  1. No priority parking for YC but I’ve never had an issue with parking. Always plenty to go around. I park in the parking deck at least I story up. You can drop your bags at the curb and then park if you want. The last time we parked in PC we paid when we entered as opposed to when we left after the cruise. And there was one mean man who yelled at me…literally, bc I pulled into a parking lane that wasn’t opened yet… but was getting ready to. Don’t worry, in good old fashioned southern charm, I told him where to go and how to get there. Left my DM dumbstruck for 10 minutes. Other than that, parking in PC is pretty much a breeze.
  2. I've been on 4 MSC cruises...only 2 show up in my past history...I'm not sure it's worth the hassle, honestly...but it's good to read that some people are having their e-mails answered.
  3. I thought points were only earned based on room category and number of nights per cruise. I'm not sure you earn points for on board spending. If so, this is new to me but a welcome little tid bit of information.
  4. My perception of LPC is that it's gimmicky but I've never tried it. I will be on Reflection at the end of July and we have included specialty dining. I am considering taking my mother, just to try it. What's the menu like and how's the pacing of the meal? Do you have to wait for everyone to finish their course before moving on?
  5. huh. How strange. It was open when we were on Meraviglia but we were the only one's there...maybe it doesn't get enough use.
  6. Ha...I'd be happy with just one friend. One year, DH and I footed the bill for our two daughters and their significant others...all of whom were in college. Three balcony staterooms! This was on NCL and the rates were actually pretty good, not to mention the inclusions. Another benefit was that the SO's were taking care of our girls and their high maintenance demands...they forgot that we weren't the Kardashians...ahh good times. They are both married with children now...I love that our cruising days are just me and DH...I'm sure a second generation of cruising will soon begin...
  7. Does anyone know if the Military discount can be stacked with the Voyager's club discount? Or is it one or the other?
  8. Yes, there is a bar in this area!
  9. True, in theory. The practice is much more elusive. I had better luck with introducing myself to the cocktail waiter and letting him know where I’d be (in general). After I did this, the drinks were served. Prior? Not at all.
  10. We actually saw it move from the top deck down to deck 5(?) one time. Later it was back up on 14 (we missed it) so it moved at least twice.
  11. Like BCD, I'm betting DH has scoped this area as well. Isn't it nice that our guys think of such things?
  12. YIKES! What would their mothers think...or better yet, their fathers? Anyway, hopefully all twerking stays outside the casino....
  13. Yes, I tend to agree. Which is fine...it's saving us a ton of money. Opted for the YC Deluxe instead. Although, the accommodations look very nice. The thing that sealed it for me was the lack of half bath in the OS. DH said if he still has to find his morning spot why pay more?
  14. I'm glad that Celebrity finally started offering shorter itins for those who just can't squeeze in longer cruises. I'm taking my DM on one next month because she likes to gamble and we'll have fun together in the casino. I just have to wonder...is a Celebrity booze cruise anything like a Carnival booze cruise? My DM does love her martinis but I can't see her twerking in the atrium because she's had one too many...maybe she'll surprise me πŸ˜‚.
  15. I think you'll find a nice, upscale feel for the most part. You can do as much or as little as you like. There is generally something for everyone...ie solarium, pool deck, nice gym facilities. I can't really recommend Celebrity for the food and drink alone but as a complete package, I think it's a nice product. As for nickel and diming...it depends on the package(s) you enter with on embarkation day. We always have a drinks and wifi package...for us, a must. Celebrity is NOT Disney...in any way, which IMO is a blessing. If you like Disney ships for ambiance, layout, food, etc...you may not be happy with Celebrity.
  16. We were also disappointed more often than not with the food on Edge but Luminae was our assigned dining room and we felt the MDR was better! We didn't experience your service issues but the lack of food quality was enough for us to cancel our upcoming cruise on Beyond in favor of MSC. By and large I love the Celebrity product but am giving them a rest while they get this food thing sorted....
  17. We are considering the OS on Seascape for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The amenities description is pretty much the same as the other YC categories. Are there additional perks that I'm missing? Like liquors in room, in suite dining? Specialty dining? Just doing a cost/value analysis... Thanks!
  18. We got monogrammed PJ's on our cruise in March, 23 in a RS on Solstice. On embarkation day, our butler asked how we wanted them monogrammed...and our size preference. I got a large thinking they would shrink in the wash and boy did they ever! Still, it was a nice gesture while it lasted.
