  1. We sail on Symphony on September 18 from Venice (yay!!!)…in looking over our Pre-cruise information from Crystal, Crystal states “the ship will be located at Venezia TerminalPasseggeri Porto Della Marittima 30135.” This location is in the lagoon.
I seem to remember that when travel agents and influencers left from Venice…they were bussed from a meeting place to the ship. Am I correct in thinking that our situation is not similar? ie…they were bussed to a different place…we will be departing from the above address in the lagoon?
TIA for any and all insights

  2. Thank you all for your suggestions…we have decided to engage a driver while in Naples (we visit Naples later in our cruise)…he is going to take us on a scenic drive to the restaurant, after lunch he’ll take us around for a bit and return us to the Port.

We’ve decided to spend our Sorrento day on a boat tour around Capri, visit some caves…perhaps swim a bit.

I really do appreciate the folks on this board who took the time to respond to my question…you helped clarify for me my choices.

    Thanks again ♥️

The rules for driving do not apply to professional drivers (car services or taxis) so that won't be an issue for them.

As for how close they can get to the restaurant, it depends on the location.  If the OP posts the name/address of the restaurant we can answer that.

The restaurant is Le Bonta del Capo

And thank you all for taking the time to help us out😊

When is this visit?  And what are the hours of the visit?  If the timing aligns it would be a lot less expensive and probably faster to take the ferry.

September 24…we are in port overnight from 9/23 until 7:00 pm on 9/24…we are older and really need direct transport from port to our restaurant

We will be doing the same for the same reasons. We are planning on taking the ferry. I haven’t looked up exact schedules but it is a nice way to arrive in Positano vs all the stairs. Just an idea.
Also agree that Rome in Limo has excellent reviews and will look to them for disembarking.

Thank you for this suggestion…I believe the restaurant is a bit of a distance from the ferry …we are older and wish a direct drive from Sorrento port to the restaurant.

And yes it is a comfortable space, and I like it much better than the classic Sapphire, but is it worth that much more per person than for a classic Aquamarine?

    Yes, that is the question.
Although our next four sailings are in Sapphire suites…based on the fact that we will no longer have complimentary unlimited specialty restaurant access, nor the ability to host a cocktail get-together …hardly seems worth the premium over an Aquamarine. As you’ve pointed out…we’ll take the savings and pay the very reasonable $50 per visit.

And, thank you @AtA for taking the time to post your review…it was a wonderful read♥️

  7. In my opinion, it’s hardly a faux pas (an embarrassing or tactless act) to want to thank a hard working individual crew member with a gratuity…here’s my personal take: these wonderful crew members spend months away from their families working long hours to enhance our time on board and it gives me pleasure to thank them for their efforts…

To quote a frequent poster… “You do you; I’ll do moi”.

Celebrity used to be my cruise line of choice, but Crystal ruined me for sailing on Celebrity again.

    This!
For many years we cruised Celebrity in suites…in 2015 we sailed Symphony…NYC to Dover … and never looked back ♥️♥️♥️

I have confirmed Vintage Room dinners will continue to be offered as they were in the past. Guests will have the opportunity to sign up for them once on board. They expect to offer this starting with the first voyage.  They expect to offer lunches as well but just like in the past length of itinerary and the number of port versus sea days often determines whether or not luncheons are offered. And in both cases it comes down to interest in them by the guests.

Keith, Such great news about the lunches♥️…The first voyage of our September b2b on Symphony has no sea days, but the second has two sea days, so we are now very hopeful.

  10. Timmy and I are booked on Symphony, back to back - September 2023 and on Serenity, back to back - November 2023. We’ve been in contact with some of the crew and one of our favorite sommeliers who are returning …we cannot wait to sail with old friends and make new ones. We are looking forward to posts here from the inaugural sailings. ♥️♥️♥️

Serious question: does anyone know the status of our own @BWIVince?  Initially I figured he was buried by work, but it's been forever and a day since he's dropped by this silly little neighborhood.  I miss the insights and sanity of the Voice of Reason.

    This! I miss Vince too😊
