  1. I am OK 😀😅😍 QR_N_CHAMPAGNE-BAR_OTHER_DAYX_EN_1679314713.pdf
  2. They came directly to the YC waiting area with mobile devices.
  3. Good morning Lucas, unfortunately there are no Finnish newspapers on board. But there are Spanish ones. SPAIN La Vanguardia SPAIN Mundo Deportivo SPAIN Diario As SPAIN Muy Interesante SPAIN El Pais SPAIN El Pais Sport There are also newspapers from countries with languages similar to Spanish, such as Mexico or Portugal. For those who are familiar with structured data in JSON format, I have attached the complete list. presse.json
  4. Oh dear, I had planned everything in advance. But I was shopping and now it comes but differently :-o In Le Havre I had me on the beautiful walk (see post above). On the other hand, I was offered here for this day the tour of the bridge and the engine room. In these safety-relevant areas you do not come so often at MSC. But no one on board can tell me what time these two events take place. Can I book them one after the other or do they overlap? I've been to the front desk, the excursion desk, and the YC concierge.... But worst of all, I've already booked another cruise. Crazy! You surely know Formula 1. England is the home of motorsports anyway and in the USA this racing series is also becoming more and more popular. I will be on board the Virtuosa in Abu Dhabi for 5 days in November and visit the race there. The Virtuosa is anchored within sight of the race track. Tickets to the race track are included in the cruise fare. Super interesting. The stay has more the character of a hotel ship than a cruise.
  5. Once we arrived at the terminal, everything went very quickly. The only remarkable thing was the separate passport control by the British authorities. An effect of the Brexit. Without a valid passport you would not have been allowed on the ship, even if you do not want to leave it in Southampton. @BoundForSea The nuts are back, even in three varieties. Let's see if they are also available in the minibar. It is not even 10 o'clock and I am already on the ship and have ordered the first glass of champagne. Wow, so it can go on
  6. I have also arrived in Hamburg. If you feel like having a coffee in the next few days, let me know. Fun fact: You took a picture of my car.
  7. Guys, we're live here now. I've been on board for 2 hours and (almost) everything is developing fantastically. Is it possible to adjust the topic with a reference to the LIVE status? I had been assigned a late check-in time, but I know my MSC 😉 I love the Mediterranean relaxedness instead of the German punctuality (at least in this point 🙂 ) I left in the middle of the night, which was no problem, I could not sleep anyway with anticipation. Whenever you are in Germany, be sure to rent a car and enjoy the German Autobahns. Thanks to the unlimited speed in many places, I was at the port in a few hours. Nevertheless, the ship was already there before me. Here I have seen it for the first time from a distance Parking was also no problem at all. The cars are parked directly in front of the ship 🙂 I went up to deck 19 for you to show you this: I'll continue with my impressions of the check in, see you soon 🙂
  8. Initially, there were no problems when booking without my middle name. But you have to leave it out consistently, even in Web Check In, otherwise everything gets mixed up. Later I had to add my middle name when I wanted to book a cruise with included charter flight. My TA told me that there have been visa problems and problems with the points allocation of the Voyager Club with incorrect names. With this knowledge, I should have written my name correctly from the beginning 😉
  9. Speaking of selection: MSC Virtuosa prints newspapers from 19 countries on board. Among them are exotic ones like Russia, China, or even Saudi Arabia. I have made screenshots of the offers from the UK and the USA. If someone wants to see more countries, please just ask 🙂
  10. The more choices you have, the harder it is to choose ;-o I got the question from MSC, which pillow I would like to have in my bed 🙂 Enclosed for you a small brochure with the different options: P0007691_SLEEPING_EXPERIENCE_FOLDER_A5_ENG.pdf
  11. Have a nice cruise, I am curious how your "experiment" ends. I get on in 2 days in Hamburg, but did not have your courage and stayed in the YC 😉
  12. Did you book through a TA? I have made the experience that in this case the download does not work, but that you get the ticket sent via the TA.
