  1. We have not dined prolifically at specialty restaurants on board Celebrityโ€™s ships. So when the opportunity presented itself during a flash sale, I booked the unlimited speciality dining package through the planner for the cruise we are currently on. Until this cruise we had never dined at The Porch, Lawn Club Grill, or Le Petit Chef. With all of our weak move up bids from DV Deluxe Verandah to The Retreat coming up unsuccessful, we are enjoying trying them all out and avoiding the main dining room and the buffet. We also enjoyed two Elite breakfasts in Tuscan Grill so far. In Key West we had lunch off the ship. As soon as we boarded on Thursday we went to Murano and booked the following: Thu - Lawn Club Grill Fri - Murano Sat lunch - The Porch Sat dinner - Le Petit Chef Sun - Tuscan Grill The cruise has been a bit lively which is to be expected on a short 4-day long weekend sailing out of Port Everglades. Even more so with 650 Tampa Bay Bucs fans on board.๐Ÿ˜ฑ This partial charter came to light after we booked and the topic surfaced during our roll call conversations. Not to mention we also have the bridal party of 90-plus participants on board with their daily themes, as well as two other on board weddings.๐Ÿค— Nevertheless we are still having a fabulous time. I just wanted to offer a positive post for whatever it might be worth. This is our third time on Silhouette. I would be happy to try to answer any questions not related to The Porch. Today we arrived a few minutes early at The Porch for our 1:00pm reservation. We were able to select the table of our choice. We selected a four-top with a view of the sea and aft toward the Lawn Club. We were served by Salvio from Goa, India. He was perfectly attentive and professional without being overly intrusive. I ordered Whispering Angel and DH had a Pinot Grigio. We enjoyed our wine for a few minutes before placing our order. A plate of wonderful, soft cheesy garlic brioche was served and enjoyed while we sipped and stared at the sea. We both started with Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos on hard shells which I initially thought was weird, but they were very manageable and tasty. Next I had the huge portion of Red Snapper Ceviche while DH had the Romaine and Avocado Salad. We both had the Lobster Roll for our main which had a bit of a chipotle kick. I ended with the Dessert Trio while DH just stuck with the Chocolate Mousse. This all sounds like a lot, but we both have large appetites.๐Ÿ˜‚ Yet at the end of the meal neither of us felt uncomfortably full. And this should get us through until our 8:00pm reservation at La petit Chef. The photos should pretty much tell the rest of the story of our very pleasant and enjoyable lunch experience at The Porch today. Give it a try if you ever get the chance!๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. All of us Cruiseaholics seem to find each other or run into each other at some point or another.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. This is my understanding. There has been nothing to indicate she wonโ€™t continue a typical captainโ€™s schedule of three months on and three months off. I am no groupie either, but having experienced a sailing on Equinox with her I found nothing about her typical and everything delightful. I am optimistic she will be at the helm when we try Beyond later this year.
  4. Do you mind sharing what you did? Both were shipโ€™s excursions only because I tend to gravitate toward deals that have incredible stacks of OBC. I think we have seen the last of those days as far as Celebrity is concerned. But I digress.๐Ÿ˜‚ December 2017 Crystal Serenity Late port change due to 2017 hurricanes. We took an air-conditioned bus tour around the island. Highlights included a stop at Shirleyโ€™s Lookout, a national park with historical artifacts and jaw dropping views (We have all seen the pics of Antiqua in the cruise catalogs in our mailboxes.) as well as a stop at UNESCO Heritage Site Nelsonโ€™s Dockyard where we saw among other things historical buildings, plenty of feral cats, and Cyan, the yacht owned by U2โ€™s The Edge. Our guide was informative and continuously mentioned points of interest along the way. December 2022 Azamara Onward We boarded a catamaran almost directly from the ship. We sailed for miles around the island to a beach stop, followed by a lobster lunch on board, and finally a second beach stop. I believe Mystic Cruises is the tour company. They have multiple boats. I am pretty sure they offer various types of sailing excursions and work with various cruise lines. I hope this information has been helpful to fellow cruisers. As Coco mentioned she is doing a private tour which is an excellent idea if you have a small group. She is known for crafting these unique plans. Love that about her. For just the two of us it was just simpler to join the shipโ€™s tour. I forgot how many were on the tour with us.
