  1. @kguerriero it’s as Scandinavian as it gets Gott & Blandat. The Swedish love small candy and they are the ones in the world eating the most “self serving” candy from the grocery store. It’s in all shopping carts in Sweden on Friday and Saturday for the weekend 😅 and off course Gott & Blandat. Vine gummy and salty licorice is a winner 🏆. Very happy you enjoyed Denmark & Sweden🥰 (you will love Norway then😍😉)
  2. So time’s fly when your having a good time…. Watched some movies and did some work on our way. Crew has been very active. Walking water in the cabin and other beverage choices and snacks in the plus cabin. Extra food was Polar bread🙌🏻 it’s a Scandinavian thing😝 The weakest point on SAS is the IFE assortment. There are movies, series, games, music etc. But compared to SQ, TG, LH it’s not super. Around 4h before landing in MIA, the captain had to switch on the seatbelt sign and crew had to go to their seats. The sign was on for 30.min but it was really no turbulence compared to what we have on Widerøe when we fly north to the family🤪🤪🤪 just some light bumps😉 1.45h before landing in MIA it was time for brunch. Turkey and pumpkin plate. Drinks as requested from the assortment onboard. The captain just announced that we are 45.minutes away from landing in MIA🥰
  3. So, de-ice took one hour❄️❄️❄️ Lots of snow to take off…… Then another 30mins to clear the runway❄️❄️❄️ So at 14.30 it was finally time to 🛫 take-off🙌🏻 The blanket provided in Plus is a full duvet. So warm and cosy. There is a usb plug in the screen and a US stick down in the armrest on your seat. One for each passenger in plus. Today’s main course is a choice of salmon spinach or lasagna for dinner. Choices of red, white, sparkling wine, sodas, beer, cocktails, juice, coffee, tea and sparkling water. Service started by drinks and nuts for aperitif. Then it was dinner service. Everything is served on a tray. Starter today was smoked cod and pickled carrots. Main course was salmon spinach, hollandaise and dill mashed potatoes. Warm bread, dry bread, butter and Camembert cheese. Dessert was blueberry cake, Swedish style. Everything tasted perfect and the fish was perfectly cooked. As you understand, we have WiFi onboard. It’s 8h left to Miami.
  4. Mr Norwaylady is very happy for 🍺 beer. And he really enjoy IPA and Mikkeller. So he was so happy for the new one😂😂😂 I don’t drink beer at all🙈 So a great fit😂😂 one is a big beer fan and one doesn’t drink beer at all😝 on long haul the bar is bigger🍹🍾🥂🍺 Intra Scandinavian is only 1h….
  5. Our flight to MIA is an Airbus 330-300. It’s one of the older SAS aircraft’s. Unfortunately they can’t retire it yet😝 It has 3 classes. Business, Plus and Eco. Konfiguration is 1-2-1 in Business 2-3-2 in Plus 2-4-2 in Eco. Flight time is 10.50h Departure 13.00 Arrival time: 18.50 local time We are seated in SAS Plus. Seating 24AB Window+isle. SAS plus has wider seating and better seat pitch. Bigger IFE screen and you have unlimited drinks and snacks during your flight. Menu for dinner and pre arrival snack is upgraded compared to Economy. amenity kit. Toothbrush, shoe bag and eye mask. In SAS Economy you must pay for alcoholic beverage and snacks between dinner and arrival serving. You receive a bottle of water and a complementary soft drink for meals. If we can’t get bonus tickets in business. We always book SAS Plus on long haul. The extra space and upgraded menu is worth the extra money for us. At ARN they are renovating terminal 5. This means reduced areas to public, less shopping and longer lines in immigration for departure from Schengen/EU. They will finish the renovation during 2023. It was approximately 15.min waiting time in immigration. Pre boarding to gate lounge was open from 11.30. We walked from the lounge around 11.40 and was all cleared and pre boarded at 12.10. Flight is completely fully booked. Lots of Norwegians going to SeaTrade conference. Biggest event for cruise/shipping of the year. At Arlanda it’s full winter. The snow is falling down…. IMG_5250.MOV So need to stop by de-ice❄️❄️❄️ Aircraft is covered in 5cm of snow❄️ Estimated flight time is 10.40h see you in Miami
  6. So our flight to ARN/Stockholm is operated on a CRJ900. It’s 2-class configurations. SAS Go and SAS Plus. Seating is 2+2 totally 90 seats. We are seated on 4DF in SAS Plus. Flight time 1.05H according to schedule. Service in Plus is beverage and light snack. SAS Go has complementary coffee/Tea and items for purchase. Full flight today. Majority is transit passengers continuing on Thai Airways to BKK and US flights on SAS. Excellent 💨 wind, expected flight time 35.min… Needed a little detour on de-ice before takeoff. Service in Scandinavian style. Today’s choices are everything on the menu of cold/hot beverages. Choices of chocolate, chips, nuts, muffin and dry bread. So off course Mr was a happy camper🤩 SAS has their own beer from Mikkeller. They just received a new IPA for the spring meny onboard🥳 Cheer’s 🍺 Flight landed on time and we are comfortable seated in the SAS Lounge. Enjoying the view of the airport. Menu in the lounge has converted from breakfast service to lunch. Typically clean Scandinavian menu. Next flight to MIA is at 13.00.