  13. I will also hide a few CruiseDucks 🙂 I lack artistic talent, but this tag will serve its purpose and bring joy to (young) fellow travellers.
  14. I wouldn't say that. All ships have an exclusive sunbathing area on one of the top decks. On the Sae* ships it is really nice and has its own bar, cabanas, sun and shade loungers, etc. And you avoid the overcrowding and noise at the main pool. A valuable perk in summer (or the Caribbean).
  15. Short answer: Pedestrians only Long answer with lots of information: Elbe Tunnel (1911) - Wikipedia By car, I would drive over the Freihafenelb-Bridge
  16. Oh, that would be embarrassing for me as a German. But maybe it only seems that way because you can't take the direct route, but have to cross the river Elbe. Just under 20€ would be OK for 3-4 people.
  17. When I read "MSC YC and Spring Break" at the same time in a topic by Karen, I already suspected the worst. But it came even harder. You wouldn't wish this on anyone on a much-awaited cruise. I wish you a quick repair of the smell problems and still a great trip with wonderful moments. If I felt the same way in a week on the Virtuosa, I'd be just as pissed off. Who have you already spoken to about this? Enjoy it (anyway)
  18. Now there are only 6 days left. I am so happy. But I also have a serious decision to make that you don't read much about here. I now have to name a contact person for emergency situations. Of course it will be one of my loved ones, probably my sister. But is that fair to put such a burden on someone? Wouldn't it be a better idea to be able to make a living will of one's own free will? I think the shipping companies should provide an upload for this as an alternative. What do you think about this? Do you appoint a professional person of trust (e.g. a notary) for this or do you also burden your family with it? None of this used to bother me, but at a certain age you start thinking about it. Especially when you are far from home in countries with completely different legal systems. So my honest question is, how do you handle this?
  19. Now that's cool. I just ordered some great-looking ducks from Amazon last minute. If you're coming with me on the MSC Virtuosa in a week, grab your kids and go hunting 🙂 Thanks @JAGR
  20. Yes, that would indeed be desirable, but it is not a technical problem on (your) client's side. This function is simply not provided for. All reservations with a specific date/time (spa, restaurants, shows, etc.) are possible after embarkation at the earliest. But if you can't even book without specifying the date/time in order to benefit from the favourable early booking rate, then this is definitely another mistake by MSC IT. Unfortunately, there is little you can do in such a case. If the booking option is not displayed in your account, go to the public promo. Does it also go wrong if you click the add button here (see screenshot)?
  21. Oh, I've been on board the Meraviglia and other MSC ships several times. But I didn't know this "tradition" yet. But I find it exciting, can someone please tell me more about it?
  22. Normally you just order à la carte. You can quickly find the latest prices by googling "msc butchers cut menu pics". The experience you have booked does not matter, you are just as welcome with Bella. There are also different savings packages. Have a look here if you like:Cruise Dining & Specialty Restaurants | MSC Cruises (msccruisesusa.com) But be careful, with these packages the choice is limited, always read the small print 😉
  23. I have had two different drink packages depending on the booking. One is the one included in YC, the other is the premium package with an Aurea booking. With both options, I have had no problems getting my drinks in the speciality restaurants on every ship in recent years. PS: Of course, this also applies to the free visits to the restaurant. (through my Diamond membership)
  24. My children are already grown up, so I have no experience of my own. But according to the German website, you have to distinguish between "Baby Time" and "Baby Care" in the Baby Club. Baby Time is in the morning from 8.00 -10.00 / in the evening from 20.00 - 21.00, and additionally in the harbour from 16.00 -18.00. But you have to take care of your baby yourself. The "drop off service" called Baby Care is really rare, only offered at sea from 13.00 to 14.00 and 18.00 and 19.00.
  25. Many greetings to San Juan. I am still reading here with great pleasure. Please keep up the good work. Since it snowed here today (which is very unusual for March here), I envy you especially for the great weather 🙂 Did you really have the 84F as published in the DAILY ?
