  1. Okay, so we ended up doing the tour anyway, as my husband really wanted to do the herb garden.  It wasn't HORRIBLE...but was meh as expected.  There is a self-guided tour as you enter, but our tour guide did the tour instead of us reading the posters.  She gave us a lot more information than we could've ever received from the posters.  We did get three TINY tastes, and got shuffled into the gift shop and bar.  We each purchased an adult beverage and at $8 each was very reasonably priced.

Would I do it again?  Depends on what it's paired with.  Only if it's paired with another great activity.  Will not seek it out on it's own.

    Thanks for sharing.

If this comes to fruition, it is more likely that the current Brisbane port entries in the name of Voyager of the Seas are the placeholder for Quantum.  The entries are Dec 24, Jan 2, Jan 10 and Jan 20.

If Quantum comes this far, I expect she'd also drop into Sydney for some cruises.  Royal holds some extra entries in the Sydney ports calendar that could be used for this purpose.

Interesting...I had a waiter on Harmony tell me in September 2017 that Allure would be going to China.  He said he's been on every ship that has transitioned from the US to China since RCCL first started sending them there, and he would be joining Allure when she goes.  So if that FB post is true...that may make what this waiter told us be true as well...

  3. here is the recipe from RCI's cookbook Carte du Jour

2 thin cucumber slices, skin on

    1 oz lime juice

    2 oz gin

    1 oz simple syrup

Combine cucumber and lime juice in a mixing glass and muddle with a muddler until cucumber is broken into small pieces. Add gin and simple syrup and transfer to an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake well then pour into a rock glass.

That's not the recipe for the 150 Central Park martini, sorry!

    cucumber

    basil

    vodka

    lemongrass syrup

    sour

Here's a YouTube video by Halee - martini starts around 3:40.

  4. So the Blue Experience was doing construction yesterday.

The tasting room/bar is open at 10 am everyday (you can buy the liquor there too).

They would not reveal a completion date, other than to say soon, for the experience part.

I'll update when I can get more info.

You are the best - thanks for keeping me (and everyone else) updated!

  5. There is now a "storefront " so to speak called The Blue Experience in Punda which is still in the process of being fully completed.

It's ran by Senior & Company who runs/owns the distillery/liquor factory.

Cross the Queen Emma floating bridge, immediately walk to the left. It's in the pink building.

When it is fully completed, it will be interactive experience. You can purchase the liquor there too while enjoying the view of the Handelskade.

Any idea of when their expected completion date will be? We're going early November and currently have a ship excursion that includes a stop at the distillery. There are a couple other stops on the tour which we are looking forward to, but if we can skip the distillery maybe we can think about a different tour that still has the other parts.

  6. Thanks for your review! We're actually doing a ship excursion there in November. There will also be no ships in port that day, so I'm even more excited about the excursion. We had thought about going on our own, but it's our first time to Antigua and we usually err on the side of caution on first visits until we get comfortable with the area. Next time, we'll feel safe going on our own. I don't see too much info on Ffryes, so reading your review was great!

  7. This review was certainly outstanding.

I'm not as gifted as Lovetocruise2002 for scoping etc. but I'm willing to try. We will be on Preziosa, YC, from 25 August to 1st September. We will be happy to sniff around the ship to get information you may be interested in.

I'd love to watch your scopes! Lovetocruise2002 & I belong to the same periscoper group. We're not allowed to promote other groups here, but she mentions the group often on her scopes. If you let the admin of the group know you're scoping, she will add you to the list and others will be able to find you easily. Using the same hashtag she used will help us find you to, if you don't put your name on the list of August scopers.

  8. I'm guessing Lovetocruise is enroute to the airport. There are tons of loungers at the One Pool. Absolutely no reason to have a "guaranteed seat"! There are towels, towels, and more towels, plus two in your stateroom. No need to check out or in. The pool attendants will put towels down on the padded loungers once you have chosen where you want to be. There was no need for "chair hogs" and I didn't notice any on my cruise. Everyone was very civilized. :D

Thank you! I continued on with one of her tour scopes and the amount of loungers question was pretty much answered. I've found if I don't ask a question when I think of it, I will forget! But I guess that leads to asking questions that were already answered. LOL

Good to know about the towels - that always irks me, to have to pay attention to my towels and the returning of them - especially by my kids. I've been cruising for 26 years, and remember the times when you didn't have to check them in and out, and prefer the old way in this situation.
