  1. John Heald wrote this today, Monday the 27th.

We have not made any announcements about this because it doesn’t change any of our protocols. If people have it and when people have it it doesn’t matter as far as boarding is concerned."

Mr. Heald also said this to another question on the subject: " No, we certainly not going to require it. If you have it it does not affect boarding or anything else as we have not extended our protocols to include booster shots."

  2. John Heald said this morning, Monday the 27th, about the booster timing or whether you have it at all: " We have not made any announcements about this because it doesn’t change any of our protocols. If people have it and when people have it it doesn’t matter as far as boarding is concerned. Thank you so much mate and I’m here if you need anything"

  3. The patient in the video at the 10:45 mark isn't merely wearing a nasal oxygen tube. That's a large 3 hose pressure mask they have on at the dinner table. Anyone with eyes can see. The staff in the dining area should have contacted the ship's Medical Center to report the situation for investigation in the interest of safety and public health.

The Spirit Class is often referred to as the Goldilocks of the different ship classes. It's just right.

It sounds to me as though among the classes of Carnival ships, and there are many these days, the Spirit class is the favorite of many people. I agree and have sailed all 4 ships of the Spirit class and I prefer them to the smaller Fantasy ships and the huge Dream class and now MG is even more over the top. The Spirit class are so roomy in the public spaces.

They're not going to be tripping through the hallways, they're going to be out on deck at their patio which is open to all Havana guests to walk around before sail away.

This is what I thought the OP meant, too. Locating their patio and tossing their carry-ons over the railing shouldn't bother the workers.

YMMV and opinions vary but I wonder if having 2500 aboard has something to do with this level of selection . Maybe … who knows. Everything else has been good. La Cucina tonight for us …..

We've never found the standard lunch buffet fare on the lido steam table to be anything more than meh. It's the outstanding variety of other outlets open for lunch on sea days that keep us coming back to Carnival. Blue Iguana, Pig and Anchor, Guy's, the Deli and now with Mardi Gras even more lunch options!

  7. Does anyone know the medical credentials of "Dr." Zarko in the spa on Mardi Gras who performs derma-filler injections as well as other skin "treatments"  The good "doctor" was interviewed by John Heald who told him his name would be good for a villain in a James Bond movie.  My husband says his parents named him Doctor because they always wanted a son who was one 🙂

    Is he the real deal?

Finally today had a substitute doc tell me my blood pressure meds (Lisinopril), which is an ace inhibitor, is highly linked to dry cough and other covid-like symptoms.  I just switched meds and hope that this makes a difference.

My cough reaction stopped the next day when I switched.

The cough question on the form from Carnival in my mind implies a persistent cough.

I'd characterize those examples as bribes, not tips.

I'm reminded of the joke American food and beverage servers who work near the border with Canada often tell: What's the difference between a canoe and a Canadian? Canoes tip.

Directors of Housekeeping across the land and their GM's strongly disagree. Have you recently reviewed the housekeeping payroll for a 4-Diamond property versus a 3-Diamond and do you know the difference and why there's a variance?

Ha! This is a fun memory of my first "real" job interview after hotel school. My interview was peppered with questions like this by the D.O.H.  I got the job but I didn't stay in hotel management because a husband and kids took me on another path in life. I like that Carnival and most of the big cruise companies call the top position in the rooms division on their ships the Hotel Director. It's a good reminder that cruise ships are hotels that take us to fun places. Thanks for the memory, sanmarcos.

Maybe I'll try asking to be seated at a large table but only if it's mostly solo cruisers.

In 1995, before YTD existed, I never had to request to be seated with other solo guests. Carnival's table reservation system at that time would automatically assign solos to a table in the MDR. Multiple tables would be assigned as needed. This was on the Holiday and Jubilee. If Carnival no longer uses that reservation system they may want to go back to it. I enjoyed not having to ask to be seated with other solo guests.

Try it, you may enjoy the difference 🙂

Solo people don't fertilize their lawns? 🏴‍☠️

We own condominiums and the landscaping crew do all the fertilizing for us.

How big is your lawn there in our nation's capital? 🙂
