  1. No, I didn't at all. Admittedly, I probably need to be a little less opinionated about something I haven't even tried yet. Hopefully someday we'll bite the bullet!
  2. So true. It wouldn't have been my color wheel choice but, hey...you know what they say about opinions...🙂
  3. Woohoo! Really happy for you. I think you will be pleased with your decision to try YC and MSC.
  4. Ok, Maybe I should have said that I like your CC persona...😊 And if you insist...I think to assume that many cruisers feel entitled is presumptuous on your part. I also believe that everyone who cruises is entitled to have an enjoyable experience regardless of their chosen room category but those who opt for a suite category, are entitled to an elevated experience based on their elevated, often times significantly, room category price. So if I'm paying 10K for a suite on Celebrity and the experience is relatively similar to that of an inside cabin, what's the point of paying extra? Anyway, perhaps I misunderstood your comment, but in the grand scheme of all things cruising and life in general, it's not really that important. Just some general musings from a gal who has lots of work to do but would rather chill around here 😎. Guess I better get back to work.
  5. Great news! Glad it worked out. I hope you enjoy your cruise!! Not long now...
  6. A lot of people request this and I'm genuinely curious as to the reason. IDK why but I always thought the daily planner was unique to each sailing. Or are they more standard?
  7. Agree. Wonder why they didn't paint it white to blend in with the rest of the trim...or blue, even. Never would have thought of orange.
  8. A few different thoughts come to mind when I read this comment....but I like you, Pinboy so I'm just gonna smile and nod and leave my arguments at the door. After all, we are all here for our love of cruising. 🙂
  9. We also spent time on NCL in their Haven, which seems to be in line with current Celebrity pricing. I thought the Haven product was great until I met MSC. I know I'm sounding like an MSC cheerleader and I don't mean to. They aren't perfect. But for the price and suite amenities, it has definitely become my go-to. I want to try the E-class at some point but every time I go to book, I just can't pull the trigger.
  10. Excellent point! I just did a mock booking for Beyond based on this thread and entry level suites for a 7 night Caribbean cruise with 3 sea days and uninteresting (to me) ports of call was $4900 pp. Aqua class with all the perks was $2600 pp. I just can't rationalize paying those prices when we just finished a Yacht Club all inclusive experience on MSC for less than 2K for 4 nights and about 4 K for 7 nights. Just can't do it.
  11. Suite pricing has kept us off E class ships.
  12. Self-wiping window washer, perhaps? Other than that, I'm stumped.
  13. Loving all the pictures! Luminae looks beautiful. Are there many window tables?
  14. Just a real pain. FWIW, I don't find the loyalty perks for MSC to be all that great. I have benefitted from the 5% off but it applies to the booking so I didn't worry that DH wasn't status matched. Unless you have enough points to get you to the highest MSC tier, the trouble outweighs the benefit a lot of the time. Maybe give them a call?...that could be a hassle as well but might be worth a try.
  15. When I did the status match I uploaded a screenshot of my loyalty level with Celebrity and it was in the form of a jpeg. I don't recall seeing a pic of what I was submitting when I hit the submit button. I did get a message like "Your info has been received" or some such confirmation.
  16. Have to agree that the wifi log in/out when on the island is very annoying. Part of me thinks “why do I even need it, I’m on vacation” but the other part of me says “because I have to have my cruise critic fix”. 😊 glad your overall experience was good. I think the 3 & 4 night cruises are perfect for the MSC newbie to try them on for size.
  17. Nothing! If that's what it's used for, (and I think the ships themselves have plenty of CCTV to cover themselves)...posting on tictoc and youtube for likes and status points is something entirely different. Just my opinion, of course.
  18. Was just on Meraviglia and there was a separate area but you are correct...no bar. But on Seashore, there was a bar in the private sundeck area. As far as separate dining I think I saw Aurea guests going into a different dining room. I could be/might be wrong so am not above correction.
  19. I love a good deal! I was just looking at MSC Explora and was wondering if it would apply to that line...but a quick bit of research says probably not since they are a separate fleet under the MSC umbrella.
  20. Is this actually the case for US sailings? I have no foreign transaction fees on the credit card we used out of port canaveral.
  21. Totally get what you're saying but we're talking about the highest category on the ship which in turn costs a pretty penny. I've been in a RS three times and didn't even know asking for PJ's or robes was a thing...you better believe I'm asking on our upcoming Solstice cruise. For what we are paying to be in a RS, my butler should be begging me to take a robe!
