  1. 1.) There are bookings reserved for those that are onboard. You can check onboard to see if there are any bookings left for the restaurants. Sometimes, people change their reservations.

2.) "Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced room service menu. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast, in addition to a wider variety of options available 24 hours. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge of up to $7.95 USD will be added to each order placed (Morning coffee, continental breakfast and orders placed by guests sailing in The Haven will not attract a charge)*. Room service is one of up to 29 dining options offered across the fleet, and guests continue to be able to enjoy a wide array of complimentary choices onboard 24 hours a day."

3.) You can arrive early or later than the time chosen.

4.) You can book onboard through the box office as well as through the TV (newer cruise ships have this option).

5.) Check out this site: cruisewithgambee.com/norwegian-drink-lists/

6.) No charge for rope course, but there is for bowling.

    7.) I think it does

8.) There's a behind the tour, but do not know the cost

  2. Since you already booked the cruise, i'm wondering if this is the info you wanted: the extra port fees would be for those that have the ubp package and decided to get drinks while the cruise ship is still at the port. And extra fees on the cruise ship - this depends on what you want to do on the cruise ship as well as other things that NCL would charge you if you decided to get it (room service, drink (coffee) and upcharge in meal).

  3. Looking for information on the Norwegian Jade cruise to Canada and New England

    Thank you

I do not see any NCL Jade cruises to Canada for next year.

There are only 2 NCL Jade cruises of 10-Day Eastern Canada & Quebec from NY, both departure of Oct 2017:

Ports for Oct 6-16: NY, Sydney, Charlottetown, Quebec City, Halifax, NY

Ports for Oct 16-26: NY, Halifax, Quebec City, Charlottetown , Sydney, NY

What kinds of information are you looking for?

Why picked NCL Jade but not NCL Dawn or NCL Gem?

Did you wanted more information on the NCL Jade or the ports?

Please provide more details so other cruisers can help you.

    Thanks.

  4. Hi Jackie,

1.) Join your roll call for your cruise

2.) If there is a meet & greet on the 2nd day of the cruise, join to meet other cruisers. This is usually organized by someone in the roll call.

3.) NCL would listed on their freestyle cruising daily when there would be a solo meeting time and the place to meet up.

4.) Depending on the host of the solo group - there might be sign up sheets posted in the meeting room for what to do. S/he would also ask what cruisers would like to do in term of what shows to see together as well if anyone wanted to have dinner together in the MDR/Savor/Taste.

You would have fun and there are lots of activities. Have a fun cruise & hope to read your review if you decide to write up one after you cruised. :)

  5. Related question: if you have the $50 shorex credit, when is that applied? Right now if I book an excursion the site will give me the 10% Latitude discount but nothing for the $200 in shore credits I'm supposed to have received.

For the $50 shore excursions credit per each port, if you want to use it to book in advance for each port - you would need to call the NCL Shore Excursions Line to have them book for you or wait til on board to book it. The credit would then come off after the excursions are done.

  6. Did you go under the tab of explore and plan? When you click on a restaurant, like for Cagney's - on the right side under your name you would be able to click on it to reserve and for how many party. Then the subtotal would show zero and to be added to your cart. When it added to the cart, you would check out. If the subtotal show a price, then you need to make sure if you really chosen the dining package or if NCL added this to your package. Call NCL after the Labor Day holiday.

For the passport - did you do it the right way? If one computer does not work, try another computer. Might be the cookie problem or if you did it incorrectly. I think the month goes in the middle part?

  7. NCL Bliss - new activities and new restaurants on board this cruise ship. New water slide, a racetrack, a laser tag, etc.

If you are not much into these things, then maybe go with NCL Pearl. There are a bunch of reviews on NCL Pearl but with NCL Bliss - of course there are none right now. For people in the late 60's maybe the NCL Pearl would be best for them.

Experience on a new cruise ship - well if this is the case, if possible maybe plan another cruise with NCL Bliss if you can afford to. You can purchase the cruise next certificate.

  8. One cruiser just recently posted an image of the soap/lotion that NCL provided. It like a lemon grass type. NCL would provide these in your cabin and if you used it all up, you can ask for more through your room steward. If you do not like these lemon scents, then you would have to bring your own.

  9. You should be happy either ways and shouldn't have too many concerns but happy that you would be going on a cruise soon.

To know if you make the right choice of choosing the dining package over the beverage package, you would need to ask yourself if you are a drinker and would the cost be worth it.

I will be going on a cruise with NCL soon and chosen the dining package. I did not pick the beverage package as I know I do not drink that much.

For the storm - no one knows when a hurricane comes or goes. You would still be on a cruise with new itinerary. Shore excursions booked would be refunded and you can make new shore excursions for the new ports.

If you are not satisfied with a inside cabin, you can call to make a change & pay more or wait for the NCL email with an offer to upgrade. The upgrade depends on if the cruise ship is totally booked or not. If you are able to bid an offer & they accepted, you would pay the new price. If NCL did not accept your offer, you would still be staying at your inside cabin.