  7. We don’t have the same last name, so that’s first “problem”…. Next “problem” is that Norwaylady don’t look to old🙈 So we have had problems in customs due to this… And we have been married for 12,5years😂🥰 So we just take precautions and have it in the travel documents.
  8. Mum’s Taxi 🚕 picked us up 07.15. It was drizzling 🌧️ but as soon as we left the city area it transformed into wet snow ❄️ King Winter is Holding on… So happy to put on light shoes🙌🏻 We arrived at the airport around 07.55. 5.minutes queue for check in and document check for US. No wait in security, so comfy seated in the SAS Lounge International side🥰 Mr Norwaylady picked up some coffee and “Cheers to a grate flight” pre drink🥂 Very kind, but to early for me🙈❤️
  9. They take good care of you🥰 Enjoy Eden😊
  10. It’s time to hit the show on the road🤩 So pre departure is always busy…. This time no difference! suitcases packed 17.9kg & 12.6kg cats delivered at grandparents Last crazy days at work All paperwork printed in the travel map (ESTA approval, covid paperwork for US flight, marriage certificate, vaccination card, voucher for tour, hotel confirmation etc) Checked in on our flights Handbags prepared for departure We really hope spring break won’t be to crazy when we arrive in Miami. We had it in the Norwegian news that it’s been extremely busy and stressful for the police and the locals in Miami/South Beach….. Time to go to bed😴 Tomorrow is travel day🙌🏻👍🏻😎🥂 Mum’s Taxi Service is picking us up at 7.15 am and first flight leaves at 09.30am to ARN.
  11. @Ken the cruiser you have a great cruise coming up! It has a great port of call listing👍🏻 This is definitely a great sailing. Since you will have all types of scenery. It’s very different from Western Norway to Northern Norway. I could have booked this route for myself❤️ @countess5 Welcome home! Has been a pleasure following your adventure🥂 Just finished my last team’s meeting before holiday🤩 So now it’s time to fix the rest on my must-do list before departure🤓
  12. @Dar & Bob and anyone else! Since I’m “obviously” sponsored by X future cruises division and VisitNorway😂😂 We have time for some more Norwegian teasers during my breakfast🌟✨🇳🇴 For those sitting on the fence of a cruise or land based holiday to Norway🇳🇴 This is the time! The NOK is very low. 1 USD = 10.60 NOK (normally 7-8NOK) 1 EUR = 11.70 NOK (normally 8-9NOK) So our trip to the US is 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 for the financial director🙈 and to help you push the book button: Lofoten Islands Å Reinebringen View+stairs and Reine Keep your eyes open and bring binoculars…. There are bird’s and if you are a dear devil…. You can walk to Djevelporten Trondheim, Old Town and Nidarosdomen Bergen, View from Fløyen & Ulriken Bryggen in Bergen Åndalsnes, View from Rampestreken and The Gondol Alta Nordlys katedralen, Alta Museum Art Rock and the View from their Beach Stavanger Sverd i sten and View from The local area of Jæren 71’N Loen, View from The Loen Skylift area ( we have climbed the Via Ferrata) Great day. But you can’t be afraid of heights! here you have plenty of good reasons to book a holiday in Norway🇳🇴 Bon Boyage!
