  1. thanks for sharing! I almost missed the ship leaving from Barcelona , Spain because we flew in the same day... next time I will skip my cousins wedding and go out a day earlier!

I'm cruising the same itinerary, but on the Breakaway. did you book the tender for both stops in Bahamas, and should I book it on day one? thanks.

As mentioned, only their private island (GSC) is a tender port if NCL is able to go there.

Most of the times, NCL were not able to due to weather.

  2. I am unfamiliar with what a Distinctive Voyage is? Can someone enlighten me?

  3. $100 per day?? You mean $1400??? How?

I believe the $100 per day - this is shore excursion credits?

Some people are saying that the shore excursion credits could be doubled if the free of sea promotion is combined with the distinctive voyages promotion. Dont know if this is true and I heard this promotion is first time with NCL, some new promotion??

However, you would need to do the math to see if it worth it because the distinctive voyages price - they increased the price since they added all these promotion ($50 free shore excursion credit, wifi, free 250 phone call minutes, free $100 hotel credit and airfare - these last 2 - need to book through NCL)

  4. i have several colors of the Old Navy flip flops that have the leathery straps (not the rubber flops). that's all i pack other than sneakers, and ive worn them in every dining venue without problem.

Me too, I worn my Old Navy flip flop to the main dining room as well as to the Garden Cafe when I cruised on the NCL Breakaway. None of their staffs said anything to me.

  5. Specialty Dinking Package Questions:

1.) Any recent photos or menus that show different specialty resturants on the Gem?

2.) Can I reserve these ahead of time before getting on board?

3.) Teppanyaki & Cagneys - what is so special that I heard these two are very popular and reservation are hard to make?

    Shore Excursions Credit Questions:

*NCL would give $50 credit per port

I already called NCL Shore excursions line to reserve for certain shore excursions that I would like to go on.

They emailed me the reservation with the total amount listed.

My question is would the charge be cleared after each shore excursion or at the end of the cruise trip?

Thanks for all the help. :)

  6. any information on ports of Gaspe, Saquenay, and Sydney, Nova Scotia would be appreciated. Specifically is these are ports that we can do on our own? Is there easy access and/or transportation from the pier at these ports? Or is it necessary to book tours?

Hi, I haven't cruised to Canada before, but will be soon.

I went to do my own research.

Here are some sites to check:

    https://www.whatsinport.com/Canada.html

    http://www.sydneyport.ca/cruise/things-to-do/

    https://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/newport.cfm?ID=6065

The last site listed - click on "Related Ports of Call" to see other ports.

    Have fun!
