I've never had a problem with using an American Express card at Walmart-- Though I don't use it there very often- Another card pays back 2%---- Wells Fargo has a 3 % back card, no fee, that is similar to Costco-- I just don't want to be bothered, but I guess I will do that just for NCL cruises-- if the new Costco card doesn't work either.
  9. That's why I really do not want an NCL card----- I just want my 3 points per dollar with Costco. Well, we'll see if there is a problem when I receive my new Costco card. I've never had an issue with any cruise line with my costco card.
  10. This is driving me crazy. When I first booked this cruise- I made two payments so far--- no problems. But now NCL keeps getting card declined- while Costco says they did not decline card---
  11. Hi folks. I'm just wondering if any one on this board has had issues making payments using a Costco visa card. After 2 attempts both on line and with two different agents at shore excursion dept, the card keeps getting declined. I spoke with the Costco credit card customer service, and they insisted that the problem must be on NCL end. (I actually have a credit balance on Costco card). At the risk of sounding paranoid, NCL keeps sending me emails about applying for their NCL card. Could there possibly be any kind of connection? I really don't want the NCL card, because I already have $100 on board credit--- I don't want to spend my vacation trying to figure out how. I can spend the OBC Wish it can be used to purchase shore excursions, before cruise. Costco is sending me a new card since my present one is expiring in a few months. If the new card doesn't work with NCL, then I don't know what I will do.
  12. I hope you are all correct. I was told that no reservations can be made for lunch (captains club phone number) and that Sushi on Five would be open sea days only. I have had wrong information told to me from Celebrity often-- my fellow cruise critic members were (are) far more accurate! So I will keep my fingers crossed and make a lunch reservation onboard if available for Sushi on Five for the day we need it. If it turns out that a mdr is open (hopefully for aqua class use as well) on that day, then I may cancel Sushi appointment. Can items be purchased a la carte- or is it $30 per person flat rate at lunch time? (at Sushi)
  13. I just spoke with captains club-- I was told that you could not make a lunch reservation for Sushi on Five- and the rep didn't know if it would be open on a non sea day. I would be fine with a main dining room if it were open. I would actually prefer the main dining room. as the only thing I can eat at sushi is the chicken goyza and miso soup--- I am not a fish eater (my husband loves sushi)-- from what I looked on line, there were more non fish offerings at dinner---- I wish I could find on line a recent "Celebrity Today" daily- Mexico sailing- so I can see what would be available on Puerto Vijarta day-- 1:30 port time--- very frustrating.
  14. That was it-- I used cheapairport parking.com when I didn't need to spend the night at the hotel--- flight was in the afternoon-- so it was just easier for me to drive to hotel in the am, with plenty of time to catch the flight. But whenever I had a morning flight, I did stay, park and fly package-- Had a nice room for the night. I did use the Marriott a couple of times as well.
  15. On an upcoming cruise my husband's 70th birthday falls on a day where port time is annoying--- 1:30 ship's time and all aboard at 8:30 ship's time. We would prefer to "celebrate" by having a nice lunch on the ship around 12:00, then going to the resort for the late afternoon- planning to be back on board around 7:00---then just do the buffet or maybe room service, if we are just exhausted. We are aqua class, and Blu is not available for lunch. Any suggestions? Thanks, Anita
  16. I found the bus service just fine leaving the Hilton. Pick up wasn't the greatest, but do able. As far as pricing, I found one of the parking near LAX sites- cheap parking? or one of the others to be about the same price--- but I will certainly look into LAX parking if it really is that convenient.
  17. We often just park at the Hilton on Century Blvd. Their shuttle is easy to use from front of hotel. Pick up from terminal can take up to about 30 minutes- a bit annoying, but occasionally if you time it right, the wait could be just 5-10 minutes.
  18. If Enterprise will give me a ride to their office, I'll just use them. I got a decent rate on Costco-- Thanks. Anita
  19. unfortunately the Little Italy Avis will be closed in the afternoon (Black Friday)- and advised to use one of their other locations. I guess I will use Enterprise as I think it is the next closest location to the pier.
  20. I meant to say the zero package for non alcoholic beverages. Thanks for all the explanations.
  21. Thanks, now I know what to expect. Really appreciate it. Anita
  22. Mahasamatman----- Ok, so I guess the stateroom is covered, that is good to know, thanks for that info.
