For a cruise there is no benefit to us. If I had to pack like I was bouncing from city to city every 2 to 3 days I would just do a tour by land. Part of the trade-off for getting the limited drive-by experience a cruise gives you is unpacking and packing only once. In a few weeks we will have two men, limited toiletries, two 25" rollers and 2 carryons + backpacks or day bags. I'm not washing underwear in a sink or dressing for dinner like I'm hiking the Amazon just to save a few pounds.

We are looking at visiting Taormina on upcoming cruise. I have been to the area before, although not to Taormina itself, and think we would be fine skipping a guided tour. I have inquired with two tour/transfer companies but I haven't seen much info about the public taxis. I've read they are readily available and sometimes aggressively want to offer a ride from the Messina port to Taormina, but what about the return trip? Do they typically wait for you or are you on your own to find another taxi back? I would like to have at least 3 to 4 hours for sightseeing and lunch, but would also like the option to head back to Messina earlier.

US FICNEN would require a CTR for any cash out totaling more than $10,000 within a days time. There used to be a few exceptions but I’m not sure they apply now. A CTR is totally different than the W2G.

They are trying to make money? Shocking. You could easily consume 3 glasses of wine, 2 coffees and 2 bottles of water and exceed in value the retail price of the premium package.

In United’s terms it says you have to use the credit card to purchase the ticket in order to get bag fees waived. Probably not. Lately for us it makes more sense to go all in and upgrade to the Elevate package.

I'm not sure what Guest Services was supposed to do if there no charges. Someone could have been giving the wrong cabin# due too much time spent at the martini bar, a language barrier, the general befuddled state that half the passengers seem to be in, who knows. If people purposely giving wrong numbers to get a few free drinks is a big issue, it's not my issue to worry about. I'd let Celebrity handle that one.

You still have to test before getting on the ship. No sign that is going away any time soon. At least not through summer.
