I too have been looking forward to seeing a cruise schedule beyond the spring of 2021.  I check nearly every day.  I have yet to see any such schedule posted on this forum or on the Princess website.

I managed to find a 3 night cruise Melbourne, Eden then Sydney 03/25/2021 by looking on the website. HTH.

Thanks for responding to my question, and for giving me ideas of where to buy wine.   This is very useful information, and the reason why I love Cruise Critic and all its helpful members!

Once you have your accommodation booked, I respectfully suggest a Google search for those names to locate your nearest store.

I was able to take advantage of Alaska Airlines offer of free shipment of a case of wine last year from Seattle to Los Angeles where we boarded the Coral Princess.  In hindsight, I should have had a small wheeled thing to go with it.  It was OK until we reached the terminal on the Princess bus.  They took my luggage, but wouldn't take the case of wine.  I had to carry it into the terminal myself, pay corkage for ten of the bottles and then carry it to my room on the ship.  Concerning carrying on water:  Last few time we were on Princess you could order a case of water (12) for six dollars and something if you ordered before your cruise.  We ordered four cases for the 60 day cruise.

You can-at least in Australia-buy 6 cans of soda for the price of 5 through the Cruise Personalizer. Sorry don't remember the AUD$ price, but remember thinking it would be easier for me when I next cruise, to have soda in the fridge for night time drinks.

I don't personally use cruise cash but did once use a gift card.  Here are a few reasons someone might want to use Cruise Cash:

    • Gift card balances are refundable to another gift card (or cash out with the same casino trick).  Another gift card is only good if you will take another Carnival cruise
    • Gift cards usually require at least a $100 purchase ($90 with discount), while cruise cash starts at $25.  Lower levels can be easier for some with budgeting or make a nice gift while the higher amount might be too much.
    • Since it is purchased on-line, you don't risk forgetting your cruise cash at home.

Very good point about not forgetting to pack your cruise cash . I have a special bag that anything cruise related goes into, and it travels in my carry on bag when I fly to the cruise. With the lower minimum purchase, it's easier for me to buy cruise cash each time I go to the travel agent to make a cruise payment, other people may have a different and just as practical routine.

Counting down the days until I embark the Carnival Splendor, oh, price OTC anti-nausea medication, while it's more expensive than prescription, I won't have medication left over that I might not use in time. That's now on my To Do For Cruise list.

  5. I must fly interstate in Australia to reach my departure port. I always schedule to travel the day before, and stay overnight. I can collect anything needed from the supermarket-always get some nibbles to bring aboard, knowing I can book a taxi to take me to the cruise terminal, non driver here. It's very relaxing, sitting beside the taxi driver going to the port! And I recommend their company to other people!

I posted my experience and did not ask for everyone's opinion of the medallion. I was merely letting people know they can get a cruise card if they desire.

I appreciate that information-THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I am Legally Blind with a very poor judgement of distance so would prefer the familiar card.

Having sailed on the Golden Princess in a Window Suite, I already have a very nice card wallet to hold my cruise card, and hopefully the fold up map of the ship, if that is still provided. I found this easier to use than try to read the map posted near the elevators.

Double check the daily news letter for laundry room times.  I believe it was 8am on Caribbean Princess last year...I went down about 7am and the door was already unlocked....had the room to myself.

    Thank You!

I'm not a bit breakfast eater, so could start the load and get a snack while waiting to change to the dryer.

I travel both with a friend or solo (when her husband decides to sail with us).  Either way, I believe Princess has the best closets... so much room for hanging items and on the shelves in the closet.  Whether I am sharing or not, I always bring an over the door organizer.  Mine has about 24 pockets that I use for shoes and/or other miscellaneous stuff like suntan lotion, etc.  I also use packing cubes so that everything that comes out of my suitcase goes either in a drawer or on a shelf "as is."  Also, keep in mind that Princess has the self serve laundromats on each deck so you don't need to pack as much...I usually do laundry just one early morning...in and out with clean clothes in about 90 minutes.

Thank you for that time frame. I will be on the Sapphire Princess ,March 25th 2021. On Aloha deck, have a reasonable walk to the laundromat. What times are the laundromats available please?

  9. Please how much is the tumbler? I'm sailing on Carnival Splendor out of Sydney in November, 2020, and researching possible-ok-LIKELY cruise purchases, so I can start saving money to be put into Cruise Cash for On Board Spending. I know this forum is mainly US posters, and can work out the Australian approximate pricing, with a price cushion.

Eagerly scouring the board and noting any useful information, it's AMAZING how another person will frequently have the very information I was looking for!

Not a cruise rookie, sailed with another cruise line, but Carnival has the itinerary I want-Sydney-Moreton Island-Sydney, even though I can't tender as Handicapped. I can enjoy the ship facilities instead! 😎

Buying extra suitcases abroad/on board may raise an eyebrow or two at the moment! 🤨

Fair comment. Silly fools deserve what they got.

If I think I will NEED an extra case coming home, I will take the larger case and pop the middle size inside. I usually plan all purchases fairly accurately, so don't always need extra space.

We are cruising in the med in approx two weeks.

Usually we take a carry on each, check two bags and a garment bag. This trip due to three weeks in Europe (extra time on either end of cruise) we decided to go casual, and minimize our bags. In our minds “worse case we buy more clothes) No formal nights for us!!!! (The thought of dressing up exhausts me right now)  We like to shop for art and for this reason always had room to carry our pieces back on the plane but this time we are brainstorming ideas on how to get art home without shipping it. I cant recall whether the cruise ships sell extra suitcases onboard...anybody know ?

    Thank you

    Christina

I have a set of 3 different sized suitcases that pack into each other-smallest into middle size, then middle size into largest for storage. Very handy to take when travelling. I always advise Security I have a medium case inside my larger case, and no problems encountered so far, just an amused smile. HTH.

