  1. xcell, book them yourselves and you will save hundreds unless you are diamond plus then you can get really go deals with them. Look back at our other posts and you will see that the tranfers are kinda a pain and sometimes you can get a taxi for the same price or less. In fact I am sure you could get a car service for less than $90. I am sure if you ask someone on these wonderful boards will have names of car services. We always rent cars as that works well for us.

  2. The car can be a hassle but we think it is worth it. We have done it 2 differant ways on time return the car to a place next door to the hotel and took a taxi to the port. Last 2 times got the car at Fll drove to Mia and left the car and took their shuttle to the port, then we came back ( had a 7:30p flight) took the shuttle to Mia and then used it for the day and then returned it to Fll. Using the taxi was our first cruise and probably wont do that again as its just more money though I think it was only $20. The freedom to come and go as we want and to go to south beach or wherever and of course walmart for my diet coke. Transfers from the ship are also a pain as you need to wait until the bus fills up before it goes and we sat there over 1 hour, then we had a 5 hour wait at the airport. Wont do that again as its much nicer to go out to eat or sit on the beach for the day is nice. We love to do the water taxi in Fll for the day. Hope this helps. I would only rent a car if you are coming in the day before.
