  1. Agreed. I was addressing those who seem to think it is simple to just take a crane of lift off the bridge steel.
  2. I understand that, but they are dropping a port due to "distance and time" while the cruise is technically almost a day shorter
  3. The problem is, you can't just drive a crane up and lift the pieces. You need a floating crane. And then that limits weight and reach to not tip over the barge the crane is on.
  4. They are a lot nicer than CC. They are giving $100 OBC per CABIN, not difference in level for the April 15 TA. But surprised RCI is not offering bus transport to/from Baltimore, like CC is. Hmm, they have to cancel a stop due to time and distance, when the cruise leaves from a place 8 - 10 hours down stream from Baltimore and returns to the same place.
  5. One issue was when it was self serve, there was a LOT of waste in cones. People would pull and get 3 or 4 cones and drop them into the tray, where they would sit until tossed, as no one wanted a cone that some random kid may have licked. 🙂
  6. Nope, every RCI level is lifetime. Once you "earn" it, you have it. Not that you get much for under D. And domestic partners get it without ever sailing. As do kids under 18. However, once kids turn 18 or partners spilt, they keep the level but revert back to their own point level. So a never cruised person, could connect with a D+, cruise one 3 night cruise, split up and be D+ with 3 points. 😄 I think there are some differences with P.
  7. Yeap, check the prices on drinks in most restaurants these days.
  8. EDL was never intended to be in all states. Only border states. REAL ID is supposed be enacted in all states.
  9. I think you are also confusing EDL and REAL ID. EDL has been out and working for years.
  10. 1 hour. Southwest out of BWI or American out of DCA both have early flights for same day. We booked Sat and will have a couple of evenings to enjoy the Norfolk Water Side area. When life gives lemons…….
  11. We booked American out of DCA. They have two non-stops per day. We are flying down on Saturday and will enjoy the Norfolk Water Side area and relax. Southwest also has no-stops out of BWI. But I don’t fly SW
  12. For RCI out of Tx only certain bottled may be used that have had state tax paid on them. So limited drink menu at the start
  13. 1) Money 2) Do you really think that they think that far ahead? It is the government.
  14. We posted at the same time. Later it does say (Clause 8c) that they are liable to get you home or the port of embarkation.
  15. So they can just tell you your cruise leaves from another port and it is your problem???? Actually it seems they only have to get you back to your port of embarkation or your home (at their discretion). So according to the contract, a person on the ship right now that lives in Norfolk, they could put them in a taxi to their home and leave it up to them to deal with getting their car parking in Baltimore. It could be interesting to get that into court. But yes, technically they could tell you that your cruise now leaves from LA and if you cancel, you get no refund.
  16. Remember, all the debris have to be cut or demo'd UNDER WATER. So commercial divers, dive ships, floating cranes. I will be surprised if they really start within several weeks to a month.
  17. No, you have a cruise contract to depart and arrive at a given port. The contract does allow them to change the itinerary for the ports you stop at.
  18. No but the conditions have significantly changed. So people should have the option to cancel without penalty for cash or for cruise credit with a bonus.
  19. They may not be responsible for the situation, but they are responsible for giving you the cruise you booked. How would it be if you booked a cruise out of Miami and they said, oh, your cruise is now leaving from LA, it is your problem? IMO, they should offer transport to/from Baltimore and Norfolk. Or either let you cancel for a full refund or for say 150% of your fare as a credit to a future cruise.
  20. Yeap. Next Vision cruise I have booked is December. I am pretty sure that the port will be open by then.
  21. Doing some looking, I think may fly down even Saturday and enjoy the Water Side area. FYI you can also fly BWI - ORF on American for a similar price, but change planes in Charlotte
  22. I have done the drive, but many years ago. I am sure it is worse now.
  23. Have a heart. I am already cruising on Carnival and you want me to fly SouthWest ALSO???? The horror........ 😄
