  1. @Travel Junkie Judy I asked my PCC and he came up with "I believe this one is short for Itinerary Change 10% Discount" Mike
  2. I have come across CHITN10D. Anyone any idea what that one is please. Thanks Mike
  3. The next one I am booked on!!!! Probably the Jewel as we have been on it so much and so know it, the crew and officers so well. The officers on the Spirit put me off it BIG TIME.
  4. For those thinking of coming to NZ this was in our newspaper yesterday HTH Mike
  5. @nikkiw60 At present NCL are running Pride with low occupancy due to Covid and the need to have staff who are American Nationals or people with the Green Card which they are finding difficult. They are also taking NO bookings before the end of November 2022. I imagine that bookings after that are going to be grabbed so I suggest you book. Also I imagine that Hawai'i cruises never fall in price as so many people want to do it. It is one of those cruises where Americans don't need a passport and some go yearly. If you want to get a re-fare if a fall ever happens book through a TA in the States.
  6. In New Zealand about the only Insurance we can get is with Allianz as we are both nearly 80. We are looking at 66 days with a cost of about NZD2000 BEFORE any extras.
  7. @jennjess SKYPE to USA 1 800 # is FREE. (That is true for any US Toll Free Number) We "regularly" call that way.
  8. @FirstTimeRiver Book now, if the price falls re-fare through your PCC. The most likely is that prices will rise the way things seem to be going.
  9. Then only Japan cruise on the website is the Jewel in April 2024. (Japan to Seward) However the Jewel does not have any cruises before that posted yet. I would imagine that Japan cruises will be determined by the availability of ships that are going to be in Australia/New Zealand southern summers in 2022/23 and 2023/24. At present the Spirit is scheduled there and it has been from there to Japan previously.
  10. Sounds like the PVSA act is being enforced.
  11. Don't forget you could do Reykjavik-Tromsø-Reykjavik B2B, Many repeated ports but also some different ones. N Star July August
  12. @CruiseDealSweeper Are you able to scan and post the actual document on here please? Thanks.
  13. I think that if you upgrade or re-fare you get the "perks" with the NEW deal and lose the "perks" from the old one.
  14. @Devilaw I see most other lines are cruising the Baltic as normal. As far as I can tell only Viking is going to SPB "Only Viking" is hardly "most other lines" ..... "as normal". The document that started this thread is really clear. NCL CANCELLED all the Dawn July 2023 Baltic cruises with a VERY SPECIFIC reason. They didn't change the itinerary as they did for the 2022 cruises. They didn't cancel the June and August 2023 Dawn Baltic cruises. They didn't cancel or review the itinerary of the 2023 Jade cruises that are still going to Odesa. Most of the concerned comments on this thread are based on that information and people want to know WHY the above have happened. No the spelling isn't an error. it is the Ukrainian spelling and I use it showing support for the Ukrainian people.
  15. @Devilaw I see most other lines are cruising the Baltic as normal. Are they visiting St Petersburg? Seems to me that this was an overreaction to a poorly written communication from NCL. What does the "THIS" refer to?
  16. @prunderw Please explain. Has another port been cancelled and my TA is behind again? My most recent post (#84) was an attempt to explain the wording of part of the email I received cancelling the Jade Baltic cruises of July 2023 part of which, I think, @scooters dad had slightly misunderstood.
  17. @scootersdad Looks like they are giving us 6 1/2 months in 2023 to use the credits. Unreasonable!!!!!!!!! As we share your disappointment, we have issued a 10% discount in the form of a Future Cruise Credit (FCC). This credit can be used through May 17, 2023 and can be applied towards any of our published sailings through December 31, 2023. The FCC will be available on May 17, 2022. You can actually use them to book a cruise from the day you receive them on 17th May 2022 (or use it on a cruise you have already booked). But you have to use them to make a booking by 17th May 2023 so you have a year to actually to apply them to a cruise. So you will have 18 months to use them on a cruise; from 17th May 2022 to 31st December 2023. Typical NCL communication that isn't completely clear.
  18. @Devilaw Thank you. I had not looked for an earlier Black Sea cruise. I will "sticky beak" there as that might be the first place to find any "cancellation" notice from NCL. Mike
  19. @Devilaw There is a Roll Call about the cruise of the Jade if you are interested in joining. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2765879-ncl-jade-may-05-14-2023-black-sea/page/6/ Quite a bit of information there. I have offered to do a Meet & Greet if you are interested in that, see the Roll Call for information. Mike
  20. @Kierste So the letter isn’t misleading, ....... Which letter are you referring to? If it is the one to me that I have produced earlier then I agree that the specifics are not misleading. NCL have cancelled the Dawn cruises in July 2023. The "confusion" is caused by NCL cancelling something that was due in over 12 months time but have not cancelled the Jade cruises in June and August 2023. Why? Also if the cause is as they stated why have they not cancelled the 2022 Baltic cruises? Also why have they not cancelled or changed the Jade cruise. that included Odessa. in May 2023?
  21. @jas283a I think the concern for a number of us is that NCL has cancelled ONLY the July 2023 Dawn cruises already but those in 2022 and in June and August 2023 are going ahead. The reason for the July 2023 cancellation is "Due to the situation between Russia and Ukraine...." Is it not happening now!!! Won't it be happening in June 2023 and August 2023 but it WILL be in July 2023!! Total inconsistency by NCL, as usual!!
  22. @njkate I think that lots of people have booked that cruise for all the Black Sea ports. BUT, and it is a big BUT, why if NCL have had to cancel the Dawn cruises in July 2023 in the Baltic have they not cancelled; or radically altered the itinerary of, this one. The reason given "Due to the situation between Russia and Ukraine...." applies even more here as Odessa is right in the "middle of the action". Not only that but why ONLY July 2023!!!
  23. @prunderw Seems there's much more to this than NCL is sharing. I have already emailed NCL asking for an explanation. I will post my email if and when I get a response. I suggest you do the same.
  24. @Clambake77 Before you make any final decision talk to the Food & Beverage Manager. While Keith is correct; most F&B Ms are quite human and I am sure would view your situation differently to the situation where people want to share with non close family members