  13. Tonight’s view from our living room….. This winter has been excellent for Aurora Borealis… aka NorthernLights in Oslo🇳🇴 Thats not very normal. Usually you need to be further north and in a darker place than the city. Normally I’m early to bed, but packing kept me up. Pictures are just raw, no photoshop. So lucky me🥰🌟
  14. I know you will have a great time on Jewel. I really like the ship and you are visiting on a great sailing🙌🏻 I will tease your travel fewer a bit🔥✨🌟 Welcome to Geiranger, this is in june IMG_9207.MOV Ålesund in june As you can see, the weather is changing daily. One day to another… When you are crossing the artic circle by Vikingen. Then you are straight by our cabin😌 When you arrive Honningsvåg, you can’t go further on mainland Norway 71’. Nordkapp You will walk in the streets of Mr Norwaylady. He grew up her his first years of his life…. (Still struggling to understand why he love’s colder climates? 😂) This is from July, expect everything from 2-20celsius. Kirkeporten, fine little walk. Beautiful view to Nordkapp. And of course…. You are never alone🥰 They are walking around all over the place😌 If this don’t tease you, you might want to rebook your cruise😂😂😂
  15. MoveUp As expected, we have not received a MoveUp mail and we can’t log in. But we are happy for our stateroom, so no worries😌
  16. We booked air tickets by points on SAS in December. We had some points we needed to use. So we are flying Sas from Oslo-Stockholm-Miami in SAS Plus. And will fly the same cabin home via Copenhagen. Our OBC has rewarded us by 4 shore excursions and upgrade from basic WiFi to stream WiFi. (And there are some OBC left to pay for my breakfast delivery if I want something hot) We will do following excursions onboard by X: Off road Dominican adventure via Polaris RZR day 3 Buck Island beach and snorkel day 5 Catamaran Sail and snorkel with beach break day 6 Catamaran Fan-ta-sea to Nevis whit snorkel day 7 In St Maarten we have booked a transfer to the beach Grand Case. We booked this from home before departure. We wanted to try a new beach in St Maarten First visit to St Maarten in 2014 we took a ATW tour to Orient Beach. Fun sightseeing tour on the island and beach break. Next visit we just had a walk into town and the beach. Unfortunately it was a knife hit and we were in the middle of the action😳🙄😬 So a bit shaken we returned to the ship after a talk to the police😰 Next visit we went to Maho beach for some plane watching😎 So this time we will try out Grand case😎 As you can see, we are happy for snorkel/sailing adventures on this sailing🐠🐡🐙 hopefully we will find Nemo🤿 Key West and San Juan PR has been visited several times. Key West by cruise and multiple overnight stay by car. So we have visited Hemmingway’s 6-toed cats, eaten Key Lime Pie, breakfast on Sunset Key island, sunset cruise etc. You get the picture😆 So it will be a lovely day for a walk. ( First time we went to Key West 2013 we were bidding on a new home in our neighbourhood😅 The open house was just before we left from home and the bidding in Norway is always 24h after Last advertised open viewing. So we had to fax offers from our hotel to the real estate agent…. Unfortunately we didn’t get the house, but we had some lovely days in Key West:) It only took us 9 more years to find a new house in the neighbourhood we wanted😂😂 (we had a very limited radius, so we only moved 600m from our old place) In San Juan we have been on a zip-line tour, bicycle tour and a walking food tour. So plans are still open. (But probably involves La Taberna Lupulo….) Hotels in Miami/Ft Lauderdale is wild💸💸 I have no words for those prices. So we have waited on the fence and hoped for the better….. We ended up booking Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach for pre-cruise stay. Got a okay deal from my booking tool at work. 2-nights for 470$+ daily 25$ resort fee. Hotels in Brickell area was from 1500$ for our stay…. So that’s a now-go for the financial planner🧐
  17. Buckle up, it’s time for a new adventure on the ocean. The vikings are tired of winter and snow☃️🥶 Our woollen socks has stayed on since we returned from Hawaii🥶 We have survived winter storms in the northern Norway on family visits. and we have shuffled snow so our arms can scratch our sole of the 🦶 foot Mr & Mrs Norwaylady are waiting for our flight to Miami and are ready for some sun and Caribbean heat😎 Just a small information for those who hasn’t followed us before. We are Jarle & Alexandra from 🇳🇴 Norway. (JA=yes in Norwegian) We live in Oslo, the capital of Norway. We have 2 British shorthair cats, they are our babies🐈‍⬛🐈 They are safe and cosy at their grandparents house🥰 (If you want more info, search up my live from Alaska+Hawaii🤓) Be prepared for some local beer, as someone might remember……..Mr Norwaylady is happy for local beers 🍻 Planning is always under sharp control of Norwaylady. Mr Norwaylady just shows up and hope for a beer and a good plan😝 We are kinda easy going. No need to stress, we can always solve the issue if it appears. And a great smile and happy tone always save the day🙌🏻 If you want to follow this trip and other adventures from time to time on IG you are welcome to search up: al_be_ra_bo https://instagram.com/al_be_ra_bo?