  1. Just have to say this is the best thread I have seen in a while. That being said I am afraid my experience might put me in the kitchen as a pastry chef, but what I would really like would be working the future cruise desk. Spending the last 15 years searching and researching constantly and being glued to these boards, I do believe I know more than most I have seen on board.

  2. DH and I were looking for something special to do for our 25th anniversary when we set sail on the Glory back in '05.

We had never really researched cruising before we booked, but between the time we booked and the time we sailed we learned everything we could, much  of it on these boards.  I guess the main thing we were concerned about was fitting in.  Would we be dressed well enough?  Would we get lost?  Would we like the food? and so on.  What we discovered was that the ships are so big with so many people that you just go about your own vacation and no one could care less what you wear or what you eat etc.

Now 13 years and 14 cruises later we never give a thought to those things.  We know we can have a wonderful time no matter the ship or the itinerary or the food or the cruise director.  In just 13 1/2 months we will do it all again.  No worries just anticipating another amazing vacation.

  3. We have done several b2bs.  Our experiences have been similar on each but not always exactly the same.  We did do one on the Magic last fall.  Met in dining room.  Escorted off the ship.  Went through customs.  Escorted  back on the ship. Had group photo taken and were offered drinks in the atrium, then had the run of the ship for maybe an hour.  Timing is very unpredictable.  Sometimes the wait is not long at all and sometimes it can take quite some time.

B2bs are great.  Hope you have a wonderful voyage.  We will be doing one a month after you again on the Magic.

  4. We were on the Magic in the fall and paid for the most expensive package.  Honestly much of the time we could not even get on line and when we did it was so slow it was pretty much useless.  We will not buy it again unless they greatly improve it, which I understand they will be doing across the fleet soon.  I believe some ships already have the upgraded service.  I would love to hear from anyone who has experienced the upgraded service.

  5. I have often booked early and a few for May. My observation is that typically the end of April is a cut off point, so if you are looking for cruises up until the end of April you can book almost a year sooner than if you are looking for a May cruise We also are looking to book for May of 2020 and expect to have to wait until early 2019..

  6. I am sorry your cruise did not live up to your expectations. I have always found finding seats by the pool impossible. The buffet food is just that buffet food, seldom great. We have been on the Magic before as well as the Dream and did find the Dream class more crowded than then Conquest class, but only marginally so. I am pleased to hear how well embarkation and debarkation went. We sail on the Magic a week from today and while we don't expect everything to be perfect, we do expect to have a wonderful time. I do sincerely hope your next cruise is more to your liking.

  7. We need to connect to the internet to check on work at home and we use it to book a last minute hotel room if we are decide to stay an extra night once we land.

Since we need for those few things we thought we might enjoy using it now and them for some games etc. We are doing a b2b and only purchasing it for the second week.

  8. This is my warning. B2B's ARE ADDICTIVE. We live quite a ways from port, so for us it just seems to make sense to maximize our time on the ship since it costs so much for air.

We have completed 3 b2b's. Another was cut in half by a broken arm, and another turned in to a side by side when the Liberty had an engine fire in Saint Thomas. If not for those incidents we would have 5 b2b's behind us and we have another booked for the first of September.

Vacation time is precious and it seems that if you have busy lives at home it takes a few days to wind down and relax. Those extra few days a b2b provide mean you have time to wind down and still have time to enjoy the rest of your vacation.

    Have a wonderful vacation.
