  1. Anyone have any info.....Just checked for 2015 and same ships/itineraries out of Port Canaveral..

Anyone know of any changes? want to book some trips next year but same routes/ships so not really motivated yet to book......Tampa/Fort Laud/Mia has similar options... am I getting too fussy... lol

Don't really want to fly anywhere to sail as vacation days are tight, but want to stick to RCCL...

  2. Mpoole is going to feel so loved when he gets back. We are all waiting. Its hard to believe that NO ONE can tell us any experiences with this package on any of the ships.

How true! Lol I even started a thread asking bout this but didn't get any responses... Hope Michael lets us know.... I have 2 holiday cruises that I am keeping everything crossed for that this is the real deal.... :D

  3. I went to guest services, at first they gave me, "oh that's a promo that has to be bought on line only" I said, "oh no, no C&A told me they could honor promo on board" (which is true!) she said, "sorry that's not being offered yet" I firmly said, look I'm not looking for the run around just want to pay for the promo being offered.

She made a few calls in panic, but said they would honor promo but only at the champagne bar, as they are the only one who keeps it on hand. (So she says)

That's for those who encouraged me to ask at guest services!

At $17 glass this it going to be quite a fun cruise! :)

So how as your cruise Michael??? could you get the Moet at most bars, or only specific ones? Hope you had a wonderful time!!

  4. Just off this same cruise and had a different opinion. Perception is very personal, but this was a very pleasurable, relaxing cruise. We stayed in a junior suite and we were never bothered by noise from the pool deck. We were under the solarium area. The ship was clean and service was excellent. I think you are going to have a fabulous time! I did not have to wait for my drinks long, but I do go right to the bar. The Diamond Lounge was a bit crowded, but seats for all and I had an enjoyable time.

    Thanks Kim :)

  5. We just got off the Grandeur and could only use one coupon. They wouldn't let us book another night for our second coupon. :(

We are going again in 2 wks on the Grandeur. I am going to ask them again and see what they say. Maybe I would get a different answer from someone else. I heard that if you pay for the second night, when you go the first night, that you can use it another night. Did I make sense there? Anyway, I am going to try.

What happens if you are single? Can you get it half price? Do you know the answer, Bob? I am sure you do......;)

    Gwen :)

I would like to know this too, as travelling solo, could I use my coupon for BOGO fo 2 speciality dinners on 2 different nights?

  6. Read the last thread on this but still seems a bit vague...wondered if anyone else experienced this offer with the Ultimate package, and it is for real...?!

    - Do you need to book online or ok onboard?

    - Can you get this at any bar, or only certain ones like R Bar?

Any input would be great as I have 2 holiday cruises coming up (whoop) and real "bubbles" is my preferred drink anyway.... so this would be amaaaazing! :D

  7. Interesting to read the different opinions.... Thanks for posting your views, I shall check it out and write a review on my return. I go in 5 weeks so shall see for myself... Lol

If I encounter any unfriendly, miserable crew I will also let someone know about it. The happy crew make such a difference, that's why I still favor Enchantment, although my recent cruise on Freedom was mostly positive. At least with bar staff.. Guest services... Oh boy... Very unfriendly but that's another discussion, lol.

Any other snippets about the Vision, I would love to read more..... Thanks again all.

  8. Thanks for your responses.... Interesting that some thought crew were great and another the opposite experience. I kniw I was kinda spoilt on Enchantment and felt the crew etc were some of the friendliest I had ever seen....

Not to worry, a cruise is indeed what you make it and as long as I get lots of great sunshine I am usually content! Lol

I usually frequent the pool bar and R bar so hope I get an upbeat and positive experience on Vision. Also will go to Concierge and Diamond lounge.... Concierges ok? Who are they?

  9. Carnival Cruise Lines Partners with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to Bring 'Seuss at Sea' to Kids and Families on 'Fun Ships'

MIAMI, Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- One ship, two ships, it's Dr. Seuss on cruise ships! Carnival Cruise Lines today unveiled an exclusive partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to bring the beloved children's brand and favorite characters to the line's fleet of 24 "Fun Ships." In an industry first, the Carnival Seuss at Sea program will offer a variety of exciting and immersive onboard youth, family, dining and entertainment experiences featuring the amazing world and words of Dr. Seuss.

