  1. The camera does pan back and forth. At the bottom of the screen is a red line. You put your curser at the end of the line, you can pull the end and reveal what was recorded earlier. there is a number displayed showing the time difference from live in H:M:s format. Also a small window pops up showing the picture at that point in time. If you press play it will pay from the point it time.
  2. Baltimore port webcam is streaming live on Youtube. I see 2 tugs with barges, one with a crane.
  3. Oh, so it can rotate in either direction. Turbo chargers are not parasitic obviously , they get energy that would have been wasted, at by compressing inlet air improves power and efficiency (Cycle efficiency increases with higher pressure ). With a turbocharger the powerplant becomes a combined cycle powerplant.
  4. @chengkp75 Let me give you a little background about myself . My degree is mechanical engineer. I worked 42 years at Pratt & Whitney as a performance engineer designing engine cycles for supersonic applications, both commercial (NASA contract) and military. I retire in 2008 at 65, but worked at outsourcing for another 6 years. Even at 80 years old, I continue to be curious how things work.
  5. Doesn't that energy come from the generator? does that mean if you want to stop, the engine turns off, or is there a clutch between the engine and propellor shaft.
  6. When I was in engineering school, there was a saying "them that can, do, them that can't , teach" , do I sense a little of that here with our purported "experts".
  7. That is why I asked the question. Thank you. Now I know something I didn't before. Once an engineer, always an engineer. Am I correct that the generator powers the fuel pumps as well.
  8. I wonder if they should have a bank of batteries , so if the generator goes off line, they would provide power to keep the engine control and steering alive till the generator restarts?
  9. Ship simulator recreates moments leading up to bridge crash in U.S. | Watch (msn.com)
  10. Is it possible there was a wind that could have pushed it out of the channel?
  11. Story I heard was the police were on the way to tell them but it was too late.
  12. I was surprised that the tugs didn't continue to accompany the ship, at least to get the ship past the bridge.
  13. Click on the upper left hand corner of the video and it takes you to his youtube account. I think it is like a chengkp75 type person on youtube.
  14. I just realized, this must be the I95 bypass around Baltimore we all use when driving back and forth from Florida to the north.
  15. With all of the capacity they are bringing online, if that doesn't soften things, what will? Another Icon and a 7th Oasis is a lot.
  16. That is even more than what I got on Odyssey. And it was nonrefundable OBC. I wonder if the bubble on outrageous prices is bursting.
  17. The point of my post was that after the points system changed for both cruise lines, that the more expensive rooms accumulated points much faster on X than on RC. We first cruised on Celebrity Horizon and we had the presential suite, 1 point. then we did the next 4 cruises that were TA's in a Sky Suite. 3 points. One point for the cruise, one point for the suite, and one for the longer cruise. I would have become Elite much faster when they changed their loyalty system because the took into account your stateroom. Not to worry, we took or Elite status, got diamond, cruised a lot, and we are Pinnacle now on RCI. The point was, that after the change, it applied to ever day that you cruised, instead of just one point regardless of how long the cruise was.
