  1. I know on another cruise line they allow you to "link" 2 or 3 reservations... I realize that I have to log into each reservation each time to make the reses, but we are in one room and my niece is in another and it would be much easier to "see" each others reservations to make planning easier. Does NCL allow or have a way to do this?

  2. Interesting thing about Airplane coffee- probably has to do with the water on the planes along with the altitude at cruising speed - Taste buds all go funky - LOL just giving an explanation here .. but I am a big coffee drinker and pretty much drink it anywhere!!

  3. A lot of people on our Breakaway cruise, disembarked in Bermuda with their golf clubs and actually went to stay in golf resorts on the island for the nights we were there so they could get up really early in the morning and play golf!

The Mid Ocean Club golf course was built in 1921 and has lots of historical significance - played by many world figures over the years like Churchill, Roosevelt. It is one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. It is still a private club but visitors are allowed to play:

Here is the "secret" as to how to get your tee time at this course:

I absolutely HATE when people call Bermuda a " Caribbean " Island!!! Like in the article talking about how to get free tee time! NOTHING like Caribbean Islands, people are friendly, they dont bug you when you get off the ship to buy their stuff etc, etc!!!

This one is located on a beautiful island in the Caribbean, it was designed by the father of American golf course architecture….and it’s private.

  4. That must have changed then. Other than the time my 8 year old son ordered two glasses of wine, I never saw a single beverage charge on our bill and I checked it regularly on the app and the tv.

LOL your son???? I gotta hear that story!!

    :D

  5. It is something that NCL could learn from Disney (parks ) If you have dinner reservations and dont cancel or dont show within 15 minutes (havent called either) then the reservation is released , AND it also works if you DO cancel - We did this one day - we couldnt get into a specific restaurant that was and during the day I happened to go onto the app and there was 1 open reservation ! believe me I grabbed it! Many of the restaurants book up the same way as ships

  6. You do realize that's an urban myth, right? Alka Seltzer does not make an animal explode.

It may be but it is still visualy a site ! I have had 1 or 2 encounters with sea gull on my shoulders! [emoji3]

  7. I chose the earliest time available (10am) for our "arrival time" at the pier. I Just looked at my edocs and noticed this:

"Please note the time you have selected to arrive at the pier.

Guest arriving to the pier before your select arrival time will be asked to come back at the appropriate time."

What has been your experience at NYC with this? If I arrive at 9am, will they really turn me away?

Supposed to start boarding at 12pm. what has been your experience with this also?

    Thanks!

The arrival times are there so that "hopefully" the waiting area does not get so crowded that no one can move and to give the folks checking you in time to process.. In Boston they did look at our arrival times... and I saw people that had later arrivals put into the back of the line and ones that were there on time pulled into the line if they were a bit late becasue of traffic.

  8. "They gave us the a la carte bill and we definitely made out better."

Ok I thought I had all of the ala carte vs SDP down but now I am confused again :( I understood that EVERYTHING on the alacarte menus was "included" - no extra entrees - but sides and apps as many as you would like.

  9. Not sure about the fish, but the seagulls love alka seltzer :D

Omg I just spit soda all over my computer! The visuals of exploding sea gulls is to much! As I say this husband says it also works on frogs.. although I have NO idea how he knows this !

  10. and what happens if the fish dont like that brand or type.they could turn on you, throw a tantrum and leave the table.

Please check the sugar content as well,or we will end up with obese fish in the future, which could cost millions to correct.

One option is here in australia we send snorkelers out with a zip-lock bag, with tuna chunks and fish blood, once in water, open and empty, and then float around marveling at the really big fish that have been attracted, they will be easily noticeable,as they will have big fins sticking out of their backs.some have really big smiles, some odd heads shaped like a hammer.

    Please enjoy:):);)

    love it!!!

  11. Thank you!

Sorry if a dumb question but why don't I want to take my passport with me off the ship while I'm in Bermuda? NOT THAT I EVER WOULD (!!!) but what if I was a pier runner who missed the boat and needed to fly home or something?

Correct me if I am wrong ( some of the more experienced cruisers here) If you arent checked into the ship and numerous pagings for you and waiting for a while - then from what I gather is they get your stuff for you ( I assume they have an override code for the safe ) but this may be just boating myth :)

  12. So if I wanted to prepay our shore excursions (I usually do to avoid a huge bill at the end of the cruise), I can't do so while using this promo? Even if I book over the phone like they require?

I have prepaid for my excursions - did not call the Shorex line- Afterwards (after reading the many threads here) I called, they told me I had 2 options

    1. Cancel my excursions, refund the fee and then rebook them (not being charged till aboard)

    2. Keep what I have and I WILL receive credit on board for my excursions AFTER completing each one . I chose 2 as i didnt want to deal with 1 . :)

  13. I find the whole lobster mania amusing. For a couple of reasons. First that NCL would eliminate it from the MDR for cost cutting reasons. Lobster is cheaper today than it has been in many, many years. I have a number of frozen, Maine or Atlantic Canada, tails in my freezer right now. They ranged in price from $3.99 to 5.99 each, and we are a long way from the nearest lobster trap.

Secondly, that it such a big discussion on these boards. It is not now and hasn't been a "luxury dish" for years. That paragon of fine dining, Red Lobster, serves millions of pounds of it a year. It is often tough unless cooked to perfection. And often on cruise ships, it is incredibly small.

But yes, virtually every other mainstream line, RCCL, Princess, Carnival, Celebrity offer it at no-charge in the MDR.

Thank you ! Absolutely what I was thinking. But OMG  please leave if you dont like that NCL isnt serving "FREE " Lobster in the MDR!! Nobody is telling you to pay your money and sail on NCL !

  14. I might be very wrong here but since it gives her cabin # then does it really matter if it says fwd or aft? there is only one room number 9918- it just will come on a different elevator and the person delivering will know where it goes. Aft is in the Stern by the way - not the front if it had been in the front it would say Forward Facing Islesdave - sorry
