I get cheap, not usually free, cabins. Like, $100. I try for the credit every time. And I’m denied every time. But it’s an email so I’ll keep trying.
Email? I thought we could only use stockperks app now. I was denied.

For the first time in 25 years our small 9" box fan was taken at disembarkation. We sailed out of San Pedro and the security had us open our carryon rolling bag and take it out. Told them we always take it but they held it til the end of the cruise. Even tried to go to Guest Services who called security but we are denied. The policy is worded vaguely of course:
Electrical devices such as small fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords without surge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.
Has this happened to anyone else? We have also sailed carnival and HAL with no problem. If we pack in our checked bag will we get an invitation to the naughty room.

Yes, princess.com website under on-board services. You can order wine, sodas, beer and water as well. The alcohol/water you order will be in your room when you board. If for some reason it's not call room service. Sodas you order 6 and then call to tell them how many of each you want, ie; 2 sprite, 4 cokes etc. They still stock Jim Beam, Crown Royal and many other liquors.
I no longer see beer available in on-board services. There are "good times roll" packages and "bon voyage party" packages in that include 5 beers, casino credit, guac and such but its in the celebration packages. Only wine and spirits in the wine and spirits section

When did this change? Just did a Vow renewal in January on the Regal for $249.
We've gotten a Vow renewal every 5 years and the last time we had wonderful time with Captain Paolo. A little rocky tracking down the coordinator but she finally came through.
Plus, I don't see anything on the Onboard services about weddings or Vow renewals, how does one inquire?
May have to come up with a new Vow renewal tradition at that price ($1595).

No. But you can still speak to a DR Mgr or DR Host and ask them to block you into the same table for the TD experience. (Unless guest is looking for TD experience, there isn't really a reason to see the DRO - formerly MD).
You can also access DMW via the web version of the App.
Thanks. The reason I ask is because we already have a table for two reserved each night at the same time. BUT...we prefer a dedicated table for two as opposed to the couch/table configuration. That's what we would need assistance with.

Ask this before on another thread but it got buried with no response, so I'll try here.
Please remind me:
With most everything being moved to the app, does the MD still hold court in one of the dining rooms on embarkation day?

we found out we were sailing with a large polka group on board. I also thought "cool, I like polka, maybe I'll contact them to see if we can pay a bit to get into some of their events." Their response, " No, we had to book through the group" So we said okay, never mind. Come cruise time various venues we usually liked to attend like the nightclub and such were closed to just them. Embarkation was a mess since they had to cater to the large group. And also dining was a challenge because, you guessed it "we have a large group on board". So it does and will impact any cruise - no matter the kind of group - any group of size makes an impact. Heck even large families can be a hurdle some times. One note: they did let the polka band perform one night for the "masses". It was fun. Just wish it wasn't such a hassle the rest of he cruise.

Use Uber. Pennies on the dollar compared to the taxi cartel
How does one use the uber app while in port? Schedule prior to getting off ship or after being tendered?

Use Uber. The Uber app will convert the fare to Pesos for you and it is drastically cheaper then taxis and paying in USD.
Question: How would one use the uber app while in port? WIFI can be difficult to find on short notice. Schedule prior to getting off ship? But then how do you schedule while contending with tenders? Also where is the pick up? At the Surf boards? Any help would be appreciated.

Just curious, is it 3 entree per person limit? We usually order one entree for her, one for me and one for the middle. Still cool?

I've heard through the grapevine that carnival may start charging when more than one or two main dishes are ordered in the main dining room. Is there any word on what if any the limit is on apps? We love small plates and often there are more than one or two apps we'd love to try during any given dinner service. And have always had no problem getting our wish in the past.