  5. We love gorgeous Antiqua. Both times we made stops there we planned interesting things to do and both times everything worked out beautifully. We will be stopping there again in 2025. Enjoy!!๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ˜€
  6. All checked in at Terminal 25 and ready to board at 10:20am. Yay!!!๐Ÿ˜
  7. We jumped on the SVs not long after the redeployment was announced and while Always Included still included gratuities. Gotta love those SVs with real balconies. Pricing was tolerable enough. So much so that I convinced two other couples to come along, including Rosie and Pete.
  8. @Jim_Iain has teased us with his Oceania โ€œresidenceโ€ before. I still feel confident I could squeeze my 6โ€™2โ€ frame into my largest Pullman suitcase and stow away on his and Iainโ€™s verandah. What do you think guys? I would only need a few square feet of living space.๐Ÿ˜‡ ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿค—
  9. Happy planning! I will be following along from now and all the way through. Looking forward to your Live report. Nothing has been usual about Floridaโ€™s weather so far this year, but April is almost always beautiful and balmy, but not too balmy. We finally try an Edge-class vessel later this year in a Sunset Verandah.
  10. I have extra-long strides, so maybe only 850 steps for me?๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
  11. Looking forward to following along with you on your live report. DH and I are excited be on board with you for this one. We also learned about the Bucs fans after the fact, but I am led to believe it is not a HUGE group. We will drive over from the Gulf Coast on embarkation morning. We have been on Silhouette previously also and had amazing cruises. We loved our couple cruises on Constellation also. Safe travels tomorrow. Enjoy Luigi's. I think it is a landmark on Los Olas.
  12. Me too. I just want to dig in as soon as it arrives at the table. But I always have to remind myself of how piping hot it is. The roof of my mouth is very sensitive and burns easily.
  13. Belated Bon Voyage! Thank you for your report. Happy you are taking us along as we embark on our first-ever Edge-class sailing on Beyond later this year. Good to know you have not yet experienced the infamous creaking, but I hope that all of your other little hiccups get worked out quickly. Are there no business cards in your suite with phone extensions for appropriate Retreat team members? Good news about the buffet. Enjoy your cruise!
  14. Please expound on the stacked discount you have mentioned. I was not aware that the flash sales on the drink package upgrades qualified for the Captain's Club Elite discount. Thanks.
  15. We watched this last year. We found it to be a very interesting series.
  16. If you intend on upgrading irregardless of price, then book now. If a better price comes along simply cancel the upgrade you have booked at the higher price and rebook at the better price. That is what we did for both of our upcoming 2024 cruises. We caught the flash sale for $6.99 in late October of last year.
  17. Happy Easter! I am looking forward to following along. We were in an inside on board Seascape in December and met our butler as soon as we were escorted inside the Yacht Club enclave. She was great! My motto became "Ask and you shall receive."
  18. Copy Paste Test from Notes on iMac Day 1 - Th Apr 4 - 4pm - Depart FLL Day 2 - Fri Apr 5 - 7a-5p - Key West Day 3 - Sa Apr 6 - at sea Day 4 - Su Apr 7 - 7a-6p - Nassau Day 5 - Mo Apr 8 - 7am - Arrive FLL
  19. Recycled from the Oceanview Cafe? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Looks more like cat pellets. But not your cat pellets. Enjoy Bonaire!!! ๐Ÿฆฉโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒต
  20. If I were you, I would place weak bids on all four Retreat categories. Remember once you place your bids, usually the system allows you to modify your bids for a certain amount of time. I did this in hopes of increasing my odds of a bid being accepted. There are only a few days before I sail, and all of my bids are still showing as pending and I can still modify them. There are quite a few unknowns and unsolved mysteries regarding the MoveUp process.
  21. Same. Also loving the very nice price.๐Ÿ˜‰ And the cruise kicks off on my milestone birthday. You are going to be so tired of reading that.๐Ÿ˜œ
  22. We have pre-purchased the Unlimited Speciality Dining Package on a credit card via the cruise planner. I was curious how the scenario you describe above would play out on board. Who specifically did you have to fight with to get this refunded? Or was your money cheerfully refunded? Thanks for input.