"It is fun to have fun but you have to know how," said the Cat in the Hat in the iconic Dr. Seuss book. The fun on Carnival starts in the main dining room during The Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with the Cat in the Hat and Friends. Attendees will have the opportunity to kick off their day dining on playful foods straight from Dr. Seuss's imagination – green eggs and ham, moose juice and goose juice, along with colorful fruit and pancake stacks, funky French toast and more, with traditional breakfast favorites also available. While Carnival's wait staff set the tone with Dr. Seuss-inspired uniforms, popular Dr. Seuss characters such as the Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two, and Sam will be joining guests at their tables for fun interactions and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities. Hosted on the first sea day of each cruise, this special breakfast will be available for $5 per guest.

Every ship in the Carnival fleet will have a selection of classic Dr. Seuss books, toys and themed activities for children to enjoy. Special showings of beloved movies such as "The Cat in the Hat" and Dr. Seuss's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" will be shown outdoors on the giant screen of the Seaside Theater on Lido Deck as part of the cruise line's Dive-In Movies programming. On Carnival Freedom, which is undergoing a major refurbishment in May, and Carnival Vista, which debuts in early 2016, there will be a Dr. Seuss Bookville facility -- a unique and dedicated Seuss-themed play space featuring iconic decor, colors, shapes and funky furniture inspired by the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. The perfect place for families to relax, unwind and enjoy each other's company, guests can read one of many available Dr. Seuss books or stretch their imagination through other family-fun activities including arts and crafts, toys and Dr. Seuss-inspired games.

Story time at sea will never be the same with the introduction of Seuss-a-palooza Story Time, A Rhyming Good Time – an interactive reading event that brings to life the colorful world of Dr. Seuss for kids of all ages. Hosted on a sea day each voyage in a custom-created environment on board or within Dr. Seuss Bookville, this memorable storytelling event will feature some of the most beloved Dr. Seuss characters.

At other times during the voyage, children and families will have the chance to meet and interact with favorite Dr. Seuss characters and participate in special photo opportunities featuring colorful and zany Dr. Seuss-inspired artwork, as well as through events and activities such as the Seuss-a-palooza Character Parade where guests can join Dr. Seuss characters in a swirly conga line along the Promenade. A variety of Dr. Seuss-themed retail items will be available, as well.

The Seuss at Sea initiative builds upon Carnival's leadership position in family cruising. The line carries more than 700,000 kids aboard its fleet each year — nearly half of the total number of kids carried by the entire North American cruise industry.

"Our youth and family programming continues to be highly rated and extremely popular with the millions of families who sail with Carnival, but we're constantly challenging ourselves to uncover unique and interesting ways to further enhance our guest experience," said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of guest operations for Carnival Cruise Lines. "We are thrilled to bring the fun, whimsical and wonderful world of Dr. Seuss to life for our guests of all ages to create even more fun and memorable moments during our cruise vacations."

"Dr. Seuss inspires imaginations across generations and encourages a playfulness and whimsy that is often lost in today's 'always on' society," said Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises. "We're excited to be working with Carnival Cruise Lines to bring some of the timeless magic of Dr. Seuss to the families that sail each year. Seuss at Sea will let kids and parents alike explore their imaginations through the memorable onboard experiences we're building together."

Roll-out of the Seuss at Sea program will begin aboard Carnival Splendor in February 2014 with implementation across the full fleet by 2015, as well as Carnival Vista when that ship enters service in early 2016.

    Whoopie doo ....duh... How unexciting!!

If I were a kid again, I would much prefer Disney.....;)

Don't think this is exactly groundbreaking news to attract more families on CCL if this is the intention....? But what do I know... Lol

  10. Just4cruzin- thanks for posting... Good to know that the asst CDs were fun and interactive...I haven't heard any rave reviews on Brett yet, but shall find out next weekend! I must say that my last cruise on RCCL the crew and even senior officers were all very interactive and friendly which was most refreshing, so I look forward to a similar experience on Legend. She is my favorite CCL ship.

Hoping the weather reports for week of 15th improve, and I am as lucky as you were...that's my main reason for cruising, lying on deck in that wonderful sun and sea breeze!!

    Glad you enjoyed it. :)

  11. Thanks for responding. Glad you enjoyed her.

It has been 3 years since I was last on her, so am looking forward to being back and also the new serenity area... Looks so nice in the pics I have seen...

Hoping for good weather too, right now the report is dismal, but I know that can change, so trying to "ignore" it.... Lol