Since you mention that you have some obc, then it would be fine for you to pick the dining package and then use some obc to pay for some drinks. Make sure to reserve in advance for some popular restaurants.

  10. My favorite drinks:

    Mango Meltdown

    Mudslide

    Pina Colada

It is really a good idea to have a list of all drinks & to print it out. Make it a lot easier as one can go right up to the bartender to request for a certain drink and can then check off the drink on the list. Not everyone know or would remember the name of the drink after seeing it on here.

  11. What kinds of changes?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I agree with cmdchiefthom that I noticed that are some changes under the new CEO.

For example, no cruisers are allowed to bring bottle water or bottle soda on board.

NCL increased the gratuities on standard cabins, as well on promotions you picked.

For the ubp, it now added to the final cruise fare.

There might be more changes, but these are the one I noticed.

  12. The earliest way to leave the cruise ship is to do the easy walk off. You would need to be in line early before the start time for the easy walk off. If the easy walk off with carrying your own luggage starts at 8 am, some cruisers might already be in a line like at 7am or earlier. With this easy walk off, it can takes a long time too if everyone decided to do this thinking they would leave the cruise ship right away. It is best to make any flights to get home at least 3 hours after docking. There's customs, security as well as who knows if the cruise ship get delayed in having people to get off board..

  13. From NCL:

"Bringing liquor onboard at embarkation: It's not allowed -- items are secured until debarkation day. Bringing wine or Champagne onboard: It's allowed, but you'll have to pay a corkage fee for all wine that is brought onboard. Fees are $15 for 750ml bottles, $20 for 1,000ml and $30 for 1,500ml."

"Can I still bring wine on board?

Yes, guests may bring sealed bottles of wine on board for personal consumption. They will be checked prior to embarkation and a corkage fee applied at that time of $15.00 USD for a 750 ml Bottle or $30.00 USD for a 1,500 ml Magnum bottle. Box wines are not allowed on board. If guests do not wish to pay the corkage fee, the wine will be held onboard and returned to the guests at the end of the cruise. "

  14. St. John & Halifax uses the Atlantic Time Zone.

"In Canada, the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island reckon time specifically as an offset of 4 hours from Greenwich Mean time (GMT-4). Small portions of Quebec (eastern Côte-Nord and the Magdalen Islands) are also part of the Atlantic Standard Time Zone."

    Use: thetimezoneconverter.com

The EST time right now is 11:38 am, but for Halifax is it 12:38 pm. One hour ahead.

I would assume that when you are landing to that port, would use their time (AST)

  15. 1.) False.

2.) I am not familiar with the port in Miami as I go to the NYC port when I cruised with NCL. With the NYC port, I think the best time would be around 1pm when the security go fast and then would be on board. For the Miami port or any other ports, check to see when you have to be on board by/when the cruise ship is deporting? NCL said need to be on board (2) hours prior to sailing. ncl.com/faq#boarding-times

3.) Public areas on NCL Epic - what public areas? Do you mean the buffet area or the pool? Noises shouldnt be that bad.

4.) There are free shows as well as some shows you would need to pay for if you are interested in those. The Burn the Floor, Escape the Big Top, Howl at the Moon and the Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical are complimentary. Make sure to get your ticket/to reserve for these shows. ncl.com/cruise-ship/epic/whats-on-board/entertainment

5.) Do not know what a 20-somethings want to do. There are the Bliss Lounge, Spice H2O, Pool, Gym, etc. cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=481&pgtype=activities

  16. Well..... this is a bit scary because if no other cabins are above you what exactly are you under? Are you under the pool deck and will hear deck chairs being set up at WayToEarly o'clock in the morning? Are you under the theater, the disco, a bar/lounge etc with noise at late hours. Under the buffet you'll be hearing the food carts rolling back and forth. Have a look see what is above you as this might not be the best position after all.

Handicap rooms will not have a sofa but rather one chair and the shower will have no step so you might have water issues when showering.

    (No cabins above 13700)

OP - Boarding process - when you check in, NCL listed down times for you to choose to when you would like to show up at the port. I do not know which port you would be boarding at. The first chosen time is from 9:30-10:30 am. You can arrive earlier than 9:30am. Once you arrive, you would get in line and to go through the security. Then they would give you a boarding group #. Then you would sit down to wait til they announce that the cruise ship is ready to be on board and would be calling by the group #. They usually let people go on board around 11:30 am. Once on board, you can go have lunch. On my first cruise with NCL, I did not go to the MDR or the Garden Cafe for lunch. I went to somewhere else for lunch that was not too crowded. Check out O'sheehans. Rooms are usually ready around 1 pm?

Bidding - Are you satisfied with the location of your room? If not, I believe you can call NCL to change the location of your room at no cost on same cabin type. If you bid, can you let NCL decide where your cabin would be? Looking at the deck plan, your cabin would be seeing the front of the cruise ship?? You can try to bid, however it would not always be accepted.

  17. If there are any changes to your cruise, NCL would post on their website as well as email/contact you to let you know that the cruise is changing to new ports/trip. If your cruise on 09/03 is going to Bermuda, you should be fine. Just pack some extra meds and try to not worry too much.
