  1. We had 2 guests to CK on allure. They ordered a drink and was charged for it since they weren't suite guests. So in my experience guests to CK would be charged for drinks unless you had a drink package.

For the first night in the SL, bartenders asked me for my seapass card to verify that i was in a suite. Once they knew that i was in a suite, i did not have to show it again.

Different experiences on the same ship just 3 months apart.

  2. This is 7154 we stayed in 7652 but I didn't take any pictures. Rooms are the same only the corner ones are different

Thanks for posting those pics of 7154. Will be in that same cabin in 3 weeks. Nice balcony but no walk in closet is a bummer. Size of the room seems comparable to a ocean view balcony.

On enchantment we had a js on the port side middle and there was no walk in closet. Not all js on the port and starboard side of grandeur will have walk in closets as it is a sister ship to enchantment.

  3. In addition to the prepaid tips we hand out extra to the wait staff that have helped us. When we find a good waiter you can ask the hostess to be in there sectoon for dinner. For breakfast and lunch you might not get your servers as they rotate for training and days off.

Also some CK staff help out the MDR during early seating.

  4. After 10 years of marriage I have finally convinced my husband that cruising is a great vacation! (Especially with our two small kids- the kids club has been a LIFE SAVER!!) As a result we will be doing 3 cruises in 12 months! YAY! But my question is - is it pretty much always the best deal to book onboard through the Next Cruise guy/girl? Our next cruise is in May, and we booked that one in May 2016 while we were onboard the Oasis. We seem to have gotten an AMAZING deal. My whole family is coming, and as a treat for my parents' 50th anniversary, we are all staying in Grand Suites. (3 suites total - I have a small family, lol) We ended up paying only about $6700 per suite, and after transferring the booking to our agent she was amazed that we got such a great deal. I'm hoping to convince the hubby to book another one onboard (we'll definitely take a break of a year or so!!), but I want to know if that is likely to be the best price.

Also - I know there have been debates here about the pros and cons of using an agent vs booking yourself. We have been using a "big box"/ "warehouse store" travel agent - I'll let you guess who it might be - they have been great for our past two cruises, but it's not super personalized service, and I'm wondering if we should try to establish a relationship with a smaller agent in order to maybe get some extra perks in the future? Just curious about everyone's thoughts!

    Thanks!

Its hard to beat the gift card that you get after the cruise. It should be about $525 you will be getting back per stateroom. It used to be obc but it changed sometime last year.

I always book onboard because of the reduced deposit and matching obc. It is a no brainer. Also after transferring it to the big box warehouse i have moved the booking to different ships and sail dates and kept the reduced deposit and obc. If you find a lower price before final payment just call and get the price reduced.

  5. Pat(and Bucky), enjoying your review.....but wish I were onboard Oasis with y'all, enjoying even more! I was actually tired of cruising after our December ones, but am back ready to go, now!:) When I was on Allure in October, I had breakfast a couple of mornings and lunch a few times at Park Cafe. John and I enjoyed Johnny Rockets for breakfast on Oasis. Can't wait to hear about CK from you! I'm thinking of booking Harmony for our "free PC cruise". :)

I think we met at the meet and mingle on allure?

  6. You can always book once onboard. There will be availabilty for almost all the shows. The one exception will be the comedy club. That is a small venue and books up easily.

Another option is to wait in the standby line. If you get in the standby line 30min before the show starts you most likely will get in. Might not be the best seats but you will see the show. Again the comedy club is the exception.

  7. We were on Allure in mid-November and dined in CK for dinner all but one night. Flexibility depended on what time you wanted to dine. From 6-7:30 CK was full with a line waiting to be seated when they opened at 6pm. Not sure it's like this on every cruise but with a different menu each night CK popularity has increased.

Yes the nightly changing menu would probably make it more crowded. We were the last group to have just the harvest and vineyard menu for the 7 nights. Will have to try the new menu on oasis in oct.

  8. For the coaster to single ride you have to be at least 12 years old. If its 2 people riding together the driver must be 18 years and older.

The water slide is a stainless steel coaster with sea water being pumped to the top. Its ok but after a few slides my son was done. He would rather drive the dragon tail coaster.

  9. We are in a Junior Suite on the Oasis later this month and wondered if we would be able to have breakfast or lunch in the CK? I read in a previous post we could for dinner with reservations.

JS is for dinner only. You have to be in a full suite to eat in coastal kitchen for breakfast and lunch.

  10. Is there a problem being in Sky Class GS getting into CK when convenient for us??? Without a reservation??? Any experience? We are so looking forward to the CK. We were hoping it offered lots of flexibility for dinner times.

On allure in june and oct and made reservations for dinner in ck.

In june it was a little busy from 6 to 7 but there were open tables after 7 for walk ups.

In oct it was pretty empty every night. You could walk up for a party of 2 to 4 almost anytime. This was an observation while having drinks in the suite lounge or having dinner in ck.

  11. From rccl guest conduct policy:

"For purposes of complying with the minimum drinking age requirements, a guest’s age is

established upon boarding at the beginning of the cruise vacation. If a guest celebrates their birthday during the cruise vacation, and thereby becomes of age to consume alcohol, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Services Manager to modify ship’s records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the vacation. The guest will be required to appear at Guest Services to present a valid government-issued form of identification to permit verification of their age.

No guest under age 18 may possess or consume alcohol at any time."

Sorry did not remember the part that you could go and have the restriction removed. Or rccl amended their policy the past few years since i have read it. So yes you can now drink when you turn 21.
