  1. My experience on the Insignia on the 2019 ATW cruise, was that the ship “goes to bed early”. Since Oceania cruises are all about the itinerary and touring, you will not find the “party hardy” experience found on mainstream lines such as NCL with late night revelers, and 24 hour eateries. On the Insignia, there were usually only a dozen or so patrons at the Horizon lounge most evenings after the main show was over, and some of those were off duty staff…
  2. One thing that the wording on the Disney Cruises website didn't make clear to me was if the posted limit for carryon was total per cabin, or for each person over 21 years old in the cabin. A call to their office confirmed the latter.
  3. Those are kind of nice, IMHO. Too bad the 'R' Class can't offer similar, on a smaller scale...
  4. I've been in them on Royal but not for Celebrity...I just assumed Celebrity would have what Royal had, since they do offer some loyalty reciprocity between certain of their loyalty levels. Thanks for the clarification.
  5. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity have lounges for their top level loyalty members, in addition to those paying for suites. I have been in those, and they are quite nice, as they include drinks and nice hors d'oeuvres during "cocktail hours". They are a very nice and welcome perk for their loyalty members...
  6. Perhaps Oceania's new ships should add a lounge for top Oceania Club level's? Or just include access to one or both of the existing lounges?
  7. Interesting...did not know that. The Insignia was my only Oceania ship, and it didn't have any exclusive card accessed lounges.
  8. So, does that mean there are two exclusive lounges? One for Concierge level, and another for suites??🤔
  9. If I understand correctly, those occupying "Concierge Level" Veranda cabins, and all suites....
  10. Did you try again at or after 0900? Perhaps if you tried too early, "sold out" was the automatic response? Not sure......
  11. In my experience, Meet and Greets on all cruise lines have been generally done late morning on the first day at sea. This included my 2019 ATW on the Insignia, and a repeat at the first sea day on each successive segment, for those joining along the way. Sometimes, an "informal" gathering was suggested at some topside bar for sailaway...
  12. Just think about what you could get from this suite, on sister line, Regent...😁 https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/4706/
  13. I believe it docks right at the Navy Pier, downtown. AQV seems to have exclusive rights to do that amongst the other lines offering Great Lakes cruises.
  14. I think Royal Caribbean wants to keep that title for "bragging rights"...their new "Icon Class" is even larger than their current record holding Wonder of the Seas...
  15. Greetings. My first post on Disney forum, as after 40+ cruises on 10 other lines, I finally booked a Disney cruise (Dream, 7-12 November). It is my ambition to try at least once, every cruise line serving US ports. I too am saddened by the downturn in activity in general on CC boards and roll calls...I don't even see a roll call for this cruise, leaving in just a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to trying a new cruise line...🙂
  16. True, they don't have to change, but most lines do so, in an effort to remain competitive, and keep abreast of changing trends. You can never please everyone, but they should try. I don't feel any ill will, towards passenger's that have the means, and the desire to spend more to get better accommodation's, that carry with them extra perks. And apparently 'O' does make some "exclusive" benefits for those: https://www.oceaniacruises.com/suites?s=PS_NEO_STL_GEN_GOO_NA_SRH_NA_oceania cruises suite_NA_US_NA_700000002560947-71700000095799052-58700007859483670-oceania+cruises+suite&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-fmZBhDtARIsAH6H8qgyMjIhqalKKEV7rxosex7rRLeAi2pbVLEYQK-8-G-3m707uTmcYVEaAo9nEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds In addition, not mentioned in the above, are the 'Concierge' lounges on larger 'O' ships...
  17. On NCL, 45 days for one bottle per member, 150 days for two bottles per member... https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program
  18. Right...I had forgotten. So it must have been on NCL, or some other line I sailed on. Several give me comp bubbly in the cabin on embarkation day.
  19. Strongly agree...it's high time that 'O' converts to days aboard, like most other cruise lines do, in loyalty points, with possible bonus points for booking suites or other enticements...
  20. I don't know for sure, but I assume they are very strict with inventory control and accounting, and they have certain inventory allocated for 'comp' distribution, and not anything else. Perhaps in the grand scheme of things, they should not be so rigid, and give ship management more latitude in such matters...
  21. I forgot whether it was on Oceania or NCL, but since I don't drink, I asked to exchange the comp bottle of sparkling wine placed in my cabin for just a bottle of water, and guess what? Correct...I was denied. Doesn't say much for the value of the comp wine, does it?😉
  22. Yes...Oceania is very good in this regard. Most cruise lines will not "graduate" you into the next tier of their loyalty program, until you are on your next cruise. Even if you achieve the required 'credits' on the first day of your cruise. My first time on an Oceania ship was on the 2019 ATW. I was given "Gold" status right from the get-go, along with all the perks...
