  1. Ok, I have my first river cruise next year which is also my 1st overseas trip. I booked my air with the cruise line (Viking) along with the pre-cruise extension, which means transfers are included. So please walk me through what exactly I am suppose to do once my flight arrives at the gate (CDG). I will have at least one checked bag. Thanks for your help - I donโ€™t want to just follow the crowd and hope theyโ€™re doing what I doing.
  2. Sure you can. I will be eating at Le Bistro 3 times on my upcoming cruise ๐Ÿ˜‹ Now that they have the Lobster Thermidor I will be doing ๐Ÿฅฉ - ๐Ÿฆž- ๐Ÿฅฉ
  3. In my experience, if you want to really dress up for the evening do so in one of the finer speciality restaurants (Le Bistro, Cagneyโ€™s, Ocean Blue) and follow with a show in the main theatre - you will not look out of place.
  4. Detox by spending 15 minutes in the steam room, 10 minutes in the sauna and three minutes in the snow room (if your ship has one). Go back to the cabin, get dressed for the evening and go out and Retox ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. Iโ€™m cruising Escape in January and I LOVE mini golf ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  6. I always travel solo and I eat all of my dinners in the speciality restaurants. I always make reservations for 2 and show up by myself and inform them I am solo. Never a problem.
  7. I have the book and would definitely recommend that over the card. I also purchased a passport cover that has a place for my COVID vaccine card.
  8. I do not see how you can do that. I just paid for a spa pass for my upcoming January 7-day cruise on Escape and it was $299 per person.
  9. I have cruised on NCL, as a soloist, many times. The Free-at-Sea promotions do not let you double up. For example if you book a cruise and get 2 nights speciality dining, and they advertise it for passengers 1 and 2 - as a soloist you still only get two meals. You cannot get two additional meals by using the non-existent passenger #2โ€™s credits.
  10. I have done 3 NCL cruises and will do my 4th in January - All Solo! And my upcoming cruise will be the first in a studio. I have dined solo for almost every meal and have had nothing but spectacular service. Never stuck in a corner, no wired looks, just great service. If anything, I believe the staff have gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I do eat a vast majority of my meals in speciality restaurants.
  11. I always do speciality dining on the first night to get the cruise off to a great start. Of course, I like eating at a speciality on the last night to celebrate a great cruise. Then I do specialty dining on all Sea Days because, well, just because. And thereโ€™s nothing like enjoying speciality dining when getting back on the ship after a port day. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. But they do drive into hurricanes ๐Ÿ˜Ž
