  1. Make sure you go to the production shows at night. The Carnival Triumph currently has two great shows: Wonderful World and Big Easy

Try Guy's Burgers and the Blue Iguana Cantina (both are free). The Triumph has one of the best ice cream machines in my opinion on the Lido Deck. The ice cream was very creamy.

Are you planning on cruising on the Triumph out of Galveston or New Orleans?

We are traveling from Galveston on October 10

Also interested in brunch I am 23 and he is 25

  2. So has anyone cruised on triumph since the issues it was having in the past has this ship gotten any better since 2013?

Would you recommend staying midship 1st floor?

This is my first time cruising triumph , is there anything on the ship that I just have to try ?

    Thanks

    Miranda

  3. I do not know if there is more than one of these parks there.

We went to the Mayan Eden Animal Park. It is not a petting zoo although we were able to hold a kinkajou and a boa constrictor. The Capuchin monkeys may want to get on your shoulders.

We enjoyed our visit there which also included katamundi, aguti, white-tail deer, Macaws, butterflies, many flowers, and more.

The animals seemed to be well taken care of.

    That sounds lovely

  4. Good point! Fortunately for me it is just that I can't sleep if I have caffeine later in the day. For others, though, it can be a serious medical issue.

If I have too much caffeine my bladder closes off and I have to be catheterized which would be horrible on a cruise!!

  5. I saw no evidence of the behavior you describe on our mid-March Western Caribbean Princess cruise. As I said in another post, there seemed to be lots for tweens and teens to do. Don't know about 20-somethings, though. Can't say if they found each other and socialized, as if they did, it was not very much in the "realms" on board which my husband and I frequented (we are parents of offspring your age, but they were not on board.) But we are quiet cruisers and did not use the pools, nor go to trivia, nor hang around in the lounges, etc., so there may have been plenty of fun for twenty-somethings in those places. We certainly saw groups of young adults looking like they were having a great time, but I do not know if they were traveling together or if they had met on board. The exception to this was a good-sized special-interest singles' group, many of whom had by their own admission not met each other before they cruised.

I think you will have a fine time and all of your family will enjoy themselves on Princess.

I am sure I will find something to do maybe hang out in the spa or go dancing and have tea and see shows .

  6. A bit of advice-since this is supposed to be a family cruise, perhaps you should ask each member of your family what they would like to do on a cruise and where they would like to go.

Once you have decided on the area that you would like to visit,go on the Princess web site and chose a ship that has the itinerary that you would like to follow.

Then, check out the ship using the Princess web site.

Once you have the information regarding which Princess ship you would like to take and where you are going, then you may be able to post focused questions on this forum that will help you further plan your trip.

Right now, your questions are vague and difficult to answer.

Almost as though you have no real plans and are dreaming of a family cruise?

Another bit of advice-if this is the first family vacation you are planning, perhaps finding a good travel agent would be most helpful for you.

I already have a cruise booked I've been on many cruises just not with princess right now we are planning to be on the Emerald march 15,2015

  7. Miranda, I think we're all excited for you and we're glad you're excited... What I think you're seeing is that you are casting a wide net with your questions and not really asking anything. There is a point that it can become a bit annoying and folks will start ignoring your threads... which defeats your purpose. A couple of pointers for you:

    - I think most of "us" on this forum are probably your parents age (or a tad older) and happen to love cruising and Princess. Therefore it is safe to say that there is PLENTY to do for your parents. Leave it at that. Don't overplan.

    - As for you and your siblings, I will offer you the cruise history of my daughters who are now 18 and 20. They took their first cruise 8 years ago on the Caribbean Princess. They have since been on Carnival, RCCL and Disney. They prefer Princess (which surprises me). They have stayed in touch with other "kids" (when they first met them) from cruises many years ago. After a Disney cruise, they said "Dad, this was really great, but next time can we go back to Princess?" The kids/young adults program is great.. Your parents will feel that your younger siblings are safe and watched, but your siblings won't feel like they have a babysitter. They key for them is to go to the kids/teen program the first night of the cruise as that's the night the kids make their closer friends for the rest of the cruise. Honestly, when I have cruised with just my daughters, I almost feel like a singles-cruiser after dinner (we always do the shore excursions and have dinner together) as they always have friends to do things with.

    - Lastly, and probably most importantly, I think we would all suggest you look around the forum, go through several pages of threads, and try the SEARCH function BEFORE you start another thread. You'll likely find the answers to your questions, and better answers to your questions, because folks get tired of answering the same questions over and over again - especially when they answered the same question 1 or 2 or 3 days ago.

    Have fun...

Thanks that really helped a lot and I loved your kind advice thanks I want to be liked on the boards :) now time for me to relax and head out on a great cruise!!

  9.

Room service menus for non-suite cabins is pretty limited. Not really meals. You can go to the Horizon court and bring plates of food and eat in your cabin' date=' but again with four people, that might be difficult. We've done it with two of us (if he gets up early, my husband will eat in the Horizon and then make up breakfast plates for the girl and me), but the table in the inside cabins can be tiny so one of us would need to eat in bed or at the desk).[/quote']

I am starting to think having this tiny room is going to be an interesting experience.. How was horizon food? Can you eat breakfast and lunch in dining rooms?

  10. Don't know which Princess ship you're going on (it helps to state which one when asking questions because sometimes there's differences among the various ships). But on our Princess cruises, my daughter was 5, 7, 8, 13 and 15. (she already had been on a few Carnival cruises)

You can look on the Princess website for the exact breakdown for age groupings (which can be different if you're going at a time when there's fewer kids on board --when school is normally in session). Generally the younger kids from 3 to maybe 6 or so are in Pelicans. Older than that up to 12 are in Shockwaves. The teen center is called Remix and is for the 13 to 17 group.

When you first get onboard, there should be a packet of info for the youngest and a packet for the teens, with info about signing up and a day-by-day listing of activities. A parent needs to go to the registration meeting which will be the first night. The kids should also go that night to meet the other kids in their group. That's important even for the teens because that's when they join up in subgroups (my daughter found some girls her age to hang with... they usually would meet up there on sea days and then decide where to go from there. We had a lot of sea days -- about 10 -- and they probably saw a ton of movies while enjoying the pool; on our latest cruise, one of her friends from the previous cruise -- they friended each other on FB -- said she was repeating that cruise like us -- and they made plans to meet up the first day. They ended up forming a group with a third girl and three boys their age).

There are often singles mingles listed in the Patters (the daily newsletter). There are activities for people of all age such as trivia (even though mostly adults participate, but on my last cruise I formed a team that included a kid and we actually tied for first). The big production shows are appropriate for all ages, but not everyone is interested in singing and dancing.

Again, check the Princess website and you'll find a lot of great info.[/thanks for all your help you gave some awesome info

  11. Princess in general has an older crowd (in my opinion) but that doesn't mean you won't have fun :) As others have said, Princess Cruises are not party ships and they will have activities for all ages.

My husband and I always purchase the UKP (Ultimate Kid's Package) for drinks. It $ 8.05 a day per person and provides unlimited soda, milkshakes, malts, juices and mocktails (the Key West Cooler is SO GOOD!!!).

I hope you (and your family) enjoy your cruise!

What does a key west cooler taste like?
