1. Yeah I'm confused. So the OP wants more kids, or doesn't want more kids? And at 22 she was concerned about the college kids on Spring Break? That's the same age as her.

I want a luxury cruise where a family of many ages can have fun

There were lots of kids on our mid-March 7-night W. Caribbean cruise out of Houston. Lots of kids' and teen activities took place in the Centrum, and there seemed to be a nice little kids' area with cool riding toys, in the open air but "fenced" in by a sturdy netting -- folks could see in and kids could see out, but not get out. Plus one or two nice kids' pools.

Great we will be going march 15, 2015 and we will also be leaving from Houston, were from Fort Worth Tx the kids ages 8, 13, 16

  5. Well, I have things set up to not be able to view signatures, so either cruise critic has a bug, or you cut and paste or type your signature in each time you post.

Many people turn off signatures like I do so that the pages load quicker, have less posts per page, and don't have to see all the "glitter" and flashing widgets, etc.

I fixed it sweetie it should look better now

  6. Free means free :D

...and just a thought for you. You don't need to cut and paste your signature on each posting. If you go to "UserCP" on the upper left corner, you will see where you can enter your signature, and it will be automatically applied to each of your posts.

I don't cut and paste my signature

  8. We sailed on Ruby Princess on March 15 this year for a 5 night cruise. It was also our first Princess cruise. I was actually surprised at the lack of kids and college students. The majority of the cruisers on our cruise were snowbird couples and groups from FL retirement villages...average ages late 50's - 80's. I only really saw some of the younger people around the pool area during the day and at the Ultimate Deck Party one night. Other than that I don't know where they were hiding. I expected to see some at the karaoke like we always do on CCL and NCL but they were not there. Just the older folks repeatedly singing "My Way". I didn't see many at all at the shows or where the bands were playing or even in the MDR. It definately was not what we had expecting and we even felt a little out of place in our 40's. I was very glad we didn't bring our teens on that cruise because they would have been bored silly.

I will be traveling with kids and a teen I am 22 I hope I won't feel out of place

  9. No big deal but two ships can dock at mahogany Bay where Princess docks , as it is owned by Carnival. We were there in March with the dream docked in front of us. The ships back in to dock..

  11.
You are going to have a wonderful cruise. so many good ideas here for you.

I like the cold Pina Colada soup the usually seve the first nigh. High caloric appetizers mean no potatoes for me.

Stairs are good. Skipping elevators whenever possible and walking the upper decks help most.
Piña colada soup sounds delicious I will have to check it out

  12. Rather than a ship excursion, we chose to book with Victor Bodden tours. It was fun and a great day for the money spent. We took the Zip N Dip group tour. The cost is $65 per person. The van picked up 10 of us at the cruise port and after about a 15 minute ride we arrived at the Mayan Jungle Canopy. We paid for our tour & were on our way to the zip lines. It does require climbing quite a few steps & inclines along with a cable & rope bridge crossing. There were a total of 12 zips thru the jungle from tree to tree platforms. Although I'm not very brave it was an experience I'm glad I did. My husband loved it. From there we took a short tour of the little zoo/monkey business. You can go in the pen with a couple of the monkeys and they love to dig in pockets and can open zippers on back packs in a few seconds! After this we left in the van for Bananarama on West Bay Beach. Beautiful beach, great water and delicious drinks there. Of course the drinks were not included. They did have lounge chairs for our use while there. The driver gave us the option of about how long we wanted to stay before returning to the ship. The group decided on about 1 1/2 hrs. It actually went by way too fast & we could have stayed longer. All in all it was a great day for our first time to visit Roatan.

This sounds like a lot of fun!!

  13. We went Cave tubing and Zip lining in Belize that we booked off the Princess Excursion page. It was a great day but strenuous if you aren't in the best of shape and it was a long day but well worth it. It included lunch.

How much was this excursion if you remember?

  14. No fee for the beach or lounges. There are fees for the water activities. There is a chair lift that can bring you from the mall over to the beach, and there is a fee for that. But, the walk is short on a paved path. We felt the chair lift was more of a novelty. Princess actually sells the chair lift as a tour. Seems like a waste. Your cruise card can not be used on this beach. We used cash at the bar. All transactions at the mall and beach are in US$.

That sounds great does the beach get very crowded

  15. you do not have to eat everything set before you....

If you KNOW you are going to want to eat the whole dessert...skip bread, potatoes...at dinner..to balance the carbs...don't finish the whole meat serving...

if there is rice, eat less of it.....

Relax and enjoy every bite of dessert....and when you think you have had enough...STOP!!!

The NY cheesecake is a big slice...as is the serving of Princess Love Boat Dream.....

BTW, you can always order sauces on the side...

I've done UBD and since I do not eat seafood, they gave me two filet mignon's. One went in the fridge cause it was just too much food....

It is good to plan ahead how you will make choices..balance is key

.but in the end...relax, and enjoy your vacation!

  16. I'm heading to Alaska in June, and my plan is "Enjoy my week, eat what I feel like, walk around a lot, and (since I use e-tools) don't worry about tracking or some number on a scale."

That said, I will pick something healthy over something less healthy - if the taste appeal is about equal... I just made my goal, but no qualms or concerns about getting some of it back temporarily. I do WW for diabetes control, not aesthetics  How I look is of concern only to one person in the world and it isn't me :D (we're doing the cruise for our 30th)