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= It’s a closed account so just message me Hello from CC on IG🙂 (just tired of ladies selling pictures😵‍💫) We love to cruise and our favourite is X. It’s a good fit for our personality and our wishes for holiday. Our favourite class of ship on X is Millennium class. They are older, but they have a great floor plan and just have something we like❤️⚓️ So back to cruising⚓️ We haven’t sailed on Silhouette before. But we have sailed on Solstice class ships multiple times. So we know what we will get and it will be our last ship in Solstice class to sail. Then we have tried them all on multiple times. So it will be fun to see if our list of love-the-ship will change🙃 ( Millennium class is our perfect match still🥇 Connie is still the leader) We have sailed in the Caribbean several times. Last cruise in the Caribbean was b2b on Edge April 2019. Drumroll please! We have one new port of call: Nassau, Bahamas 🇧🇸🤩 (it’s a major reason for why we booked this b2b AND then we have sailed all ships in Solstice class🥳) I think that needs a cheer’s 🥂 🥳 So our cruise leaves from Miami and we will have a turnaround day in Miami. It’s a 10+4days b2b. So it will be fun to test a really short cruise and see how this effect the vibe of the cruise…. We are really testing new things on this cruise😜 The first part of our b2b will officially be our 15th cruise on X🥳🥳🥳 Cheers 🥂 As you know from earlier, the financial director is Norwaylady. Value for money is important. We always cruise in balcony or concierge stateroom. (Price decide if it’s balcony or concierge) This cruise is booked in Concierge. Price for balcony and concierge was similar, so that made it very easy. We booked all inclusive. So we have classic beverage+WiFi. It was an onboard booking, so we have some extra OBC. For the first time we are heavy rewarded by campaign and onboard booking. So we were given 800usd in OBC🤩🤩🤩 that’s wild for us. Normally we are extremely happy if we get 200 OBC. (Don’t ask, it’s a big difference if you are us client or from the Nordic…) What I can say, is that a guest from the Nordic is not a priority guest😝🤣 we are always the underdog in guest count’s🇳🇴😂 So not angry or offended🙃 just very clear of the hierarchy🤣🤣🤣 So Norwaylady is very happy for our value-for-money feeling on this b2b. We have the same stateroom for both sailings. Cabin 124x on deck 10. Really happy for our OBC, as some might remember, we love to have breakfast on our balcony. YES, Norwaylady is very upset and angry on X for the new fee on in-room orders🤨🤨🤨 It’s just so low-cost carrier’s🤥😳 And for concierge class this should be at least free of charge for all types of breakfast. It’s my big pleasure on a cruise! Finished on my angry tirade🥵🤯😤 Back to cruising⚓️
  18. I asked Visit Oslo if they had information in English for those that needs to be able to bring a wheelchair on museums, service dog etc. This is what they answered: https://www.visitoslo.com/en/oslo/practical-information/accessibility/ AND This is the lasted updated list they have for museums. So you will have an idea of what you can plan.....

  21. Very sorry to tell you that there are a distance to western part of Norway from Oslo. So there are no catamaran tours that can take you to the Fjords of Norway. You will have a lovely sailing into Oslo. You will pass Drøbak and Oscarsborg, it's a very narrow area during your sail in. Just to show how far in distance it is by car and why there are no day trips to areas where you will find the fjords. Make the best of your visit to Oslo! It's lots to see and do. We have 2 brand new museums, Munch and the national gallery. In the summer, the Royal palace has daily tours inside. The opera house has guidet tours also. Have a walk in Vigelands Parken, the sculpture park. You will have no problem of filling your time in Oslo. You can take the ferry to the islands, go for a swim on a hot day. Rent a sauna boat for a good view of the opera house and a lovely swim. Visit the folklore museum and Kon-Tiki. If you dear, go jumping in Holmenkollen ski jump. They have a fun zipline, so you can jump as the professional. The list is long and you WILL have a great time!
  22. @purpleally They follow Norway time midnight. So that means -6h Or for a very short week -5h... You turn the clock before Europe. We turn our clock to summertime 26.march
  23. @purpleally 90 days from today is 18 of June. So you will not be able to find a train ticket before 5.april 2023. Since 90 days from 5.april is 4.July. You might not be able to get a ticket on that day. Since it's in the middel of the easter holiday in Norway. And in Norway, we do take easter much more closed then compared to the US. So if they are not available, check again on the first working day after the public holidays. * you can see all public holidays in Norway in post 243. That means 11 of April.
  24. @purpleally When are you trying to book tickets? Sometimes its not 90 days before departure. https://www.vy.no/en/