We were on the Delayed 6 day Horizon cruise a few weeks ago do Dorian

They gave us a choice to Cancel and get a full refund & 100% FCC Plus $200 p.p air transfer

Or sail on 3 day cruise get 50% refund & 50% FCC

They refunded all pre paid stuff

    I thought they stepped up.

But many on our FB page is blasting Carnival

Many didn’t have insurance and are out expensive hotels and meals. It’s crazy reading all these post.

Their own fault for NOT taking out insurance! I'm on a very tight budget, but that is an ESSENTIAL expense for me, purchased as soon as possible-I've been known to put the deposit down, LONG before I can purchase insurance!

  13. I will be cruising on Carnival Splendor in November, 2020. I have 1 Dr prescribed and 3 vitamins (told by Dr to buy over-the-counter as cheaper for me) which are packed by the pharmacist into WebsterPaks so that I can "pop" out whatever dose I am taking, and easily monitor all medications are taken. The details of what is packed are on the back of the packs. I also use Asthma puffers and will have the 3 prescriptions with me to prove a Dr prescribed them for me.

  14. I plan to purchase FTTF when I sail the Carnival Splendor in Australia in November 2020.

The tender shuttle is of no benefit to me-tender port and multiple handicaps which make me VERY afraid of falling and hurting myself. I DO like being able to take my carry on small case straight to my stateroom and unpack the basic overnight requirements. I consider the early boarding with a limited number of people will be safer for me. I think the price here in Australia for that cruise is AUD$100, I may be wrong. $25 a day for safety is something I will pay for. I have had the Priority Line at Guest Services on another cruise line and it WAS helpful when I needed it!

It seems like this comes up every few months now.  I thought Royal Caribbean put a stop to allowing "emotional support" dogs and pet dogs onboard?   Were these people grandfathered in?

Some of you know Im paraplegic and I own a legit service dog. A female chocolate lab that is nearing 8 years old.  She fetches items I need, picks up things I drop, pulls me in my wheelchair etc and so forth.  I bought her vest off of amazon because that is where I found it to be the cheapest.  There is no such thing as a "fake vest" because a true service dog isnt even required to wear one.  The "certification" paperwork you can get offline isnt even worth the paper its printed on.

I do not take Allie on cruises.  Im blessed to be her master/handler but I am also blessed to be able to do fine without her, especially when traveling with other people.  Its not fair to coup her up in such tight quarters for a week,  its a hassle to go through all the red tape to take her into ports,  and just like having a child, its nice to have a break from them once in a while.   She enjoys a week with her trainer and about 15 other labs just like her.  It really ticks me off when people abuse the system and take their ill mannered, untrained pets in public places.  It gives us all a black eye.

She's GORGEOUS! Here's a cyber pat for you to please give her from me. I love dogs, but the ONLY dog that will come cruising with me, is a stuffed toy Golden Retriever I was given for a Christmas present, who travels in my carry on case.

Eagerly considering my 1st Royal Caribbean cruise, possibly out of Sydney, here in Australia.

Yes, the proliferation of rude and self-important people is growing at alarming rates.

I combat this by telling those schmucks exactly how their poor behaviour affects those around them.  They typically slither away gob-smacked that someone actually called them out for being a poor excuse for a human being.  Standing by and watching does nothing to change how these people conduct themselves.  They continue to do it because they think no one will say anything.  If good people simply said "You're being extremely rude." to those behaving badly, they will almost always stop.

I'm sure some will say "But they could retaliate physically!".  True - but I refuse to live in fear and accept rude people thinking they can power their way to privilege by intimidation.

I also agree. If they are stupid enoughto retaliate physically, you lodge a complaint of assault against them and let Security deal with the fool/s.

  17. GRRR!  Murphy's Law is being TOO friendly for this cruise! I fully understand the annoyance of travel plans having to be changed at short notice, rely on taxis myself-Legally Blind so never learnt to drive.

I have noted to make sure I have extra money in reserve when I sail Carnival Splendor out of Sydney, Australia in November 2020. Eagerly counting down the days!

Of course they would, just like anyone else

Thank You! Never cruised Royal Caribbean so not sure about their policies.

There's been something happen with my current preferred cruise line, that I will likely have difficulty managing due to Legal Blindness. I'm starting to look more seriously at other cruise lines including Royal Caribbean.

Last night on the CB, we are in the Owners Suite. We went to the Elite lounge on the first formal night. Snacks and appetizers were good. Never went back, too busy enjoying our suite. I do think Skywalkers is one of the most under utilized spaces on the ship. Year's ago, we could go up there mid afternoon and have a drink, enjoy the view. S

Anyway, really enjoyed CB this week. Our Medallions even unlocked the door from 2-3 feet away. Medallion team is working hard everywhere to get the entire ship working.

THANK YOU! I will be sailing on the Ruby Princess in February 2020, a Medallion Cruise, and was concerned about managing with the Medallion . I am Legally Blind, and have VERY poor judgement of distance. In an Interior room this time.

$$3 or so for a bottle of water, $4 for a coke. House brand Gin and Tonic was 9.50 on Symphony.  Martini with grey Goose $14.00. The UBP breaks even after a juice in the morning, a couple of waters through out the day,  a few specialty coffees during the day, late afternoon smoothie and a drink or two at night and a glass of of wine during dinner.  Serenade prices may be slightly less. Sometimes the cruise planner has a sale of $44 + 18% grat.  happy cruising.

Thank you for this information. I have a cruise booked with another cruise line, and my currency conversion from USD$ to AUD$ is $1 to $1.30  so will use your figures as a helpful guideline and allow extra spending money.
