  1. She has been crying for years - the Sunshined ships are in my opinion the worst in the fleet with the Sunshine being the best one they did - but they are old, too many people and poorly kept up. Carnivals product is the same on every ship I have been on. Pick a different ship but the last time I was on the magic (which is much younger and a better class ship) it was also not kept up too well.
  2. The shows on anthem are not so great. You will get a seat I can guarantee. The ship has home ported in NY/NJ for so long that most people have seen them multiple times.
  3. I would prob bet against you on this. Odds are you raise prices on people after they pay - they find ways to get value. Not all but enough… money correlates to money - logical.
  4. can we get rid of the damn speakers that people play loudly as well??
  5. Booked three rooms last January(2023) and canceled one kid 3 days before cruise. The remaining child got double points. The catch I believe is you must cancel the guest before cruise. No show is No extra points.
  6. Just ask them - I’m sure they will tell you where to go
  7. Personally I think playing music and telling us we’ve arrive at coco cay at 7 am is worse than this. I guess the people could not go back to sleep because they were distraught over the news of a fellow passenger needs. I get it!
  8. Taking insurance is prob the best thing a person can do - most people dont know what antibiotic/antiviral will work for what, and in the wrong situation may actually hurt themselves.
  9. You need to stay in a Holiday inn express and you will understand!
  10. A great tool to keep track of cruises - past and present.
  11. If you get best plan - WhatsApp calling also works.
  12. When I was on sunrise 2019 and Magic 2022
  13. A small search on you-tube and you have a rum running bottle of fine wine spirits. All you need to do is have bottle and a foil to make it look legit. Works like a charm - so my friend says.
  14. With wifi calling I always make calls on the ship. I have AT&T - no issues.
  15. @steveknj nice review - honest and informative . MarQ is really very talented and all the cruise directors on Carnival really set the tone of FUN on the ship. NCL has very nice ships but no identity of the program. Have many things going on catering to different ages and interest , but nothing that brings it together. Royal compares better to Carnival in terms of fun and entertainment. I did loved the Elvis show on the Getaway - was done very well and if you get to see choir of man on an NCL ship that was really great - the shows on carnival don’t come close to those. Happy travels….
  16. There are deals everywhere including cruising if you know how to navigate. However there are more all inclusive and so a deal is much easier to find.
  17. You are correct… but as this is a hot topic and we know this happens. I have been there too and witnesses some stuff as well!
  18. Sunrise was my least favorite ship. It was hot all over the ship when I was on it just after it got sunshined. The older ships are getting a bit too worn on Carnival - they need better upkeep.
  19. Could really be anything. They don’t owe anyone that information - but it keeps the conspirators talking.
  20. It’s a blanket statement about all the lines and gratuities. I have no proof anyway shape or form. But the cruise lines have the numbers and the percentages of people paying and not paying. They also have the structure of how it’s tied to staff salaries. The fact that it’s not widely known to the general customer is the reason these debates continue. The lines at guests services are not ridiculous long the last two days because people are leaving more money - I am just guessing. Happens to be NCL doesn’t allow one to remove gratuities right away. One has to write a letter why to have them removed after. But people do that as well, and guess it’s their right if they take it.
  21. Correct but I don't think that the Carnival Liberty (just to pick one) captures the elegance of yesteryears cruises. Nice, new, big and options is what moat people are looking for. If The older ships were so desired they would build more of them.
  22. People like new ships with all the glitz and glamour that go along with it. The new ship starting with the Mardi Gras are excellent additions for carnival. However, the majority of their ships from the sunshine class to the spirit class and conquest class are all over 20 year Old. Carnival also has never been the greatest company at keeping up with modernizing their ships. The last time Carnival paused between the dream class and the vista class the other cruise lines made very big leaps with their new ships. I’m not sure that pausing new ships in the long run will be a great strategy as it takes many years to develop and build the newest and greatest. Carnival corp as a parent company with debt, good or bad - it’s still debt and as you say is in the forefront of the general mind of the suits of how they want to invest money going forward. If they don’t believe it’s a good idea to keep a modern newish fleet and Royal does - I guess time will tell how it works out for both of them.
