  1. On our last cruise - on Grandeur this Spring - all of our laundry came back the same day. Left out before 9 AM and back while we were at dinner that evening.
  2. Goarmy - thanks. But with our carryons we will more likely either take a taxi or just use the Regent bus, which we usually prefer not to use.
  3. Thanks very much. We are staying at the Regent hotel (Fairmont) but added a day on our own for much less than Regent charges. So we will need to taxi from airport to hotel and then hotel to pier.
  4. Any need for Canadian $$ ? Will the taxis take US $ or credit cards? Thanks.
  5. Clearly that would work. My issues with that option are that, unless an iPad mini, the iPad is much larger and heavier than my Kindle. And, it is much harder to read an iPad outside in the sun.
  6. I always make sure I have lots of books downloaded before a trip. If I do need to connect my Kindle to the internet I do it in a port where I can use my phone’s hotspot capability. I always have difficulty getting the Kindle to connect through hotel or ship WiFi. Can’t get to the sign in screen on these public WiFi’s.
  7. FWIW, we take the small hotel credit and book our own hotel. For our last two Regent cruises from Miami we stayed at the JW Marriott on Brickell for two nights. Nice property, smallish pool and in a great area with loads of restaurants. Elite Bonvoy members get a very nice buffet breakfast included. And it is a very short Uber or taxi ride to the pier. (Note - not the JW Marriott Marquis - that's a different property). The one time we stayed in the Regent supplied hotel we were quite dissatisfied.
  8. Just off of the Grandeur. Left the laundry bag in the hall before 9AM and it was always back in the evening when we returned from dinner. Every time! Wonderful service that really sets Regent apart from other lines.
  9. Currently in a PH suite on Grandeur and there is one of each on the side of the bed.
  10. Currently on Grandeur in a PH suite - there is a Bose Bluetooth speaker in our cabin. Not sure what level cabin these start to be included.
  11. Well I'll give a slightly opposing view. We were in a PH last year on Splendor and are soon going to be in one on Grandeur. Previously always had Concierge Suites.Loved the PH. Really liked the separation between Living area and bedroom. One can sleep/nap while other is in the living room. And the bathroom was fabulous. We never use a bathtub and this shower in our PH suite on Splendor was one of the best showers I have ever experienced. That alone was worth it for me. And yes, not as many drawers, but we had plenty of storage with the walk-in closet. Also, the PH has a much larger balcony.
  12. What port is the "salmon bake" excursion in? Thks.
  13. Are you replying to me about Penthouse suite?
  14. When we sailed with another couple last year, I volunteered to make the dining reservations and just got their booking number. Worked out well. It made the reservation in my name, but for a party of four.
  15. On Grandeur, do the Penthouse suite balconies have a lounge chair? Thanks.
  16. Have sailed with Regent several times and always took the air credit and booked our own flights. Sometimes to use air miles. And always to be in complete control of our itinerary. We fly in at least one day ahead of sailing - and sometimes two days early.
  17. We mostly take the credit and book our own hotels. Last year, in Miami, we stayed at the JW Marriott (Brickell) for two nights pre cruise. It was excellent. Great location. As a Marriott elite, we receive full breakfast daily. The area was loaded with restaurants in easy walking distance. We are staying there agin for our next Regent cruise in March. And the port was a short Uber away.
  18. Thank you. That's much earlier than I thought and will be helpful for our next cruise - also in March. Maybe the same one - Grandeur Miami to NY?
  19. May I ask please? - how far in advance of your cruise did you submit the shareholder form? Thanks.
  20. Sailed Splendor over the Holiday season this past year. Laundry service, including pressing, was included for all cabins. It was excellent. Everything came back within a day all folded and ironed - including underwear. Dry cleaning, as others mentioned, is an extra cost.
  21. There are several US outlets in the cabin as well as some USB ports, so you probably won't need any adaptors. We didn't. What may be useful is a multi-outlet cord or adaptor so you can turn one outlet into three. Just be sure it is not a surge suppressor - they are not allowed.
  22. We will be stopping at Charleston on our Spring 2024 cruise. Does anyone know if the cruise port is right at the downtown so that we could leave the ship for a walk and then return for lunch and our afternoon excursion? Or would we first need to shuttle or taxi to the downtown area? Thanks in advance.
