  1. When I click it says to call to book airfare. So it’s a discount on booking through NCL not a separate credit or voucher.
  2. But the bird will keep making them nonetheless.
  3. Your writing is delightful! And your critiques all seem thoughtful and fair. I will probably try out the Prima some day and your review helps know what I’d be getting into.
  4. It was in existence for decades, then the requirement was dropped in 2019 or so, so it is correct that it is being "reinstituted" but the fact remains that visas have been required for many more years than they weren't.
  5. Keep looking around! We are on the Getaway and it was more than reasonable pricing.
  6. Oh yeah. When we were deciding on our fall trip we looked at the Viva and since it's brand new it was $$$$.
  7. Yeah that seems like a wildly high fare. We are paying less than half of that for a club balcony on a 11 day cruise in Europe. Is this on one of the new ships?
  8. Your planner is amazing! I want to do the same for my house but I don’t think I have your organization skills. So happy to follow along on your live WITH your dad! I have read prior threads after the fact and found them delightful.
  9. Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is one of the best books I’ve read in years!! Great choice!
  10. Based on my first outside TA experience, they can have their own invoices that don’t show many or any codes. I asked (nicely) for the original NCL invoice from my TA and that had all the codes on it (incl LATRIPLE which is a dream).
  11. OP, I am on this cruise with you and I am loving this discussion! I can't contribute experience with the itinerary like others can, but to the extent that you are wavering, I can say that I did a ridiculously exhaustive amount of debating and spreadsheets to narrow down which cruise we would take this fall among all of the Europe cruise options on NCL, and I have had no regrets since booking - just getting more excited by the day to explore these ports! We won't be doing Paris or Bordeaux because I don't have the patience for spending 2 hours each way on a bus, but I'm excited to explore Honfleur and Le Havre itself on the "Paris" day. We haven't figured out the "Bordeaux" day yet - honestly none of the options seem great so we may end up chilling out on the ship and enjoying the lack of crowds.
  12. I will never pretend to understand why NCL does or doesn't do half of the things they do; I was just explaining why it wasn't going to be an issue for you getting on the flight.
  13. Sometimes people don't yet have passports when they book a flight, so I can see why they wouldn't need it in advance. I recently booked flights to LHR for me and my husband, whose passport had expired and the renewal hadn't come in yet. I made the reservation without any issues; he added the passport number to the airline record once he had it.
  14. This is the email that I got. It definitely says April but when you click the terms and conditions on the bottom, it goes to the standard T&C page on the website which no longer lists anything about the 3 bonus point offer.
  15. My understanding is that the pricing varies depending on length of cruise plus itinerary - i.e. pricier on warmer itineraries where more people would be interested. For our upcoming Northern Europe cruise in October, the passes are priced at $289 pp for 11 days.
  16. You rock! Thank you for responding so quickly. We've never done any kind of Vibe before and now I am really excited to check out the cabana life. Just wish October weren't so far away!
  17. @Deacon22 I was searching the site for Getaway cabana info and this thread came up - first, thanks for your review which is super helpful. We just booked a cabana for a Getaway sailing in the fall and I was wondering about the cabana assignment / location process. About how many cabanas are there on the Getaway and are they all in the same general vicinity? I know they expanded the Vibe area relatively recently and I wasn't sure if that meant the cabanas would be spread out. Also I assume you get the same cabana for the whole cruise - do they assign you one or do you pick? Thank you!
  18. Yes you are correct! The “guest fare” of $1270 is the only truly non refundable part that you need to ensure. I was ready to insure way more but the agent explained that we didn’t need to and I eventually accepted it and paid less 😂
  19. We just worked this through with an insurance agent and he confirmed that only the base cruise fare needed to be insured. If you have air or non refundable hotels then add those to the cruise fare to make sure your coverage is adequate.
  20. They would rather take the bid from the Haven person because they can then also get $2000 or whatever from someone in a balcony bidding on a regular Haven room, whereas whatever an inside cabin might bid for an upgrade to your balcony would presumably be much loser.
  21. You could do what my parents did in the 80s when no one had phones - we had set rendezvous times/places where we would check in with them periodically.
  22. @YVRteacherYour writing style is so delightful! I am enjoying your dispatches very much. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
  23. Thank you all again for the code knowledge and the tip that the NCL invoice would show the codes. Turns out we have the LATRIPLE code so as if we weren’t already thrilled with our cruise… it’s now even better!
