  1. We will be on the Splendor Panama Canal cruise over Xmas and New Years. I know a cruise of this length normally has two "suggested formal" nights. Does anyone know what we can expect on this particular cruise? I would think the formal nights would be Xmas eve and New Years eve. Is this correct? And will there be any others? My wife is trying to plan her packing! Thanks.
  2. On an upcoming RSSC cruise stopping in George Town, our original booked excursion was cancelled. They have added a few new excursions, but so far, none are really of interest to us. So my question is - where does the tender drop us off? Is it right at a downtown sort of area where we can simply go off the ship on our own, explore shops and such, maybe grab lunch and then head back? Or will be be dropped someplace where we will first need transport to someplace else? Thanks in advance.
  3. if you are talking about an iPhone, here is the adaptor on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXJFMGF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  4. Question - I know Cayman is a tender port (at least on my upcoming cruise). Does anyone know if the tender leaves us off right at a downtown area such that if we didn't book an excursion, we could simply go to town, do some exploring by foot, maybe have lunch and then head back? Or we we first have to find transport into town? TIA.
  5. Ah - my issue / question exactly. I also got notice that our Grand Cayman excursion was cancelled and none are listed. Hopefully we will get an answer soon and if the port is cancelled, there will be a substitute.
  6. I will be on a cruise disembarking in LA. Is Blacklane a limo company? Was thinking about pre-booking a limo pickup to go to LAX. Should I consider Blacklane? Thanks.
  7. We have taken three Regent cruises so far and generally have not been very pleased with the pre-cruise hotels. For our next cruise, we took the rather meager credit and booked our own hotel and will take a taxi or car service to the pier. For a luxury line, they should do better with the hotels included.
  8. How far in advance may spa reservations be made? And is this available online or does it require a call? Thanks.
  9. I'm sure you're right - but we don't ever use Uber.
  10. While we're on this subject - if arranging for a car service pick-up, what time would you recommend telling them? I'm thinking 9 AM. Anyone have experience doing this at LA? (Note, my flight out of LAX is at around 1:30PM.)
  11. Also, please, exactly where is the cruise port in LA? Looking at options for pre-booking a car service, there seem to be a couple of different locations to choose from.
  12. Would taxis also be readily available at the port?
  13. Okay. I get that. But assuming none of the visited ports require testing, and for example it is a Miami to Miami Caribbean cruise, there would no longer be a requirement to test before embarkation in Miami?
  14. My separate topic was locked - not sure why. But I'll pose my question here: Not too clear to me - is US included as "no test if vaccinated?" Or is US still one of the places that has local regulations requiring testing?
  15. It wasn't there when I was posting this - must have been doing them at the same time. But still have my question about the US.
  16. Received an email this morning about an update to RSSC's SailSafe protocols. Among the items in the email, it says as of September 3, "Vaccinated travelers will not need to test prior to embarkation, subject to local regulations." I would like some clarification - if leaving from the US (Miami in particular) as of September 3rd, will fully vaccinated passengers no longer need an antigen test prior to boarding? It is the "local regulations" that I am not clear about. The US is not mentioned in the email at all. Thanks in advance.
  17. For the testing, is the self test that is "proctored" by video (like eMed) acceptable? So we could fly to the port a day a couple of days early and simply do the test in the hotel room.
  18. For cruises leaving from a US port, I understand that proof of covid vaccination is required, and the website indicates that a photograph of the proof is not acceptable. Is the paper / cardboard CDC card with the vaccinations and dates listed acceptable? Or does Regent require an electronic vaccine document? Thanks in advance.