I hope you get your OBC. We book casino cruises too and sometimes we get the credit, other times not so much. Good luck. We're all counting on you.☺️

NOTES AS WE GO
We are currently on REGAL Princess with the PCA (Porsche club of America, about 700 in the group)
This is our first cruise since THE SHUT DOWN, but about number 5 on Princess (total of 25 cruises in all)
Saturday December 10 2022
Embarkation was VERY GOOD QUICK, at 10:30
Cabin (Mini Suite) is fine (generally not a problem anyway)
The ship seems in good shape.
Food
We are VERY DISAPPOINTED about the quality of the food in the Buffet and the MDR,
In particular the ROAST BEEF in the buffet, looked, tasted good till you tried to CHEW it, you can't), it is tough as leather and inedible so far 2 times !! The Salmon from the buffet is also tough and very dry (in the MDR also) I ordered Beef Strogonoff last night...very small portion of INEDIBLE BEEF and a few noodles....very disappointing....Breakfast at the Buffet is good, Smoked Salmon, Grits ( a favorite) I don't like eggs or pancakes that are pre-made, so I avoid those, bacon is good....Coffee is excellent as are ALL THE BAKED GOODS, , Soups were good....
Staff
The staff are all VERY GOOD We have never had ANY problems ...
Monday December 12,
I will "attempt" to upgrade this as we go............
How were the line in the dining room?

We used resort for a day. The resort was Hotel RIU Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta. The taxi ride was bit lengthy the resort was so much fun. The taxi fare to the resort could be expensive, depending on who you use. It was easier and less expensive to get a cab from the resort back to the ship.

Polka group, I think. Should be lively. We're on the cruise, but not with the group. Any group of that size is bound to make a difference in terms of certain venues and such. Maybe we'll catch a view or a listen.

The Mamma Gal East End Native Experience meets you near the Harley Davidson Shop which is near the pier where you get off the ship. They take you to a national park of the Bahamas located on Freeport. You then go on a walking tour of the national park and go down stairs to a cave and have the opportunity to look around. You go across the street to another area where they filmed Pirates of the Carribean. On the way back to the ship, you stop for lunch to eat at a location that overlooks the ocean with incredible views (you pay for your lunch). Your final stop is a shopping experience which was not that great. I asked about their last hurricane and the tour guide shared some incredible stories. The Carnival excursions did not interest me.
Thanks for the great review. We are doing this exact excursion and was hoping it was a good one. Did you enjoy the food at your lunch stop? We're not big shoppers so maybe we can skip that part.

Thanks for the review.

Could you elaborate here or on the ports of call board if you like.

With 100% capacity, are rooms ready when you check in or at 1:30 like before covid?

It’s a straight 2 miles from the airport to the pier.
We walked from the rental car center to the pier. After dropping our bags at the pier we returned the car and walked along Pacific to grape then onto Harbor. Stopped a few times to take pics. And then had a cold drink and a bite at Ketch Grill. Pleasant walk. Saved some money, great exercise, made us feel better about the cruise food we were about to partake in.

Yes, some cruiselines do partner with land based casinos, often oferring free or heavily discounted cruises. I do not think HAL does however.
Boyd Casinos offer one free HAL cruise a year to certain tier levels. In fact, this will be a free cruise for us. inside cabin only, but at least it gets us on the ship.

Hi David, I'm hoping early luggage drop off is still an option in two weeks 🙂. Can't believe the staff is being verbally abused... yikes ! Hopefully someone on next Friday's cruise will be able to let us know if early luggage drop off is an option... since we are all sharing a car, & staying in same hotel, we need to arrive at same time... we'll go with group D which is the later check in amongst us... guess we will be getting brunch before boarding 😉
(& thank you @The-Inside-Cabin for letting me hijack your thread a little 🙂
Same here. Apologies for the high-jack, but we will be renting a car, hope to drop off luggage about an hour earlier than our check in time, return the car, then walk to pier (without all our luggage) for our 1:20 check in. Hope this is doable.

Definitely not thrilled with adding slots to other locations on the ship. Now they just need to add online gaming to the Navigator app and a slot machine to each cabin so you don't even have to leave your room.
Some lines already have slots for money on their app. So you could literally play anywhere on the ship. Just an observation not an opinion.
