Your vaccinated right?  What do you have to worry about?  There are no “rule breakers “ as you say.  Try are people who choose not to get vaccinated myself included.  I don’t mind being tested on the cruise.  But what I don’t get is why are all you vaccinated people paranoid now unvaccinated people will cruise as well.  You got the shot, you should be fine right?

Wrong.   Vaccinated can catch Covid from unvaccinated.  This is absolutely proven.  Benefit of vaccination is that the Covid will not be deadly.  But you can get sick and who wants to get sick!!

  2. CDC has said if ships do not want to go through the process of test cruises, they will be able to sail with only fully vaccinated passengers and crew.  It looks like that is what all the Alaska cruises will require.

They will all just begin sailing without the test cruises.  Good for them.  Let's get cruising going!

  3. I would seem that cruise lines (possibly Carnival exception) are willing to take a risk on unvaccinated cruisers.  I think this is understandable since Princess took much of the flack for the beginning of the Covid in the U.S.

It will remain to be seen what is going to happen in those "forbidden to require covid passport" states.

  4. I have been booked on the first three Adventure sailings since back when they opened.  Along the way, as a very interested party, I have kept up with  the changes over time, including the Website in which you apply for the Bahamas Visa-all in order to align with Royals homeporting needs there.  Bahamas changed to PCR testing only for unvaccinated individuals and no testing required if you can prove fully vaccinated plus 2 weeks.  Royal has always required their Adventure adult passengers to be fully vaccinated and the pcr test for children to cruise from the Bahamas.

All of this has/had nothing to do with CDC or U.S. requirements.

But this doesn't align with Royal's message on their website or on the Bahamas requirements

On the RCL website when you go to book a Nassau cruise, it says

Adult guests (18+) on this sailing must provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination, completed 2 weeks prior to sailing. Guests may need to provide a negative RT-PCR test result to enter the country their cruise departs from; age requirements vary. A Health Questionnaire must be completed within 24 hours prior to sailing. Booked guests will be provided full details before their cruise.

I was under the impression this was a Bahamas requirement, not a Royal one. So for Royal to change policy would mean that the Bahamas changed theirs, which I have not seen any indication of.

The 12/16 year old message is more likely to align with CDC guidelines than Bahammas ones..or so I think. We will know once the CDC guidelines are updates soon.

Bahamas aligned their requirements to Royal's requirements.  Originally, Bahamas only permitted entry to their country with a negative PCR test, working with Royal they changed their policy and VISA application to require PCR for only unvaccinated and permitted Vaccinated with Proof to enter without testing.  Royal still requires all adult to be vaccinated=no vaccine, no cruise.

  6. If you have the email, look specifically at where this vaccine info is included:

Under the ad for "sail as soon as June" on Adventure and directly above the info regarding the Air to Sea for the Adventure cruises.

My interpretation is that it only applies to the Adventure summer cruises which have always said before that all adults must be fully vaccinated with NO exceptions.

I'm actually glad to see this as it possibly indicates that Royal will still sail from Bahamas though they have canceled the Vision's Bermuda cruises.

I just saw posted elsewhere that a conference room at the British Colonial Hilton is going to be used for check in. Sorry if that is already posted

Well, that would be mighty inconvenient for those flying in on June 12.  First take transportation from the airport, then have to again transport over to the port.  Hope they don't think we can all walk over!

  8. Thanks for your reply, BirdTravels.                                                                                      As I said, we are on the AD June 12 also and have not received any emails or communication from Royal.  Guess I'll give them a call and make sure someone puts us on "the list."

  9. Haven't seen the January changes; but anyone else sailing on Mariner November 2021 through April 2022 needs to check their cruise to see if it is still a go on their booked date.

We had several back to backs planned and all the dates of our 4 day cruises have changed.  They are changing many of their 4 days to 5 days and it  completely messes up the sailing dates.  And so far, Royal is only offering an option to sail on another 4 day which may or not fit in if one had planned to do the 4, then 3, then 4 day, etc. back to backs.  Not even letting a switch to the Independence in place of Mariner.     grrrr Royal!

  10. I have used my mobility scooter on Ocean Cay.  Easy to get off the ship and to travel around the island to just sightsee on their paved path.                                    However, I would not have been able to drive through the sand.  Also, it would have been a very difficult walk on the sand to the water as the sand is not the compact type we sometimes see in the U.S.

Still, I would encourage you to get off the ship.  The buffet restaurant and shopping were accessible, and I was also able to ride their small tram to the end of the island and back- a very short ride. Also, you'll still be able to see the small Junkanoo Parade they have at night along with the Laser show.

But, nope, no way to get down to the water.

  11. My daughter, grandchildren and I stayed in Hotel Abbazia in 2016 after a Med cruise. After  2 weeks touring all over Italy, this is the hotel that they all remember the most and thought was the best.  It was so convenient to everything, had a lot of charm.  And the European breakfast was quite satisfactory.

It is located near the train station and not too far from the bus depot, and was also great for catching the water bus to different places.

Though it appears to be expensive, it is a good value-especially if you want something unique.  It was originally a monastery and the breakfast room is in what was the chapel!

  12. Final payment due today (12/2/2020) for  our January 31 Seaside.  So they've collected all payments for January and will probably cancel all January cruises tomorrow?🥴

Scheduled for February 28 on Seaside, our final is due Dec. 31 so waiting til then and they'll probably cancel all of February😥 on January 1 if not sooner.
